Amen. 06:45 And we actually have lots to discuss. 06:46 But before we get right into the meat of what 06:50 we're going to be talking about today, 06:51 which is illness prevention, COVID prevention, let's... 06:55 Yeah, tell us a little bit about yourself 06:57 because there may be someone watching right now 06:58 that says, who is Lucia Tiffany. 07:00 Sure. 07:01 I'm really a nurse, a health educator. 07:04 I've been working with people, 07:06 helping them learn how to care for their body temples 07:08 since I was about nine years old. 07:10 And so this has been something that I have done 07:13 much of my life and really, really love seeing 07:16 how people can change their own health status 07:20 by the choices they make. 07:22 Praise the Lord. 07:23 And so that's exactly what you've come 07:25 to educate us on today. 07:27 And you're gonna be giving us, 07:28 I was going through this outline 07:29 of all of the incredible information 07:32 that you're gonna be sharing with us today. 07:33 And so let's dive straight into this. 07:35 We're living in interesting times. 07:37 You know, we live in the height of the world, 07:40 a height in disease and an illness. 07:43 And, of course, now we're living in 07:45 some rather interesting times with this pandemic, COVID-19. 07:48 And there's people out there that are living in fear 07:50 of whether or not they're going to get it, 07:52 maybe they've had it, maybe they're scared, 07:53 they're going to get it again, 07:55 maybe they've been to the hospital, 07:56 or maybe they've even lost loved ones to this disease, 07:59 or any other major disease or illness. 08:03 You've come to talk to us today about how 08:05 we can prevent those things and set us up 08:07 for living a healthier lifestyle. 08:09 So I'm going to just toss the ball to you, 08:12 and let you introduce what it is 08:13 we're going to be talking about. 08:15 Sure. 08:16 I'd like to start by just sharing that 08:17 I really identify with many of you as our viewers today, 08:21 in that we have many of us have lost friends 08:24 or family to this pandemic. 08:27 And, you know, it was about a year and a half ago in April, 08:31 April 14 of 2020, to be exact, 08:34 that I lost one of my uncles to COVID-19. 08:38 And I know what it's like to go through a loss 08:42 that not only is always untimely, maybe unexpected, 08:45 but then not be able to have access 08:47 to many of our normal grieving processes. 08:50 You know, the memorials, 08:51 to having family gather, all of those things. 08:54 And I know what that's like. 08:56 And so I want your listeners to know 08:59 that we are all here in this together. 09:03 But today, I want to share with you some things 09:05 that can bring hope, 09:07 some things that can maybe allay fear and anxiety 09:10 around what's going on in the world today 09:12 because God has some answers for us. 09:14 And we're going to be talking about that today. 09:16 Amen. 09:17 I'd like to start by asking our listeners a question. 09:19 Yeah. 09:20 As you are sitting here listening, 09:22 I would like you to think really deeply 09:26 about how is it that God brought you to this program 09:29 to join us today? 09:30 And what do you think you might be able to gain 09:34 from this program that can be a blessing to you, 09:37 maybe your family, or maybe even your larger community? 09:41 And as you think about that, 09:42 I want you to really focus as we go through the points 09:45 we're going to be discussing today 09:47 as to how can you actually use this to impact your own life, 09:52 your family's life and that larger circle. 09:54 So put a little thought into that, 09:56 and I'm so happy that you're here today 09:59 as we're going to be discussing this together. 10:01 Amen. Praise the Lord. 10:02 And I understand that, 10:04 you know, your passion is obviously health ministry. 10:07 And so tell us a little bit about what you've done, 10:10 you know, in recent times and leading up to now 10:12 that would kind of kick us off in this discussion 10:14 about what you have done 10:16 and what you're going to be talking about how we can, 10:18 you know, implement some of these practices 10:20 to become a healthier person 10:22 living during these difficult times. 10:23 Sure. 10:24 There's a couple of pieces to that. 10:26 One of them is that I happen to come 10:27 from a big family of lots of diabetics and pre-diabetics. 10:31 So that probably started a lot of my interest 10:34 in this particular aspect of health. 10:36 And it's an aspect that affects so many of us as Americans. 10:39 Right. 10:40 Not only in America, but around the world, 10:42 we're seeing rising rates of metabolic disorders 10:44 like metabolic syndrome, pre-diabetes, 10:46 and various kinds of diabetes. 10:49 So that was probably one of the things 10:51 that started me down this particular path. 10:54 And I just really have a passion to share with people 10:58 I work, especially with women 10:59 that want to reverse diabetes, but will work with anybody. 11:01 Sure. 11:03 I'm using God's pathway to health, 11:04 which we're going to discuss today. 11:06 Amen. 11:07 Here in America, you know, about half of our population 11:10 has pre-diabetes or diabetes, 11:12 but maybe 90% of the pre-diabetics 11:14 don't know it yet. 11:16 So part of my passion is helping people to realize 11:19 when it is they might actually need to take action 11:21 to prevent damage to their bodies. 11:23 Wow. That's amazing. 11:24 Praise the Lord. 11:25 Okay, so now let's transition into these major points 11:30 that you want to make today. 11:31 Because I understand we're limited in time, 11:33 but you have three major points 11:35 that you're going to share with us today 11:36 as to what we need to focus our attention 11:38 on in practicing preventative approaches 11:43 to making sure we don't get sick. 11:44 So transition into that for us. 11:47 Okay, the first thing we're going to talk about today 11:49 is the importance of prevention and what that entails. 11:52 We're going to be talking about the impact of very early 11:55 and aggressive treatment for COVID. 11:57 And we're going to talk about God's wisdom 11:58 and giving us a solution. 12:00 Now, you know, there's a really important reason 12:03 why I want to share this life saving information 12:05 with our audience today. 