Amen. 07:29 Is there anything more important than evangelism? 07:32 Well, we're gonna find out in today's topic 07:35 that this is what everyone is called to do, 07:38 share the good news of Jesus Christ. 07:40 Wow. We're so glad to have you here. 07:42 I mean, my wife was, she said, do you know what? 07:45 We're gonna be talking to the guys from ASI today. 07:48 I'm so excited. 07:50 And today, what is our topic? 07:52 Oh, Steve, what is our topic today? 07:56 So, if you were to remember back 07:59 for about a year when ASI was at 3ABN 08:03 for our spring virtual conference, 08:05 because of the pandemic. 08:08 Elder Wilson spoke for our 11 o'clock hour 08:11 virtually, he wasn't here in person, 08:13 but he left his mark. 08:15 And when he was here, he shared with us a statement. 08:20 And, Rodney, I believe we have that statement here today 08:22 that we can share with everyone. 08:24 And that statement kind of jelled 08:27 into our topic today, 08:30 the 3AM Call. 08:33 Let me ask you a question. 08:35 What happens when you get a call 08:37 at 3 o'clock in the morning? 08:39 Wow. It's probably urgent. 08:42 You know, something is either about to happen 08:45 or has already happened 08:47 and you need to know what it is 08:50 because telemarketers don't call at 3AM. 08:53 That'd be a new one if they do. 08:55 They'd really get our attention, no distractions, 08:58 but yeah, it's a very urgent call. 09:00 So what is the 3AM Call? Yeah. 09:02 So the 3AM Call is that the message 09:06 of the three angels needs to go to the entire world. 09:10 And right now it should be our top priority. 09:13 Rodney, share that statement with us because I think 09:15 this is the essence of it, it's the power 09:17 that convicted Rodney and I, when we were looking at this, 09:21 it really convicted us that something needs to change. 09:25 Okay. Let's look at that statement together. 09:27 It's a powerful statement from the book Evangelism, 09:30 are willing to encourage all of you to listen carefully 09:34 as we put this statement up here. 09:35 It says, "In a special sense, 09:38 "Seventh-day Adventists have been set in the world 09:41 as watchmen and light-bearers. 09:43 To them has been entrusted the last warning 09:46 for a perishing world. 09:48 On them is shining wonderful light 09:51 from the Word of God." 09:53 And the next part of it talks about what that message is. 09:56 It says that, "This work is of most solemn import, 10:00 the proclamation of the first, second, 10:03 and third angels' messages. 10:06 There is no other work of so great importance. 10:10 They are to allow nothing else to absorb their attention." 10:15 Wow. It's powerful. 10:16 That's huge. 10:18 I mean, think about it this way. 10:19 When the plane is landing, 10:20 nothing should absorb the pilot's attention 10:23 other than landing that plane. 10:25 Not what he wants to eat, 10:27 not what the passengers are saying. 10:28 That's why he says strap in. 10:29 So this is an hour if you're saying to us, 10:32 we need to strap in, tighten our seat, 10:34 buckle our seatbelts. 10:35 Wow. 10:36 But now to our viewers, honey, what does ASI mean? 10:39 How do you think? 10:40 You think we should ask Steve? 10:42 Ask Steve, he's the president, 10:44 because they may not know what ASI is. 10:47 ASI is an organization focused on helping lay people 10:50 to partner with the church to advance mission. 10:54 Okay. 10:55 And so, as we think about it, there's a couple of things 10:58 that are very important to ASI. 11:00 ASI believes in the mission 11:02 of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 11:04 Amen. 11:05 Even though it's a group of lay people, 11:07 it believes in the mission of the Seventh-day 11:08 Adventist Church, it supports the mission 11:10 of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 11:12 Because ASI includes business people 11:14 and ministry people together, 11:16 there is this element of entrepreneurship as well. 11:20 Innovation and entrepreneurial 11:22 thinking are kind of inbred into ASI. 11:26 And so you get ideas that come forward 11:29 and people say, I think I could do that. 11:31 Or there might be another way to do that 11:33 that could be more effective. 11:35 And so as we take that group of people, 11:39 I want to ask you a question. 11:40 Could you imagine what would happen 11:43 if every single Seventh-day Adventist business 11:46 layperson and ministry person 11:50 put 100% of their effort 11:52 into sharing the gospel with the world? 11:54 Hmm. Wow. 11:56 I believe there would be enough talent and energy 11:57 and resources that something would get done. 12:00 Yes. 12:01 So as I get up in the morning and I spend time 12:04 for ASI and I'm a volunteer for ASI. 12:07 I serve ASI. I love ASI. 12:10 I do that because I believe that ASI can help make 12:13 a difference in getting this gospel to the world. 12:15 Okay. Wow. 12:16 How long has ASI been around? 12:19 So ASI was started in 1947. 12:21 So 1947, and so you can calculate that out 12:25 and come up with a number of years. 12:26 Wow. 12:28 And it grew out of a work started at Madison College. 12:31 Madison College was fomenting. 12:35 It was producing missionaries 12:39 that were going across the Southern United States 12:41 and around the world starting things. 12:43 And the church said, "We need a way to talk 12:45 to these self-supporting missionaries, 12:48 so that we can coordinate better together." 12:50 And so ASI was born for the supporting ministries 12:54 to get connected to the church 12:56 in a way that allowed the church 12:58 and the supporting ministries to work more closely together. 13:01 Wow. 13:02 And so, Rodney, we don't want you to sit there 13:04 as a wonderful specimen of evangelism. 13:06 What about ASI evangelism? 13:08 Talk about that? 13:10 Well, it ties right in to what Steve said. 13:12 You know, ASI's vision 13:14 is to share the good news of Jesus Christ 13:17 and our specific initiative right now 13:20 is the 3AM Call sharing the three angels' messages. 