12:07 And that is because not just because 12:09 an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of care, as they say. 12:14 And it's not just because illness is very expensive. 12:16 Sure. 12:17 You know, last year 2020, 12:19 we had one and a half million people 12:20 calling into work sick every single month. 12:24 But it's because God has given us a pathway for health 12:28 that is simple, inexpensive, and accessible to all. 12:31 Absolutely. Absolutely. 12:33 Okay, so let's break these down, 12:34 because you just listed them there. 12:37 Let's take on point one, because I'm kind of, 12:39 I'm thinking of this in a very systematic way, 12:42 I know as I'm taking notes. 12:44 Let's start with the first one. 12:45 So we're looking at the importance of prevention. 12:47 Why... There may be someone right now at home thinking, 12:50 you know what, you're going to get sick no matter what, 12:52 it's not gonna, nothing's really going to help 12:53 because some people have that mentality 12:55 that it's not really going to matter what you eat, 12:57 what you drink, what you do, 12:58 as far as the lifestyle practice, 12:59 you're going to get sick anyway. 13:01 So let's talk about the importance of prevention? 13:03 Okay. 13:04 You know, we can prevent many infections by addressing 13:07 the preventable chronic illnesses, lifestyle diseases 13:11 that are primary contributors to death from COVID-19. 13:14 You know, we've all been hearing about that. 13:16 Diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, 13:19 our national level of deaths from COVID is highly impacted 13:23 by our overall poor health status as a nation. 13:26 Right. 13:27 But you know, that even 13:28 in the face of those terrible statistics, 13:31 we have more people dying from heart disease, 13:33 smoking and diabetes than we do from COVID. 13:37 So, you know, we really need to broaden our view and say, 13:40 "What do we need to do to prevent?" 13:43 Right, right. 13:44 Okay, so let's talk about some of the... 13:46 Let's get into some of these individual points 13:49 because when you mentioned heart disease, diabetes, 13:52 some of these individual points here. 13:55 There are other lifestyle practices 13:57 or not necessarily lifestyle practices, 13:59 but there are diseases that come upon us 14:01 that basically set us up for becoming more sick. 14:06 Talk a little bit about that before we transition 14:08 to the next point here? 14:09 Well, you know, our personal health status, 14:12 whatever we are experiencing 14:14 is largely the result of our choices. 14:16 Right. 14:17 A lot of times it's out of ignorance, 14:19 maybe we just don't know what we need to do to be healthier. 14:23 I work with a lot of diabetes clients 14:25 that want to reverse their diabetes, 14:27 and they tell me "Well, I really know what to do. 14:30 I mean, I know I need to exercise 14:31 or I need to know I need to eat healthier, 14:34 but I really have trouble sticking 14:36 to any of those changes." 14:39 And often the greatest obstacle to actually finding success 14:43 is understanding what are the appropriate motivations 14:46 for lifestyle change, and how do we get the willpower 14:52 to stick to those changes, right? 14:54 Right, right. 14:55 And to me, the key when I work with people 14:57 like that is help them understand 14:59 that we have to plugged into a power source. 15:01 Okay. 15:02 And that power source is God. 15:04 He's the only one that can actually give us the power 15:07 to follow through on all of our good intentions. 15:09 Right. 15:11 But that's what He wants to do and He gives us promises 15:13 that He stands behind in this respect. 15:16 Amen. 15:18 So let's talk about some of the things 15:20 that we can do to improve our chances of not getting sick, 15:23 okay, whether it's COVID, whether it's, 15:26 whatever illness out, there may be just the common flu, 15:29 the common cold, or maybe there's someone watching 15:31 right now with cancer, or maybe there's, 15:35 you know, maybe they have cancer in their family, 15:37 in their genetics. 15:38 There are certain lifestyle practices or things that we can 15:40 practice that will set us up to prevent those things. 15:44 So take us through that, let's walk us 15:46 through those practices we can do? 15:48 Okay. We're gonna get into some details in just a minute. 15:50 Sure. 15:51 But I still want to give just a little bit of a broader 15:53 overview of where we're going with that. 15:55 Because I think it's really, really important for people 15:57 to understand the power of the will. 15:58 Okay, yeah. 16:00 You know, the power of the will is not valued as it should be. 16:03 Let the will be kept awake and rightly directed, 16:06 and it will impart energy to the whole being, 16:09 and will be a wonderful aid in the maintenance of health. 16:13 By the exercise of willpower, 16:15 in placing themselves in right relation to health, 16:18 that's about these practices 16:20 we're going to be talking about. 16:21 Patients can do much to cooperate 16:23 with the physician's efforts for their recovery. 16:25 There are thousands who can recover if they will. 16:30 And that's from one of my favorite books, 16:31 the Ministry of Healing. 16:32 All right, okay. 16:34 And it really kind of puts things 16:35 in the correct perspective. 16:37 Anything we choose to do, 16:38 in terms of particular behaviors, 16:41 needs to be in an understanding that as we do that, 16:44 we're bringing ourselves into harmony 16:45 with the way God designed our bodies to work. 16:48 And so as we fulfill His will 16:53 in applying those principles in our life, 16:55 we can experience His blessing in better health. 16:57 Right. 16:58 So you got someone right now watching, probably saying, 17:01 "But Lucia, I don't have willpower." 17:05 So I mean, but talk a little about that for a moment 17:07 because there's, you know, people struggle 17:09 with those choices, even though they know that 17:11 they shouldn't smoke, they still do, right? 17:13 They still make that choice, because they're addicted to it, 17:15 you know, they know that they shouldn't eat this 17:17 or drink that they still do, 17:19 because they know they're addicted to it. 17:20 So talk about how willpower comes in, 17:21 and how we might can improve our exercising 17:25 of willpower in those moments when we're in our, 17:28 at our weakest points? 