13:24 And we really want to take to heart that statement 13:27 that says, this should be our most urgent work, 13:31 nothing else should absorb our attention. 13:33 You know, there's a lot of things 13:34 they can call for our attention, 13:36 but the three angels' messages are the need 13:39 and the call for the hour. 13:41 And, honey, they brought some slides, 13:44 some really engaging slides 13:46 that I think we should go and start walking through them 13:49 to be able to unpack the urgency of this message, 13:51 the three angels' messages. 13:54 Here's another one that was included 13:55 in that quotation. 13:57 Maybe you wanna share this with us? 13:58 Sure. It is a powerful letter from Ellen White to Waggoner. 14:05 And it talks about the third angel's message. 14:08 Notice specifically what it says, that is, 14:09 "The greatest importance is the third angel's message." 14:14 And it says, "It's embracing the messages of the first 14:17 and second angels." 14:18 The next statement is very important. 14:20 "All should understand the truths contained 14:23 in these messages and demonstrate them 14:26 in daily life, 14:27 for this is essential to salvation. 14:31 Wow. 14:32 Whose salvation do you think it's essential to? 14:35 Mine, yours, ours. And the world, it's everyone. 14:38 You know, at ASI, we really believe 14:40 that doing evangelism 14:42 is not just for those who are hearing 14:44 that message or hearing the gospel call, 14:47 it's for us as well. 14:49 You know, when we're involved in ministry, 14:51 it deepens our own conviction. 14:53 That's why we want every person 14:55 who's watching this program 14:57 to get involved in the 3AM Call. 14:59 Wow. 15:01 So is evangelism just what we do 15:05 or am I hearing you say evangelism is who are? 15:08 Well, that last quote said very clearly, 15:10 it's expressed in our daily life. 15:13 So it is who we are. 15:14 It's where we work. It's how we live. 15:17 It's how we eat. It's how we dress. 15:19 It's all part of evangelism. It's how we live. 15:22 Wow. Right. 15:23 You look like you're gonna say something. 15:25 So the most powerful witness, Rodney, 15:27 when I think of that statement is a life 15:30 that is lived in harmony 15:32 with what you say you believe, right? 15:34 That's right. 15:35 That's the testimony that really engages people 15:38 when they look at you and they say 15:40 that person is really living the way they're talking. 15:45 Hmm. Yes. 15:46 And so I think that goes right along 15:49 with that idea that, yeah, if we're gonna live it, 15:52 we're gonna preach it, we ought to live it. 15:53 I know my wife challenged somebody 15:55 the other day about the... 15:56 What'd you say, don't talk to, was it talking walk, 15:59 how would you say that? 16:00 Yeah, don't talk the talk or walk the walk. 16:02 Yeah, don't just talk the talk, you walk the walk. 16:04 I have a nephew I'm dealing with. 16:06 He's very challenging and he's, oh, I'm gonna do this. 16:09 I'm gonna do that. 16:10 And I'm like, please, no, don't just say it, do it. 16:14 And this is what we're talking about. 16:16 That brings up the idea of a disciple. 16:20 And we talked about that a little bit 16:21 before the program, 16:22 but, you know, really we all need to be disciples 16:25 of Jesus Christ. 16:27 That's right. 16:28 And that means more than just a member 16:29 of the church. 16:31 It's a disciple, someone who leads 16:33 someone else to Jesus, 16:34 someone who follows very closely. 16:36 So our dream for the 3AM Call 16:39 is not just to have people sign up and say, 16:42 I'm part of the 3AM Call club. 16:45 It's to be a disciple maker themselves... 16:49 And I'm so glad that both of you are signed up 16:50 for the 3AM Call. 16:52 I know we're gonna show you 16:53 in a little bit here, what it means 16:55 to be a part of the 3AM 16:57 and Rodney just said loosely the club, 16:59 but in fact, a part of the mission, 17:01 a part of the disciple team, 17:02 a part of those pushing the message. 17:04 But I'm excited. 17:07 You, I'm just gonna say, 17:08 you also wrote a little booklet 17:10 called the Three Angels Messages, 17:12 which 3ABN is carrying 17:15 and it's the message for the whole world, isn't it? 17:17 That's right. 17:19 And it's right here as you see. 17:21 Yeah. 17:22 And you shared one of those with Rodney and I, 17:25 and I believe we're gonna put some to use. 17:27 Amen. 17:28 What a powerful little book, you know, 17:30 it doesn't have to be complicated. 17:33 The three angels' messages, sometimes I think 17:34 we complicate it too much. 17:37 Right. It's a simple message. 17:38 We have a Savior who's coming soon 17:40 and He desperately wants to take 17:43 as many homes as possible. 17:44 That's right. 17:45 And making it to the point and simple and relevant, 17:48 and today is something that we wanna do 17:50 and that's what I've taken the time to do in that booklet. 17:52 But I wanna get back to, you brought some slides. 17:55 We're gonna unpack this because somebody might be 17:57 saying, I wanna be a part of that 3 AM Call. 18:00 I wanna get my call too. 18:01 So let's go to some of these slides 18:03 and begin to unfold what we have here today? 18:05 Here we go. Okay. 18:06 So the goal of the 3AM Call is to inspire 18:11 and equip as many self-supporting, 18:14 that's where ASI comes in, lay missionaries as possible 18:18 to do comprehensive evangelism, 18:20 specifically sharing the three angels' messages 18:24 by the General Conference session in 2022. 18:28 Now, Rodney, wait a minute now, 18:29 that said as many as possible. 18:32 Now, on that Sabbath afternoon, 18:34 when you and I sat eating together, 18:37 and this idea began to formulate, 18:40 we talked about some numbers. 18:42 What numbers did we talk about? 18:44 Well, we started with like 10,000. 18:47 Let's get 10,000 people doing evangelism 18:51 and sharing the three angels' messages. 18:53 And then, you know, Steve, 18:55 it's always fun to have lunch with you 18:56 because we all of us come up with great ideas. 18:59 God inspires us so then we said, 19:02 well, that's too small, 50,000 maybe, 19:05 100,000. 19:07 And then we said, Rodney, why do we think so small? 19:12 Why do we think so small? Whose work is this anyway? 19:15 True. It's God's work. It's not our work. 19:16 That's right... 19:18 Why shouldn't we imagine that God wants 19:19 to do really great things? 19:21 Especially when the Bible says, 19:23 "Go ye therefore into all world 19:25 And the message is to every nation, 19:28 kindred, tongue and people." 19:29 So yeah, 50,000 is a little bit of smaller number 19:32 to serve a huge God. 19:33 So what number are you up to right now as of... 19:36 So we decided 19:38 that a reasonable goal, reasonably small goal 19:40 would be to have a million people engaged 19:43 in sharing the three angels' messages 19:45 before General Conference session in 2022. 19:48 Wow. Do you think that's reasonable? 19:50 Yes. You could do more. 19:52 You could go over a million. 19:54 Well, maybe a million is too small, 19:55 but we just pick that number and so that sounds like 19:58 a good goal to start with, because really think about it, 20:01 how many Seventh-day Adventists are there in the world? 20:05 Hmm. Oh, 19 to 21 million. 20:07 About 20, 22 million. 20:09 So shouldn't everybody be involved in this? 20:13 I mean, isn't that what we just read that everyone 20:15 should be involved in doing this. 20:17 So really the million is just a beginning. 20:19 Let me tell you 20:20 a very interesting story about this 20:22 that I think you'll be very intrigued by. 20:25 So when people register, 20:27 I get the registrations and the contacts 20:29 come through evangelism through our department at ASI. 20:33 And repeatedly over the last several months, 20:36 I've been getting some very exciting emails 20:38 that say, "I am not a Seventh-day Adventist, 20:42 but I would like to join the 3AM Call. 20:44 Is it possible for me?" 20:46 And I said, "Yes, it definitely is." 20:49 So not only are we training 20:51 and equipping Seventh-day Adventists, 20:53 but through our Facebook marketing outreach, 20:56 which is how we're promoting this around the world. 20:59 Other people are coming in, 21:00 who are not yet Seventh-day Adventist. 21:02 We call them pre Adventists. 21:04 There you go. 21:05 They are not just the laypeople. 21:09 There's Reverend so-and-so who's coming in or Bishop. 21:13 So these are people from other denominations 21:15 who are gonna be learning the three angels' messages. 21:17 Amen. Praise the Lord. 21:19 'Cause it is once again 21:20 for every nation, kindred, tongue and people. 21:21 And you all know that when the Lord comes back, 21:24 there's not gonna be, you know, 21:25 35 different denominations, it's gonna be 21:27 just those who serve the Lord and those who do not serve. 21:30 That's right. 21:32 And this message is intended to call all of God's people 21:34 together in preparation for that. 21:36 Let's go to the next slide, but see what we got. 21:39 Yeah, I'm just gonna say 21:40 this really is an end time message. 21:42 That's right. 21:44 It's a relevant message for this day. 21:45 If you look around the world, 21:47 people are just asking what's happening. 21:50 So there's a lot of questions about that, but yes. 21:52 So, Rodney, this is the website. 21:55 Yes, it is the3amcall.org 21:58 And we want to encourage everyone to take their phone, 22:02 take their iPad, take their computer, 22:05 whatever it is right now, put down everything 22:07 and sign up at the3amcall.org website. 22:11 It's very simple. 22:12 You just click a register to become a 3AM missionary 22:15 and then enroll in that introductory course. 22:18 That's as easy as it is to get started. 22:21 And you can have an account. 22:22 I'm looking at my wife's iPad. 22:24 I just joined before the program. 22:26 It's so easy, simple, just press here, right? 22:28 And she even passed the quiz. 22:30 She passed the quiz. I got 100%. 22:33 And the resources are abundant. 22:35 We wanna talk about some of those resources 22:37 because not only is the call an urgent call, 22:40 but it's a call that really says to us, 22:43 answer the phone. 22:44 So if somebody is gonna call you 22:46 at 3 o'clock in the morning, you got to pick the phone up. 22:49 You can't say some telemarketer, 22:51 it's something serious on the other line. 22:53 And, friends, you know, we are smiling 22:55 because we're excited about what the Lord is planning 22:58 to do in our lives. 22:59 Let's go, let's start walking through some of these resources 23:02 that are available at this website. 23:03 Let's go to the next slide. 23:05 So the 3AM Call is set up that people 23:08 can take different classes, so to speak. 23:11 So we've partnered with the Center 23:13 for Online Evangelism, ASAP Ministries 23:17 and others that we'll be adding. 23:19 And we have different components. 23:20 You can see here on the slide. 23:22 There are eight of them 23:24 that are shown here on the screen 23:26 that we're specifically looking at that are very, 23:28 very important. 23:30 And we're gonna talk about each one 23:31 of those in the time that we have together. 23:35 So we have one called grow your church. 23:39 It's talking about growth. 23:40 And we partnered with the General Conference, 23:44 Sabbath School and Personal Ministries department 23:47 and put their course in a class 23:50 so that everyone can learn 23:52 how to grow their church God's way. 23:54 Okay. 23:55 Now there's something interesting 23:57 about this initiative. 23:58 When we conceived it and thought about it, 24:00 began to develop it. 24:02 We realized that people need training. 24:05 And so this is actually based in a platform 24:09 that tracks your training for you. 24:11 So it tracks the class for you, how you're doing, 24:15 which courses you take, 24:16 how much complete you are. 24:17 And then it sends you an email saying, 24:19 "Hey, you're only 30% done with this course. 