17:29 Oh, that's a great question. 17:31 That's one of the reasons that I've developed 17:33 the resources that I have to help people 17:34 especially with that. 17:36 For example, I have an online diabetes reversal course, 17:40 it's like a three month course 17:42 that takes people through the educational components 17:44 that are really important 17:45 to being able to have the willpower 17:47 and the motivation to stick with choices. 17:49 So one on one coaching, 17:51 or the art and science of plant-based cooking club, 17:54 for those that are looking at choosing foods 17:56 that will really promote their health that I do is a Zoom 18:00 delivered membership and other free resources. 18:03 All of those are to help people to understand more deeply 18:08 the causes behind what they're suffering for. 18:10 Because one of the principles of health is that 18:12 we always want to address the root cause, 18:15 not just the symptoms. 18:17 And so the whole willpower, 18:20 the root cause of our problem with willpower 18:22 is often we don't know what it means to trust God. 18:25 And we need to grow in our relationship with Him 18:28 and our ability to tap into that power 18:30 that only He can provide. 18:32 Amen. Amen. 18:33 And so all of this kind of goes together, 18:35 it's like a whole package, you can't take pieces apart, right? 18:38 Absolutely, depending on God. 18:39 And we're going to talk a little bit more about that, 18:41 and depending on the Lord 18:43 to give us that power to overcome, 18:45 and to grab this bull by the horns. 18:47 And it's not us necessarily having to do it all 18:49 by ourselves, right? 18:50 God gives us the power to do so. 18:52 I know we're gonna get into, 18:53 I kind of jumped the gun earlier 18:55 by asking about those preventative practices. 18:56 We're going to get into that 18:58 in a later portion of this interview. 19:00 But let's talk about, you know, addressing this COVID situation 19:04 in its early stages, 19:06 or hopefully before it comes on, right? 19:07 Yes. 19:09 Let's talk about that. 19:10 So talk to us how we can, how we can fight COVID now, 19:12 either we might have had it, maybe we haven't had it, 19:15 but make sure we don't get it or in the case 19:17 that we do we can lower our chances of ending up 19:19 in a hospital or doing further damage to our bodies? 19:22 I love that, that we're going to deal 19:25 with the first part of that next, 19:26 which is the how do we prevent it. 19:28 I want to talk a little bit directly about 19:30 some of the things we have access 19:32 to that can make a huge difference. 19:34 If we start to get ill, we suspect it's COVID, 19:37 maybe we don't know yet 19:38 or maybe we find out it is COVID. 19:40 You know, back in May of last year, 19:42 I was listening to a public radio 19:45 program called, "Ask the Doctor" 19:47 and somebody came online and they said, 19:49 "So, doctor, this is my question. 19:52 If I start to feel sick, 19:53 you know, maybe I have a bit of a cough or a bit of a fever. 19:56 Maybe I'm losing my taste and my smell. 19:59 What can I do before I'm sick enough 20:01 to come to the hospital?" 20:03 Okay. 20:04 The answer the physician gave was, "Wear a mask, 20:07 wash your hands, self-isolate, and if you have a temperature, 20:11 take a Tylenol." 20:12 Oh, okay, wow. 20:14 And I kept listening, I kept like, "Okay, and, and..." 20:17 And there was no more. 20:19 And I was really devastated that this was 20:23 what people were hearing on a national basis. 20:25 All right. 20:27 Because I was like, "Oh no, there are so many things 20:29 that you can do in that early stage of illness, 20:33 whether it's COVID, or some other viral 20:35 or bacterial infection, 20:36 even if it's just a normal cold or flu." 20:39 And you can imagine that there's thousands, 20:41 maybe millions of people that are getting 20:42 that same information from their doctors. 20:44 Yes. It's very true. 20:46 And so we're not really hearing about answers 20:49 on how to prevent the progression 20:51 of infections like COVID in our body. 20:54 You know, by last April or May. 20:56 So it's been quite a while now, we were showing, 20:59 they had good studies showing kind of the progress 21:02 of COVID in your body. 21:04 And it had three phases. 21:06 And the second phase, 21:07 which is the one we're going to focus on here, 21:09 started from the time you were infected, 21:12 and through your first week of symptoms. 21:15 So sometimes you are exposed, 21:17 and you might have five days with no symptoms at all. 21:20 And then you start to feel something, right? 21:22 A little bit of sore throat, or cough or runny nose. 21:26 And that phase usually lasts about a week. 21:29 So that's a total of about 12 days from the time 21:33 COVID has entered your body to the end of phase two.. 21:36 What they found that I thought was so fascinating, 21:39 was that if your body was able to fight off COVID 21:43 in that second phase where you had symptoms, 21:46 so you knew something was going on 21:48 but before it went into the third phase, 21:51 that that was the really key time to overcome the disease. 21:56 If your body couldn't overcome it 21:58 in the first seven days of symptoms, 22:00 then you were much more likely to end up in the hospital. 22:04 And once you were in the hospital, 22:05 things tended to progress 22:07 in the bad direction pretty quickly. 22:09 About 80% of infected people are able to kick it 22:12 in that first week. 22:13 Okay. 22:15 The 20% that don't are the ones that end up in phase three. 22:17 So they might end up in the hospital needing oxygen, 22:20 ICU or even a ventilator. 22:22 But once you get into that phase three, 22:24 your mortality risk just skyrocket. 22:28 So it's really important that we attack it early on. 22:32 That's right. 22:33 So they found that if you have a really strong immune system 22:37 that is really working well. 22:40 And that's the innate part of the immune system 22:42 that kicks in first, that that is really important 22:45 and God's pathway to health 22:47 actually helps us build that innate immune system. 22:48 Isn't that amazing? 22:50 That's right. 22:51 So we want to talk about a lot of those things 22:53 that can be implemented right away. 22:54 Sure. 22:55 Before you have a positive test, 22:57 or even if you have something besides COVID. 23:00 Amen. Amen. 23:02 Okay, so let's go a little bit further with this. 23:04 Because there's someone watching at home that says, 23:07 okay, you've given me the statistics. 23:09 So now what, what comes next? 23:10 Okay, so a couple of outlines here 23:14 is that you want to start these treatments as soon as you can. 23:18 And if you do end up with a positive test for COVID, 23:22 try to find a health provider that will support you 23:24 in aggressive early treatment. 23:26 Sure. 23:27 Some of them are better educated on that than others. 23:29 But you want to really get that partnership going, 23:34 if possible. 23:36 One of my husband's cousin's, for example, 23:38 came down with COVID just a few weeks ago, 23:40 and she is fairly healthy, was doing a lot of health practices 23:44 and avoiding junk food and exercising 23:46 and all those sorts of things. 23:48 But she got so sick, she was really getting weak, 23:50 and she couldn't quite kick it in that first week. 23:53 So she decided she would go to a doctor to see 23:56 if she could get some aggressive 23:57 outpatient treatment, because there are some things 24:00 that can be done outpatient, 24:02 without going into the hospital. 24:03 When she showed up and they found out that at that point, 24:07 she hadn't been vaccinated, 24:08 they weren't really happy with her, 24:10 and they ended up sending her home with no help. 24:12 And even so a lot of people are finding that, 24:16 that's not always a place where you can get help. 24:18 So knowing what you can do at home is really important. 24:22 So some of those things that you can start right away 24:25 and you have nothing to lose, 24:26 even if you don't end up getting sick is hydrotherapy, 24:30 like the hot and cold showers, fomentation to the chest, 24:34 inhalations of oregano, and so on. 24:37 And we can't go into details on those here. 24:39 But those are just to give you some ideas of things 24:42 that can be done at home. 24:43 Then we have nutraceuticals, 24:45 that's just a fancy name for those. 24:46 Yeah, right... 24:48 What's nutraceuticals? 24:49 Like vitamins and supplements, things like that. 24:52 Vitamin C and D, Zinc lozenges several times a day Quercetin, 24:57 N-acetyl cysteine often known as NAC, 25:01 all of those things can really help. 25:03 NAC can help with them, breaking down clots 25:06 that can form in your body associated with COVID. 25:08 Right. 25:10 So it's really important 25:11 that if you have classic symptoms of COVID, 25:12 like you've lost your taste and your smell, 25:14 for example, on top of other things 25:16 that you might want to ask your care provider 25:19 about following something called the FLCCC protocol, 25:24 known as I-MASK+, something can be found online, 25:28 it's evidence based, it's something you can take 25:30 and show your doctor and say, "Look at this, 25:32 because it's something you can help me with." 25:33 Those are things that you can do early on in that first week. 25:38 Your only options are not just, 25:41 you know, waiting for treatment till you're seriously ill. 25:43 There are things you can do early on. 25:46 Right. Absolutely. 25:47 And so again, you know, we right now with, 25:50 you know, with the vaccine talk and all that, 25:52 and of course, we're not, you know, here to tell you 25:54 whether you should or should not get the vaccine, 25:55 that's your personal choice. 25:57 But yet many people have that idea 25:59 that the vaccine is all that I need, or all, 26:01 you know, that's really my only option that I have. 26:04 And there's been people that have taken the vaccine, 26:05 and they still get sick, or they end up in the hospital. 26:07 So what we're talking about here is with, 26:10 though, whether you have or have not gotten the vaccine. 26:12 Right. 26:13 And obviously, whether you have or have not gotten sick, 26:16 now we're going to get into the nitty-gritty 26:18 as to what we can do to prevent this 26:22 or to certainly significantly decrease 26:24 our chances of getting sicker. 26:26 So let's talk about that. 26:27 Let's talk about where we go from here? 26:30 You know, those are really key points. 26:31 I love the verse that Isaiah 55:8-9 where it says, 26:34 "My thoughts are not your thoughts, 26:36 neither are My ways your ways, saith the Lord." 26:39 For as My ways are higher than your ways. 26:43 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth," sorry, 26:45 "so are My ways higher than your ways 26:48 and my thoughts than your thoughts." 26:50 So God is really bigger than many of the things 26:54 we're hearing, or know about in this regard. 26:56 But we can trust that as we follow His simple instructions, 27:00 we could ask for His blessing in our life. 27:02 Amen. 27:04 You know, in another really interesting passage 27:08 that I came across by one of my favorite authors, 27:11 she said that the sooner 27:14 we as a people stand on the principles of health reform, 27:17 the greater will be the blessing 27:19 to those who are doing true medical work. 27:21 And she talks about examples of what is this work, 27:24 it's to treat the sick with water, 27:26 which we're talking about today, 27:27 teaching them to make the most of sunshine 27:29 and physical exercise. 27:31 And in simple language, 27:33 teaching people how to preserve health and avoid sickness. 27:36 This is true science. 27:37 That's right. 27:39 We hear a lot of talk about true science today. 27:41 But this is where we find true science. 27:44 You know, true education leads us to teach the sick 27:49 as health educators like I find myself in that position. 27:53 I like to teach people that you don't need to call a doctor 27:57 any more than you might have to call in a lawyer. 27:59 Now, do we need lawyers once in a while? 28:00 Of course. 28:01 Absolutely. 28:03 So there is definitely a place for doctors 28:04 and the medical work that they can do. 28:06 Amen. 28:07 But there's so much that we can do for ourselves. 28:09 That's what we're going to be talking about here next. 28:12 Okay. 28:13 So in our conversations, before we had this interview, 28:16 I heard you mentioned pathway to health, 28:19 talking about creating and setting up a pathway 28:21 to where we can be healthier people. 28:23 So talk to us a little bit about this pathway to health 28:26 that you also teach? 