24:21 You should finish this course 24:23 or you haven't started this course 24:24 yet that you signed up for, you should finish this course, 24:26 so get started." 24:28 And so, you can go to the website 24:29 and you can enroll in these courses 24:32 and really get some powerful training to equip you. 24:35 You know, we were talking about this 24:37 a little bit earlier. 24:39 Sometimes people feel, I'm not a professional. 24:41 Oh, that's right. 24:42 Why would God want me to share this message? 24:45 This is a preacher message here. 24:47 You need to be a preacher to share this message... 24:49 This is something that read this out of the Book 24:51 of Revelation, you know? 24:53 So you need to be a preacher, 24:55 but God calls all of us 24:57 to share this message with the world. 24:59 So we provide some training 25:02 You can get these resources, 25:03 you can engage in these courses... 25:05 It's on the website? 25:06 It's all on the website. 25:08 So I think that first one Grow is a very powerful course. 25:12 We partnered with the General Conference. 25:16 This is part of the General Conference's training. 25:18 And it's a very powerful course... 25:20 that helps someone to learn how to grow their church. 25:24 That's exactly... 25:25 Look at the five areas there, 25:26 prepare, plant, cultivate, harvest, and preserve. 25:30 Not only is my vision great, 25:32 but that's a wonderful graphic. 25:33 But when you go there then, is that... 25:36 It's one of the courses. One of the courses. 25:37 That is one of the courses and what we've done 25:40 is we've taken the material from the General Conference 25:43 and put it in a class format as Steve described. 25:46 And what's really exciting about this 25:49 is that every church member can get involved in something. 25:53 We believe that everyone has been gifted by God 25:56 in special ways that they can share their talents. 25:59 And I also believe that you can share the three angels' 26:03 messages through those different talents. 26:05 It could be music, it could be cooking. 26:08 Have you thought about that? 26:09 Sharing the three angels' messages in cooking? 26:12 Well, I haven't thought about it, 26:13 maybe my wife made it. 26:14 Right arm of the message. 26:16 You mean, I could share the three angels' message 26:17 when I burned the toast, Rodney. 26:19 Well, maybe with the firemen 26:20 that have to come put out the fire. 26:22 Okay. 26:23 It's a TMI thing. 26:24 Total members involvement, isn't it? 26:26 There you go. Exactly. 26:27 Total member involvement, that's really what the goal is. 26:29 And the goal is specifically though, 26:31 we've got a laser focus in on this goal, 26:34 which is the three angels' messages. 26:37 We're not just talking about, you know, a wonderful message 26:41 about God loves us, 26:42 which is very important, of course, 26:44 but we've got to zero in on the three angels' messages. 26:48 And so we have a lot of materials 26:50 that get directly to the point. 26:53 You know, you make a very good point because the three angels' 26:56 messages as I was thinking about it and putting 26:58 the book together, and I know we have proclaimed that message 27:01 a number of times, it is not a tiptoe 27:04 through the tulips kind of message. 27:06 But it's wrapped in the urgency of a loving God. 27:10 That's right. 27:11 And it's like somebody once said, 27:13 if the bridge is out and you know it, 27:16 and somebody driving by, you're not gonna say, 27:17 "Hey, have a great day." 27:19 You can do everything you can to get that person's attention. 27:23 What do you say, Steve? 27:24 I say that, you know, when you think about it in the context 27:27 of the world we live in today, 27:29 you have to admit that something is different 27:33 and that we should understand that above all people. 27:38 You know, we shouldn't be ignorant. 27:39 Peter says we should not be ignorant of the times 27:41 in which we live. 27:43 We should understand those times, 27:45 respond to those times appropriately, 27:47 which means at this time, 27:49 this message is urgent for the world. 27:51 That's right. 27:53 And most of the world doesn't know this message. 27:56 If you interview people on the street, 27:58 you say, do you know about these three angels' 28:01 messages of Revelation 14? 28:03 You'll get lots of blank stares looking back at you. 28:07 And the downside of that is a lot of churches 28:09 teach that Revelation is a mysterious book, 28:11 you can't understand, a closed book. 28:13 It's not a closed book. 28:15 That's why it's called the Revelation of Jesus Christ. 28:19 It's as clear as an 8K screen, 28:23 the day that the Lord gave that to John on the island 28:25 of Patmos, it was never closed up. 28:27 It was intended to be proclaimed 28:29 throughout the world. 28:30 Let's go to the next slide and see what we have here. 28:32 That's a part of this because you said, 28:34 you're partnering with different kinds of ministries. 28:36 So, we partnered with LIGHT ministry to provide 28:39 health evangelism training. 28:42 And we know that health evangelism is very powerful. 28:46 It is according to Ellen White the right arm. 28:49 It's used to open the doors to people's heart. 28:53 And there's a beautiful quote that we want to share 28:55 from Testimonies for the Church, 28:57 volume seven, page 62. 29:00 It says, "We have come to a time 29:02 when every member of the church 29:04 should take hold of medical missionary work. 29:07 The world is a lazar house.' 29:10 What does that mean? It's a sick house. 29:12 Notice, it goes on to say, 29:13 "Filled with victims of both physical and spiritual disease. 29:18 Everywhere people are perishing for lack of a knowledge 29:22 of the truths that have been committed to us." 29:25 So we have this course in the 3AM Call 29:29 that will help every person who logs in 29:33 to know what they can do to share that message 29:35 at whatever level they are. 29:36 If they're a physician, if they're a surgeon, 29:40 if they are a layperson who doesn't have a medical 29:43 degree at all, everyone can do something to share 29:46 the health message and reach people's heart for Jesus. 29:49 And it's intimately connected with that three angels' 29:53 messages of Revelation 14. 29:55 Beautiful. 29:57 And when we look at the life of Christ, 29:59 we see something unique there. 30:01 His method was to meet people where they were 30:05 and if they were sick, He would heal them. 30:07 Yes. 30:08 If they were blind, He would give them sight. 30:10 If they were deaf, He would help them hear. 30:13 And then it says, 30:14 He would ask them to follow Him. 30:16 Yes. 30:18 So that method, Rodney, 30:19 fits right with what you're saying 30:21 is that if we meet people's needs physically, 30:24 a lot of times they will respond spiritually. 30:26 Christ's method alone is gonna work 30:29 to win people's hearts. 30:30 That's right. 30:32 So this is not just about intellectually informing them, 30:34 but physical transformation. 30:37 Impacting their lives, 30:39 taking them from where you find them 30:41 to where God wants them to be. 30:43 Exactly. 30:44 Another thing in this note, 30:46 you know, it's very important the health of a person's body 30:51 really affects their thinking as well. 30:54 And so this health message 30:57 helps clear up people's brains, 31:00 so they can understand the truth 31:03 of the third angel's message. 31:05 You know, the third angel's message 31:07 is not a... 31:09 What did you say earlier? 31:11 A tiptoe through the tulips. 31:12 Exactly. 31:13 It's the most solemn message that you can imagine. 31:16 And many people are just not ready to receive it 31:19 because their brain is so clouded 31:21 with all the other ailments that they might have. 31:25 So it's such a powerful tool that can be used. 31:28 'Cause someone may ask 31:29 what is the three angels' messages? 31:31 That's right. 31:32 People out there 31:34 that don't know what it is, right? 31:35 Now, I need to tell you something, 31:37 I need to warn you. 31:38 You're gonna be getting a weekly email from us. 31:41 And we're gonna be telling you 31:43 about five different practical things 31:46 that you can do 31:48 to actually share the three angels' messages. 31:50 They're called weekly missions. 31:52 They're the 3AM Call weekly missions. 31:56 And so some of them are very practical, like, 31:59 go meet your neighbor. 32:00 You know, a lot of us don't know our neighbors. 32:02 So you know, get to know them, 32:05 make some delicious vegan cookies 32:07 and, you know, go meet your neighbors 32:09 and just say, thank you. 32:10 And then after time goes by, 32:12 you can give them a GLOW track. 32:13 Then you can give them a book. 32:15 Then you can give them the Three Angels' Messages 32:18 booklet that you wrote or something else like that, 32:21 a DVD that really explains the message. 32:24 Cosmic series. 32:25 Exactly. The Cosmic series. 32:27 And that, I'm glad you brought that up. 32:28 Pastor Mark Finley, he did a series here 32:30 on the Cosmic Conflict, which is also a part of that. 32:34 And then there it is right there. 32:36 It's one of our tools for this initiative. 32:40 And one of the things I like about this message, 32:42 specifically, 32:43 those of you who know Elder Finley, 32:45 he's a master at presenting the gospel 32:48 in a way that exudes love. 32:51 And the love of God is the central theme 32:53 of this whole message. 32:55 Even though it has some like you say, 32:56 it's not tiptoeing through the tulips. 32:58 You've got some, some fine lines in this message, 33:02 but God loves us so much, He desires to save us. 33:04 Like say, if somebody is driving toward the bridge 33:06 that's out, you're gonna jump in the way 33:08 and try to stop them. 33:09 Right. 33:11 But it's out of love. 33:12 And this is God's heart for us 33:13 is a heart of love that is overflowing. 33:16 And He wants to make sure that no one 33:19 misses the opportunity to be in His kingdom. 33:22 Wow. Wonderful. 33:23 Well, let's go to the next slide 33:24 and see what else we have here. 33:26 So I think it's important to look, 33:27 now, this is... 33:29 Oh, he's gonna say something. 33:30 Before we go to that one... Okay. 33:31 I just wanted to go back to that one 33:33 about the three cosmic messages. 33:36 I'm guessing that many people who are watching this right now 33:39 don't feel that they can present like Mark Finley. 33:43 Well, the reality is that everyone 33:47 has the tools that they can do something 33:49 to share that message. 33:51 Well, ASI has partnered with Heart Research, 33:54 which I know Dan Houghton has been on the program many times. 33:58 And so we have a 13 part series 34:01 where anyone can preach this series. 34:05 All those graphics, all the notes, 34:07 the illustrations of Elder Finley are already. 34:11 So anyone can take it. 34:13 And we want to encourage church members to do this 34:16 no matter what their age is, there's a curriculum. 34:19 And, Steve, maybe you could talk a little bit more about. 34:21 Is it scripted? 34:23 They're fully scripted. 34:24 Okay. It's fully scripted. 34:25 And there's actually in our training courses 34:27 there's what they called an honors course. 34:30 In addition to the regular curriculum, 34:31 there's this honors course, 34:33 which means find out some of the techniques 34:37 that Elder Findley uses when he presents. 34:40 And so, this has been developed and we presented it 34:43 actually to our students at a high school level. 34:46 And they were very engaged and suggest, 34:49 we believe we can learn to do these things, 34:51 you know, using illustrations in the right way, 34:53 making sure to keep it Christ centered, 34:56 making sure that you are positive 34:58 about your message. 34:59 So all of these things are part of this training. 35:02 And that specific training is through advent source. 35:06 Yes, it is. Right. 35:07 Okay. So that, that's a curriculum. 35:09 That's actually an NAD approved curriculum 35:12 for grades 9 through 12. 35:14 Okay. Getting young people involved. 