28:28 Okay, we have a graphic I'd like you to see, 28:31 called God's pathway to health. 28:33 And I just, it's kind of a way that I've summarized 28:35 the principles of health as I understood them best. 28:38 Studying biblical principles 28:40 and instruction God has given us. 28:42 And we see at the very top 28:44 is a pathway that kind of starts at the top 28:46 and then works its way down. 28:48 Sure. 28:49 The first line at the top 28:51 is using the eight laws of health. 28:54 The acronym NEWSTART helps us remember that, 28:56 as well as healthy relationships. 28:58 Sure. 29:00 Because there is a very strong social emotional component 29:02 to health. 29:04 When we are anxious, fearful, 29:07 suffering from broken relationships, 29:09 it directly impacts our immune system. 29:11 Of course, right. Absolutely. 29:12 And it makes it harder for our immune system to fight disease. 29:16 So having these healthy relationships 29:19 and social emotional connections are vital. 29:23 These eight laws of health are about healthy behaviors 29:27 that we can choose to implement that in NEWSTART, 29:30 for example, is about healthy nutrition. 29:32 Following God's principles of a whole food plant-based diet 29:35 as explained to us in the Bible, 29:37 as given to Adam and Eve in Genesis. 29:41 E is for exercise. 29:42 The importance of movement in our lives. 29:45 Not all of us can exercise at the same, 29:47 to the same degree or the same kinds of things, 29:49 but we can hopefully all move some part of our bodies 29:52 and using the abilities we have to improve our health 29:57 is where we start. 29:58 W is for water, that's the use of water inside, 30:01 drinking water, making sure we're well hydrated 30:03 and water outside. 30:05 Absolutely. 30:06 Bathing, hot and cold therapies 30:08 like contrast showers, hot foot baths. 30:11 All of these are ways to use water 30:13 in ways that boost our health and improve our immune system. 30:17 S is for sunshine. 30:19 Sunshine, of course, is huge for our mood. 30:22 It's huge for the production of melatonin, 30:24 which is a healing hormone in our body. 30:27 It's important for producing vitamin D, 30:30 which is vital in viral illnesses. 30:33 Okay. 30:34 In fact, we have studies showing 30:36 that if people are low in vitamin D, 30:41 that they actually have a much harder time in the hospital 30:44 getting over COVID. 30:45 Right, right. 30:46 So even in the hospital, 30:48 they're checking people's vitamin D levels. 30:49 And if people are low, 30:51 it's one of the things they're starting with, 30:52 because it has such a huge impact on our immune system. 30:57 T is for temperance. 30:58 Okay. 31:00 That is the exercise of self-control, 31:01 moderation in things that are good, 31:03 and avoiding all of the things that hurt our body. 31:06 Yes, it is. 31:08 A is for air. 31:10 Okay. 31:11 Deep breathing, good posture, fresh air. 31:15 I am living in California right now 31:17 in that huge Dixie fire that many people have heard about 31:20 started 12 miles from our house. 31:22 So we have been enjoying the air pollution 31:24 from that for over a month. 31:26 Right. 31:27 So fresh, pure air is such a blessing of God 31:30 and we must do all we can to enjoy that. 31:34 R is for rest, 31:35 something that Americans are really bad at doing. 31:37 Right. 31:39 Even though we may work less hours a week 31:41 than many other cultures and communities, 31:44 we have a hard time truly resting. 31:46 Sure. 31:47 Getting enough sleep at night, resting from worry and anxiety, 31:51 observing God's weekly day of rest. 31:53 All of those are aspects that impact our health. 31:56 Absolutely. 31:57 And the last T is the most important. 31:59 That's right. That's right. 32:00 Trust in God. 32:02 Trusting in God is the biggest stress, 32:06 anxiety and fear reliever we can experience. 32:10 And if we find that we're still struggling with those things, 32:13 this is an aspect that can be so helpful to us. 32:16 Spending time each day focusing on His promises to us, 32:19 His promises for health, for peace, 32:22 for all of the things that we need, 32:25 because that is what He promises. 32:27 So that's what NEWSTART stands for, 32:31 You know, of all of those, 32:33 there's some things we have more control over than others, 32:35 even though most of these we have some aspect of choice. 32:38 But I think one of the areas with the biggest impact 32:41 is the area of nutrition. 32:42 Right. 32:43 It's interesting to me that I found 32:45 some cross cultural studies. 32:46 This was quoted by Brenda Davis 32:48 who does a lot of work with diabetics. 32:50 And she has shown that 71% of diabetics 32:53 on oral medications can be off of them in two weeks, 32:56 if they go to a completely plant-based diet. 32:58 Right. 32:59 So it just says something about the impact 33:01 in one little area that these choices can have. 33:05 Amen. 33:07 So can we bring back up that graphic? 33:09 That graphic was interesting, the pathway to health. 33:11 So it starts with these eight laws of health, 33:13 these natural remedies. 33:15 And then take us down to this now and explain it to us? 33:18 Because sometimes in spite of all we do 33:21 trying to do our best, we may still become ill, 33:24 we live in a broken world full of sin. 33:26 And we can follow laws of health 33:28 to the very best of our ability, 33:30 it is not a guarantee that we won't get sick. 33:33 But when we get sick, God still has answers. 33:34 Right, absolutely. 33:36 That second step on our graphic 33:38 is the first level of intervention. 33:41 Right. 33:42 So we want to choose our intervention... 33:43 So we bring the graphic back up one more time, 33:45 so we can have the visual here. 33:46 We want to do these interventions 33:48 in order and they're additive. 33:49 In other words, we don't stop doing the top level. 33:52 But we add level number one 33:54 for the first level of intervention, 33:56 which is a therapeutic application of NEWSTART. 33:59 So let's talk about what that is, 34:01 because that's where a lot of the core 34:02 of what we want to share this. 34:04 Absolutely. Yeah, go ahead. 34:05 So as we look at each of the eight natural remedies 34:07 we just looked at, there are ways 34:09 we can apply them therapeutically, 34:10 that is in case of illness. 