35:16 We want young people involved. 35:17 You know, when I read The Great Controversy, 35:20 we learn about those times past 35:23 where children, you know, they'd be out playing, 35:25 God would move upon them, 35:27 the Holy Spirit would come upon them, 35:28 they would go and they would preach. 35:30 And then they would go back to playing. 35:32 Well, we went to equip young people 35:33 to share the three angels' messages. 35:36 You know, one of my friends 35:37 who lives near one of our universities 35:40 asked students, 35:42 can you tell me about the three angels' messages? 35:45 And he shared with me the overwhelming response 35:48 is people don't have a good understanding 35:50 of what the messages really are. 35:52 So even within, you know, our universities 35:55 and our elementary schools, 35:57 we want everyone at whatever age to be ready, 36:02 able, and capable to share the three angels' messages. 36:05 I like that. 36:07 It's very important 36:08 because the resources you're talking 36:10 about are making it easier because a lot of times 36:12 people say, I'm not a preacher like Pastor Finley 36:14 or a preacher at all. 36:16 So how do I put this whole thing together. 36:17 And when you have it scripted, 36:19 it gives them room to be flexible. 36:21 So can you see members at your church 36:25 getting equipped and preaching this series 36:27 right here in America? 36:28 You know, Angie knows, 36:29 my wife knows we're doing that right now. 36:31 We're teaching our members 36:32 how to do the whole Bible marking, 36:34 how to be evangelists. 36:36 Within every Sabbath afternoons 36:37 I would do, now, right now, the Bible marking, 36:40 how to present, we had them demonstrate last week 36:42 and we're talking about digital evangelism on Sundays. 36:45 So, yeah, we're right along that these resources 36:48 could be very beneficial for our church. 36:50 We'd love for you to use them. 36:51 And for anyone who's watching, 36:53 you know, if it's a conference or a union, 36:56 we'd love to see this on a bigger scale. 37:01 We wanted at the local church, of course, 37:02 but we'd love to see it. 37:04 And Elder Wilson has fully endorsed the 3AM Call. 37:08 We collaborated with him on the very beginning 37:11 and, you know, his heart 37:12 is with the three angels' messages. 37:14 That's right. 37:15 So every part of the church, we want to engage 37:18 with every part of the church. 37:19 Wow. 37:21 So now let's go to that slide that was about beginnings. 37:23 'Cause we want to make sure that the people 37:24 that are listening and watching 37:27 understand how they could get access to these resources. 37:29 Very good. 37:31 So New Beginnings is a project 37:33 that has really reached literally 37:37 hundreds of thousands of people around the world. 37:40 This was an ASI initiative. 37:41 Steve, when was the first New Beginnings called out? 37:45 It was in the mid '90s. 37:47 Mid '90s when it first came out? 37:49 Yes, it could have been as late as '98. 37:51 I don't know the exact date, 37:52 but I know that it's been a very powerful tool. 37:56 Hundreds of thousands of people around the world 37:58 have been trained. 37:59 Laypeople have already been trained on how to use this. 38:01 What happened though is it became after a while, 38:04 it became a little bit dated, 38:05 you know, how graphics can become, and that sort of thing. 38:08 And the standards go up. 38:10 We're on 4K now, we're not on standard definition. 38:14 Well, now, we've just recently gone through the entire series. 38:18 We've updated the... 38:20 not only the graphics, but we've updated the scripts 38:24 to really focus centrally 38:26 as these are presented on the love of God. 38:29 So the scripts are updated, the graphics are updated. 38:32 It's a powerful, new version 38:35 that can be used by laypeople everywhere 38:37 to share this good news with the world. 38:40 That's right. 38:41 And it's a series of 26 sermons. 38:44 The three cosmic messages is 13 parts 38:48 and it's laser-focused on the three angels' messages. 38:51 Amen. 38:52 And the New Beginnings though is 26 and it's more topical. 38:56 You know, talking about the major truths 38:58 of the Bible. 39:00 It's an evangelistic series. 39:01 Again, fully scripted for any layperson 39:04 to take this tool and to do it. 39:07 And in our world today, you know 39:09 everyone can be an evangelist online. 39:12 Isn't that right? 39:14 Because of different restrictions 39:16 that have happened around the world, 39:18 a lot of things have shifted online 39:19 and this material can also be used 39:22 to do a virtual evangelistic series. 39:25 Rodney, tell us about Dr. Norton? 39:27 Ah. Okay. 39:28 Dr. Norton. 39:30 I think we have a picture of Dr. Norton as well. 39:32 Let's see. 39:33 So this is Dr. Ken Norton, 39:35 and he is doing in this picture a series, 39:40 15 presentation series for the island of Guam. 39:44 At this time he was the president 39:47 of the Guam Micronesia Conference. 39:50 And so he did the initiative 39:52 and it got great results and it was, 39:55 you can see in the picture, you know, very well done. 39:57 With a simple setup, it didn't 39:59 cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to make a studio. 40:03 It was a pretty simple setup, but very powerful. 40:06 You had a question a moment ago. 40:09 Oh what was my... Oh, the fundamentals. 40:11 Does it have, you know, that you just talk 40:13 about the fundamental, the New Beginnings. 40:15 Yeah, New Beginnings. 40:16 Now, do you have topics like what happens when you die? 40:19 Exactly. 40:21 Yeah, it's basically 40:22 a Seventh-day Adventist evangelistic series. 40:25 You know, it goes through the inspiration of scripture, 40:28 starts off with Daniel 2. 40:29 That was the one in the picture right now, 40:31 but it goes through all of the things. 40:32 And, of course, it highlights the last days, 40:35 the three angels' messages, 40:37 Babylon, Sunday worship and the whole thing, 40:41 you know, it's a full Seventh-day Adventists series. 40:43 You have pictures, films, everything? 40:45 All of the pictures are in 4K resolution. 40:49 If you so desire to present 4K. 40:52 I like that. 40:53 We partnered with the Justinen Creative Group 40:56 and you know, they do our Sabbath School lesson. 40:59 They did a phenomenal job for us. 41:01 There's a lot of new artwork 41:03 that's never been seen anywhere else. 41:05 Lars Justinen. Lars Justinen. 41:07 Okay, yeah. Great artist. 41:08 Yes. 41:09 You know, Rodney, 41:11 though, I don't want to pass over this point. 41:12 And that is that you can do this in your living room. 41:16 You don't necessarily need a Paul 41:21 or a 500 people sitting in front of you. 41:25 You can do this in your living room 41:27 with just a few people 41:28 that you've invited into your home. 41:30 So again, it doesn't have to be a big meeting. 41:34 It can be a small meeting just with a few people 41:36 where you go over this material and share with them 41:39 the beauty of the Bible and the gospel. 41:42 Amen. 41:43 This is great. 41:44 Now I have a Zoom meeting 41:46 on Friday nights with my family. 41:49 I was thinking, I could use this. 41:51 It's ready for you. 41:52 She's a Zoom evangelist every Friday night. 41:54 That's beautiful. I mean, literally. 41:56 I'm so excited when I see my wife, 41:58 when she started this a little while ago, 42:00 now family members that had kind of lost their luster 42:04 in the COVID environment, 42:06 they call in and say, "You don't realize we missed it 42:09 last Friday when you guys were out of town." 42:12 Or they talk about the transformation 42:14 that are being seen in other family members 42:16 and the light is coming back on in lot of the family members. 42:20 I mean she's mission-driven. 42:21 Amen. 42:23 And I hear last Friday night, 42:24 she was like in the room, just... 42:25 I mean... 42:27 We're reading last day events. 42:28 Amen. Beautiful. 42:30 And some of my family members that have wandered away, 42:32 they're coming back in, and I'm just praising God. 42:36 And when you told us about, you just shared with us 42:38 about this wonderful series called New Beginnings, 42:42 we could do this on my Zoom. 42:44 I'd love to encourage you to start this coming Friday, 42:49 you know, choose New Beginnings. 42:51 And then you can do the Three Cosmic messages. 42:54 It's you know, these are two series 42:57 that really can dovetail, you know, we're encouraged 43:00 when we do evangelism to do it again, to repeat the message, 43:04 use one, and then do the other one. 43:06 Either way you can do New Beginnings first 43:09 and then Three Cosmic messages to follow up or vice versa. 43:13 See, honey, 'cause she was set to go to New Guinea 43:15 a couple of years ago when COVID hit... 43:18 So was I. 43:19 We were all gonna be there together. 43:20 And that was that. 43:22 I mean, that excited me so much. 43:23 So I know that our heart is, the Lord is moving 43:25 in that direction because for her to accept 43:27 an assignment to be a speaker in New Guinea, 43:29 I mean, it just totally terrified. 43:30 And I said, I'm not gonna even try to influence you, 43:33 let the Holy Spirit convicts you. 43:34 And I heard her in the kitchen, practicing her scripts, 43:37 preaching and going through her slides. 43:39 Get ready for New Beginning. 43:40 And then COVID hit. 43:41 I prefer Zoom New Beginnings. 43:44 But that may get you ready for the bigger stage. 43:45 But I like what you said, Steve, 43:47 you can have it in your living room. 43:48 You have meetings in your living room. 43:50 You don't need a big hall. 43:52 Well, and you can even do it practicing social distancing. 43:55 You know, with a smaller group it's easier to, 43:58 a little protection these days is not a bad thing. 44:00 Right. 44:02 Oh, wow. This is amazing. 44:03 What else do we have? 44:04 Let's go to the next slide that you have here. 44:06 Sure. 44:07 So we have also partnered with ASAP Ministries. 44:11 This picture is beautiful because it shows 44:13 people from different ethnic backgrounds 44:16 as well as different spiritual persuasion. 44:19 So ASAP Ministries, ASAP, we call them, 44:23 they have developed 44:24 something called reach the world next door. 44:27 And for those of us 44:28 living in the United States of America, 44:31 we have a lot of people that have literally come 44:35 from around the world with different backgrounds, 44:38 ethnically different religious backgrounds. 44:42 They're right here and they're next door to us in the US. 44:45 This course helps us to understand how to reach 44:48 the refugees and the immigrants 44:50 that are all over the United States. 44:53 And really if you do research and if there's someone watching 44:57 internationally around the world, 44:59 there's a lot of movement of people. 45:01 A lot of people are displaced right now. 45:04 And we know that when someone is displaced, 45:07 they're more open to change. 45:09 They're more open to receive the gospel. 45:11 So this course will help you 45:13 identify where those people are in your locality 45:16 and then how to befriend them with practical ways. 45:19 And then you can share 45:21 the three angels' messages with them also. 45:22 Friendship evangelism. 45:24 ASI has taken this to the next level. 45:25 I mean, I look at that Adventist Laymen's 45:28 Services and Industries. 45:31 And, I mean, as the president of ASI, 45:34 you're sharpening your pencil 45:36 as you look at the future in a bright way. 45:37 Yes. 45:38 So there's an interesting word in there. 45:42 It's laypeople, it's laymen's services. 45:43 That's right. 45:45 We believe that there are not enough pastors 45:48 to finish the work of spreading the gospel to the world. 45:50 That's right. 45:51 And that as we engage with laypeople, 45:55 then the work will move forward more quickly 45:58 because that's where the power lies 46:01 in the numbers of laypeople, 20 million. 46:04 How many pastors in the whole Seventh-day Adventist Church? 