34:13 So it's like a high level application, 34:16 a more intense application, maybe we might say. 34:19 So for example, for the N, nutrition. 34:22 Examples of what we can do therapeutically might be 34:26 a couple of days of a fast, a fruit fast or a juice fast. 34:32 Maybe one or two days of a complete fast. 34:34 Skipping just a few meals 34:36 or maybe looking at completely eliminated 34:39 refined and processed sugars and oils from our diet. 34:42 Those are things that directly affect our immune system. 34:44 And so when we see that we're coming down with an illness, 34:48 these are things we want to check on. 34:49 Are we doing this? 34:50 Can we do something a little bit better here? 34:53 Absolutely. 34:55 You can get more ideas of how to apply these principles 34:58 of therapeutic nutrition and plant-based nutrition, 35:01 which for a lot of people is a new thing. 35:04 At my website, theharvestcook.com 35:08 At theharvestcook.com 35:11 I have recipes and information on this nutritional aspect. 35:15 So that is something that you might want to check out 35:17 if you want more information. 35:20 Let's move to the second one, E. 35:21 Okay. 35:23 Therapeutic exercise that might be physical therapy 35:25 in some cases depending on what our issue is. 35:28 In most cases of sickness 35:29 unless we are absolutely too weak, 35:31 mild exercise on a daily basis in the outdoors 35:35 in the sunshine is therapeutic and helps 35:38 to recover from illness. 35:40 In fact, they even found in the 1918 flu pandemic, 35:45 that the military found that when they 35:47 put their sick patients' beds outside 35:50 in the fresh air and sunshine, 35:52 they recovered better than if they kept them indoors. 35:55 So this is something important for illness, not just wellness. 35:58 Wow. 35:59 W, the therapeutic use of water. 36:02 Hydrotherapy treatments is probably 36:04 the most intense way to do this. 36:06 And it's a powerful set of interventions all by itself. 36:10 We don't have time to go into that here, 36:11 but I want to share a resource with our listeners. 36:13 Yeah. 36:15 And that resource is a website 36:17 called HydrotherapyHub.com 36:22 Yes. 36:23 HydrotherapyHub.com 36:25 is put together by people that I know personally, 36:28 that are experts in the field of hydrotherapy, 36:30 that have had much experience, 36:32 have a lot of science behind these treatments. 36:36 There's good research 36:37 that shows the effectiveness of these treatments, 36:40 and they can get training and more information 36:42 and resources about hydrotherapy there, 36:44 so I really do recommend that. 36:45 Amen. 36:47 Saunas are another way to do hydrotherapy, 36:48 saunas and Jacuzzis. 36:50 Interestingly enough, 36:51 I think it was about November of last year, 36:53 study came out showing that Finnish people in Scandinavia 36:57 had half the mortality rate of COVID 36:59 as their Scandinavian neighbors. 37:01 Now that's really interesting, because they share a culture, 37:04 they share a lifestyle, they share geographic region. 37:06 Right. 37:07 And the conclusion of the study was that it was quite probable 37:10 that the reason was that the Finns religiously 37:14 take saunas two to three times a week. 37:16 Wow. 37:18 There are enough saunas in the country of Finland, 37:20 for everybody in the country 37:21 to be in a sauna at the same time. 37:23 That's amazing. 37:24 Isn't that amazing? 37:26 I know therapy is powerful. 37:27 It is. 37:29 This is wow. 37:30 So S for sunshine. 37:31 We're talking about light therapy. 37:33 So sometimes getting extra light, therapeutic temperance. 37:34 Stop smoking is a really big one. 37:37 You can improve your lung function in just two weeks 37:39 of stopping smoking. 37:40 And that's a huge comorbidity for COVID. 37:43 Absolutely. 37:44 Therapeutic air, deep breathing exercises. 37:47 Do you need to do something 37:48 to purify the air you're breathing? 37:50 We ended up having to invest in some air purifiers. 37:53 Therapeutic rest, you might need extra rest. 37:55 With COVID, it's very important 37:57 not to get up and go back to work too quickly. 38:00 Even when you feel good, you need to rest several more days. 38:03 And last but not least, 38:05 a therapeutic trust in Divine power. 38:07 We have the daily connection that we want to make with God. 38:11 But cultivating an attitude of gratitude. 38:13 Yes. 38:14 Focusing on what you have versus what you're missing. 38:18 And even special prayer and anointing are always 38:20 to apply these eight natural remedies therapeutically. 38:24 If we're looking at relationship issues 38:25 that need to be fixed, I really recommend 38:27 looking into the use of cognitive behavioral therapy 38:31 trained professionals 38:32 that actually address how we think about life, 38:35 because that has a huge impact on our emotions. 38:39 Having professional Christian counseling that knows... 38:42 A professional Christian counselor 38:44 that knows how to use these techniques 38:45 can be extremely helpful. 38:47 So that's step two. 38:48 Amen. All right. 38:50 So let's go back to our graphic here, 38:52 because you're going to take us down here a little bit more. 38:55 So we've just went through step two. 38:57 So now what happens from here? 38:59 Now, actually, that was step one, 39:01 step two will be intervention 39:03 is using extra things like charcoal, 39:05 herbs and botanicals. 39:06 And you add that to the things we just talked about, 39:08 in addition to. 39:10 After that, if that's still not enough, that dotted line shows 39:13 where we might need to access the medical system. 39:14 Okay. 39:16 So we might need some medical diagnostics, lab work, x-rays, 39:19 do we have pneumonia, that sort of thing. 39:22 The next step after diagnostics 39:24 might be pharmaceutical interventions. 39:26 There are times when antibiotics are appropriate. 39:29 There are doctors that have developed their own protocols 39:32 beyond the scope of this interview for treating COVID 39:34 and other related infections. 39:37 You know, it's... 39:39 I want to make it really clear here 39:41 that I am in no way advocating not accessing medical care. 39:44 Sure. 39:46 That's a really, really important, 39:47 it's a gift from God. 39:48 It doesn't mean we should never access pharmaceutical products, 39:52 but we need to be informed about our options. 39:53 Absolutely. 39:55 And make prayerful choices based on our best understanding 39:57 of biblical principles. 39:59 Absolutely. 40:00 So those are the main ones probably 40:02 would we need to access 40:04 for probably 90% of our illnesses. 40:08 If I can just see the graphic one last time, 40:09 I'll just review those few steps. 40:12 So after steps three and four of intervention, 40:16 the diagnostics and the pharmaceutical interventions, 40:18 we have steps five and six, 40:20 which are reserved for more like emergencies, 40:22 or serious illnesses where you might need surgery 40:24 or some other medical procedure, 40:26 or even in some cases, storm therapies, 40:29 chemotherapy and radiation are options 40:31 that people may avail themselves 40:34 of in certain circumstances. 40:36 But those are things we should need very rarely 40:38 when you get down to the end. 40:40 So I think that as we understand this pathway, 40:43 that it gives us guidance in like, what do I do next? 40:46 Sure. 40:48 And this is God's principles of health in practice. 40:52 Absolutely. 40:53 So you have just... 40:54 You just dropped a bomb of information on us here 40:57 in this last half hour. 40:59 Let's kind of go through and give kind of a summary. 41:03 And maybe some final thoughts here 41:05 as we're getting toward the end of this segment here. 41:08 Just give us some final thoughts and a summary 41:10 of everything you just kind of broke it, broke down? 41:13 Okay. 41:14 Number one, let's remember the importance of prevention. 41:17 Sure. 41:18 That is of staying well. 41:20 Right. 41:21 As we exercise the eight natural remedies, 41:23 and we put energy and time into our social and emotional bonds. 41:28 Those are ways that we can preserve 41:31 the intactness of our immune system. 41:34 We find that, for example, 41:35 people with strong social systems, 41:38 a number of close friends, healthy family relationships, 41:42 a connection with a faith community. 41:45 All of those are things that greatly impact 41:47 the outcomes of any illness they might get, 41:52 for example, working with diabetics, 41:54 I've seen some really interesting research 41:56 where diabetics that have a strong social system 41:58 actually live longer. 42:00 Right. 42:01 And that's after you take away all the other factors, 42:03 like what treatment are they doing? 42:05 Are they changing their lifestyle? 42:06 Just having healthy social connections, 42:09 impacts their length of life. 42:11 So we must never ignore those things. 42:14 And sometimes those are harder to identify and to deal with. 42:20 In my work, I have had experience dealing 42:23 with many people that come to me for health issues. 42:25 But we find that actually, 42:28 it has to do with sometimes unhealthy patterns of thinking, 42:33 emotional management issues 42:34 that don't really know how to do that. 42:37 They may have broken relationships, 42:39 they may have trauma in their background, 42:41 and all of these things impact 42:43 where people are with health. 42:45 And we must be so careful 42:47 that we never judge a book by its cover. 42:50 You know, I think a lot of people 42:54 after they know health principles, 42:56 they know some of the things we've shared today, 42:58 they're like, well, this is what so and so needs to hear. 43:01 Right. 43:02 Or my mother-in-law really needs to be following 43:05 this path, you know, pathway. 43:07 And God didn't give us these principles to separate us 43:13 from one another. 43:14 He gave in to us to bring unity. 43:17 As we look to serve each other 43:20 with what we learn and what we know. 43:22 God blesses that. 43:24 And it brings healing not only to ourselves, 43:27 but to others that we come in contact with. 43:31 So prevention is huge. 43:34 We have to tap into the power of good personal choices, 43:37 and that source of power, which is God. 43:40 That's right. Absolutely. 43:42 Because that is a real key, even non... 43:46 even non Christian organizations, like 43:48 Alcoholics Anonymous realize that 43:51 power outside of ourselves is necessary. 43:53 The impact of very early aggressive treatment, 43:55 which we reviewed. 43:57 If you feel like you're getting sick, 43:59 start doing step two. 44:01 Actually, I'm sorry, the first intervention step 44:04 after the pathway to health. 44:08 And the third one is realizing God's gift to us 44:11 in allowing us to know more about prevention and treatment. 44:15 Amen. Praise the Lord. 44:17 Well, I have to ask this 44:18 because I know we're getting down to the end of this, 44:20 but you mentioned that the nutrition aspect is huge. 44:23 That's probably where, especially here in America, 44:26 when you call it the Standard American Diet, the SAD diet. 44:30 A lot of people are not informed about 44:32 what they should and should not be eating. 44:34 You mentioned sugar earlier 44:35 and I remember recently watching a segment of a doctor 44:39 who was saying, you know, you really, really minimize 44:41 if not completely eliminate sugar consumption 44:44 because it significantly suppresses the immune system. 44:47 And like I heard this doctor say, 44:49 if you use so many grams of sugar 44:51 that you eat can suppress your immune system up 44:53 to like a half hour to an hour after you eat it 44:56 and your immune system becomes compromised at that point. 44:59 So talk about just for a moment, 45:02 what are some of the foods that we maybe should avoid? 45:04 And maybe the ones that we should probably add 45:07 to our diet in helping to increase in 45:10 and significantly cause, 45:12 you know, bring about a more stable immune system? 45:14 Oh, such a great question, Ryan. 45:17 Nutrition is one of those really impactful things. 45:19 So one of the... I like to have people add things 45:22 before they take things away. 45:23 Okay. 45:25 So add lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, 45:27 especially green leafy vegetables. 45:30 Okay. 45:31 Preparing them simply, steamed, 45:35 no oil, or very small amounts of oil are great ways 45:38 to really improve the nutrient density of your diets, 45:42 which enables you to have a stronger immune system. 45:46 So lots and lots of fruits and vegetables, that's huge. 45:50 The average American has very few servings 45:53 of fruits or vegetables. 45:55 And many people eat the same three fruits 45:57 day in and day out apples, bananas, and oranges. 