46:06 Just a few thousands when compared to the 20 millions 46:09 of Seventh-day Adventist people. 46:11 And so, we need to help the laypeople 46:14 understand that it is their mission, 46:17 it is their calling. 46:21 John 15:16, "I have chosen you. 46:26 You didn't choose Me," Jesus said. 46:28 He said, "I chose you." 46:30 And then He goes on to say, "I chose you 46:33 and I've ordained you to do this work." 46:37 I love that. 46:38 And this is my rendition of this, 46:41 and I'm gonna give you what you need to get it done. 46:44 That's right. 46:45 God never denies us 46:47 what we need to get the work done. 46:48 We may not be an ordained trained minister, 46:52 but we can share His good news with the gifts and talents 46:55 He's given us and help other people. 46:59 You know, and, Rodney, there's something else in this 47:02 that I heard mentioned earlier, 47:03 and that's the spiritual gifts part. 47:05 Oh, yeah. 47:07 You know, some people may not know what their gift is. 47:09 They may need to experiment with this a little bit. 47:11 Okay. 47:12 What I say is take what you have 47:14 and get started with that, 47:15 and God will bless it and show you if that's your gift or not. 47:19 Wow. 47:20 It's on the webpage, isn't it? 47:22 It is. That's actually the very first thing. 47:24 When you sign up, by the way, have you signed up yet? 47:27 We want everyone to sign up. 47:29 What is it? 47:30 Three, the3... 47:31 The3amcall.org We want people to sign up. 47:34 But once you sign up, the first thing we do is 47:37 we give you a little roadmap 47:38 and we want people to learn a little bit 47:41 about their spiritual gifts. 47:42 Now, again, we believe that everyone has been created 47:45 by God in a very special way 47:47 with different gifts and talents. 47:50 But I also believe that God wants all of us 47:52 to go up a little higher to the next level. 47:55 I mean we're in the last days, 47:57 so maybe some of you have a spiritual gift 48:00 in, you know, the health message, right? 48:03 Okay. 48:05 But you're terrified of going door-to-door. 48:07 I believe maybe God wants 48:08 to stretch the comfort zone a little bit. 48:11 And take you door-to-door. 48:13 You know what I mean? 48:15 Yeah, yeah. 48:16 God wants us to do, yes, what we're comfortable with, 48:19 but also something that we might feel uncomfortable. 48:22 But I guarantee that 48:23 there's a good result at the end. 48:24 It's like a new pair of shoes, 48:26 it's really firm and hard to bend, 48:28 but if you wear them long enough 48:29 they become comfortable. 48:31 They become your favorite shoes. 48:32 There you go. 48:33 Do we have any more slides before we... 48:35 We do actually, yeah. 48:36 Let's go to the next one. 48:37 We have these courses, there are four of them 48:39 that we partnered with the Center 48:40 for Online Evangelism. 48:43 You know, they focus in the digital realm. 48:46 So during this whole pandemic experience, 48:49 this is where a lot of people have shifted their focus. 48:52 So we have four specific courses to help people 48:55 get ready for YouTube for ministry, 48:57 podcasting for ministry, 48:59 how to engage in an online small group. 49:03 All of those things, the resources are all there. 49:06 They're all there. 49:08 Everyone can get involved, they're free materials. 49:10 Doesn't cost a penny to do the training. 49:13 You're equipping the saints. 49:14 That is the goal. 49:16 That's right. The equipment is there. 49:17 I want to just, I don't know. 49:19 Do we have any more slides? 49:20 I want to just make sure 49:22 that we've covered all we've had today. 49:23 If we have anymore, that's the one right there. 49:24 I love that. 49:26 What is that? 49:27 Equip, answer, spread the message. 49:29 That's for those who are on radio listening to this. 49:32 And I love that 3AM Call 49:34 that we're extending to everyone 49:36 that's watching and listening to the program. 49:38 Now, before we go to the information 49:41 where we can share with you. 49:43 As a matter before we go to our news break, 49:44 I wanna just go ahead and give them a chance 49:46 to gain some information. 49:48 And then we're gonna come back and on the other side of this, 49:51 give you an opportunity to just recapitulate 49:56 or readdress what we talked about and let people know 49:58 that this is something that every one of us. 50:02 Now, my wife has already signed up. 50:04 I know that I have to sign up 50:06 because hey, as a pastor, 50:08 I'm always looking for some new information. 50:11 Nothing can be worse than stale bread 50:14 and if you didn't hear it, these are 4K graphics. 50:18 You know, I just shared the graphics 50:19 from the old New Beginnings with my local pastors. 50:22 They said, we don't have this library. 50:24 Now I got to tell them, hey, there's some new graphics. 50:26 Good stuff. 50:28 It's just waiting for download. 50:29 I had the master library when I worked with master, 50:31 I mean, Mark Finley, a number of years ago, 50:34 he gave me the whole master library. 50:35 And a lot of pastors said, 50:36 where are you getting your graphics from? 50:38 And I just in our last pastor's 50:39 meeting showed them and they said, 50:40 "Could we get the graphics?" 50:42 I said, "Sure, anything to share the gospel." 50:44 Well, pastors, there's some new 4K graphics 50:47 and you can get them and we'll let you know how to get that. 50:50 But here's the information that you need 50:52 to find out more about ASI and the 3AM Call. 50:56 Here's the information, 50:57 the phone number and the website. 51:00 ASI is a Seventh-day Adventist organization 51:03 of supporting ministries, businesses and professionals 51:06 who are responding to the call of God 51:07 to actively share Christ's love and hope with the world. 51:10 If you would like to find out more 51:12 about becoming a 3AM missionary, 51:14 visit their website, the3amcall.org 51:17 That's the3amcall.org 51:21 You may also call them at (443) 391-7235 51:26 or write to them at ASI 9705, 51:30 Patuxent Woods Drive, Columbia, Maryland 21046. |