46:00 But go to the produce section of your store 46:03 and fill up your cart with all the colors of the rainbow. 46:05 Okay. 46:06 The more colors, the more phytonutrients, 46:08 the more nutrient dense 46:10 and the more healthful your diet will be. 46:13 When we talk about avoiding, I think two top things 46:16 when we're looking at immunity are sugar and oil 46:19 because both of them work in our circulatory system 46:22 to slow down blood flow. 46:24 And perfect health depends upon perfect circulation. 46:28 So we want to do everything that maximizes our circulation. 46:32 And so those are probably two of the biggest things 46:34 and just staying away from refined and processed products. 46:37 Amen. Amen. 46:38 And, you know, you've mentioned like the hydrotherapy 46:42 and not only just consuming the water, 46:44 but also using water for prevention. 46:46 I can personally vouch for this because hydrotherapy, 46:48 I don't have a big tub or anything in my house. 46:50 But just simply doing contrast showers is powerful. 46:53 I went, myself and Danny Shelton and few others 46:56 went and played basketball a couple of nights ago, 46:58 and I came home and I just wasn't feeling very well, 47:00 I had really exerted myself, I jumped in the shower, 47:03 did the whole contrast shower hot and cold thing. 47:05 And it completely, I just felt so much better afterwards. 47:08 So hydrotherapy is powerful 47:10 following these eight laws of health 47:13 and also these therapeutic remedies 47:15 to improve your immune system is, is powerful. 47:18 And you know, there's maybe someone watching right now 47:21 that says, you know what? 47:22 "I want to know, I want to know a little bit more about this," 47:24 because obviously, we've only been talking 47:25 about these in the last 40 or 45 minutes. 47:27 Where can they go to get a little bit more information 47:31 and maybe give us a call to action 47:33 as to where we can go from here? 47:34 Absolutely. 47:35 I want to encourage everybody listening today, 47:37 not to delay in starting to implement these things 47:41 that can help to strengthen your body defenses, 47:43 whether you've been vaccinated or not, 47:45 you, whether you're diabetic or not, 47:47 these are very important. 47:49 Because I share these things with you today, 47:51 not just because it's important for us to know these things, 47:55 not just because that illness cost a lot of money. 47:59 It's because God has a plan for us, 48:02 and I want you to enjoy His plan for you. 48:05 So check out my website at LuciaTiffany.com 48:08 where you can find assessments, 48:11 how to figure out where you are right now, 48:13 so that you can figure out the most logical next step 48:16 for health improvement. 48:17 Other resources that can help you in your progress 48:20 to better health starting today. 48:24 On the homepage, you're also going to find a button 48:27 for 3ABN program resources, 48:29 where I'm going to put in a lot of links 48:31 to some of the statistics we've referred to today, 48:33 extra resources in the different areas 48:36 of immune health that we have discussed. 48:39 You can get a lot more access to information. 48:43 You can also email me at Lucia@LuciaTiffany.com 48:49 Either way are good ways to get in contact with me. 48:51 I'd love to talk with you. 48:53 If you have questions about what is the next step 48:56 that I should take? 48:57 How do I know if I should really focus on, 49:00 you know, weight loss, or better lung health, 49:03 or better circulation? 49:06 You know, everybody can't make all the changes all at once. 49:10 So changes often are more successful and more sustainable 49:14 if they are done step by step. 49:16 Absolutely. 49:17 So in all of my education, 49:20 I like to figure out where people are. 49:22 It's what I call GPS to better health. 49:24 G is, we get a baseline so we do an assessment, 49:27 figure out where you are with your diabetes 49:30 or other chronic health issue 49:32 or just kind of where are you in general. 49:34 So we do the assessment, get a baseline. 49:37 The P is pick a destination. 49:40 So what's your next goal based on the priorities 49:42 that you can set in that first G, 49:45 getting a baseline, then you can figure out 49:47 what do I need to do next. 49:49 And then the third step is set up a support system. 49:53 For a lot of people, 49:54 it's the support system that's missing. 49:56 And they need that to be successful 49:59 in sticking to lifestyle changes. 50:02 So I like to provide accountability services, 50:05 as well, which for some people is the key piece 50:08 that's missing. 50:10 Maybe they don't have the level of support they need 50:11 in their family or with their friends. 50:14 But there are other ways to get that support, 50:16 so that you can be successful 50:18 in GPSing your way to better health. 50:21 I love that. 50:23 Thank you so much for sharing with us today, Lucia. 50:26 And we're not quite finished yet, 50:28 because she had mentioned earlier 50:30 how you can get in contact with her, with her website, 50:33 also through her email address. 50:36 We want to encourage you, my friends, this is the gospel, 50:38 this is the right arm of the gospel. 50:40 Well, we've been sharing the health reform 50:42 and health message that Jesus cares about our health. 50:45 And we see there in the gospel 50:46 that He spent more time healing people 50:48 than He did actually preaching. 50:50 And I know we've heard that many times. 50:51 But it's powerful to know that God has created us, 50:54 He has these natural health preventative measures 50:58 that we can take to set us up for better health. 51:00 And so, we want to help you know 51:03 how you can get again in contact with Lucia 51:05 and her ministry to get more information 51:08 to them to have access to more resources, 51:11 and also to be able to contact her as well. 51:13 So right now we're going to go to an address role 51:15 where you can contact Lucia. 51:19 For more information on Diabetes Reversal Coaching, 51:22 you can write to the Lucia Tiffany at 3844, 51:25 Grizzly Creek Road, Oroville, California 95965 51:30 or text her at 530-712-3664. 51:36 That's 530-712-3664. 51:41 You can email her at Lucia@LuciaTiffany.com 51:46 That's Lucia@LuciaTiffany.com 51:49 or visit her website, LuciaTiffany.com |
