It's nice to be here, Jason. 02:29 Yes, yes. 02:31 Now, I can't wait to get the update 02:32 about what's going on, 02:34 what's taking place with AWR, 02:35 because I know there is a lot going on. 02:39 But before we go to all of that, 02:40 we're going to be blessed in song 02:42 by Scott Michael Bennett, 02:44 and he's singing, You Raise Me Up 03:04 When I am down 03:08 And, oh my soul, so weary 03:13 When troubles come 03:16 And my heart burdened be 03:21 Then, I am still and wait here 03:26 In the silence 03:29 Until you come 03:32 And sit awhile with me 03:37 You raise me up, 03:40 So I can stand on mountains 03:45 You raise me up, 03:48 To walk on stormy seas 03:53 I am strong, 03:55 when I am on your shoulders 04:00 You raise me up 04:03 To more than I can be 04:12 There is no life 04:14 No life without this hunger 04:19 Each restless heart beats 04:22 So imperfectly 04:27 But I look up 04:29 And I am filled with wonder 04:34 Sometimes, I think 04:37 I glimpse eternity 04:42 You raise me up, 04:45 So I can stand on mountains 04:49 You raise me up, 04:52 To walk on stormy seas 04:57 I am strong, 05:00 When I am on your shoulders 05:04 You raise me up 05:07 To more than I can be 05:18 You raise me up, 05:21 So I can stand on mountains 05:25 You raise me up, 05:28 To walk on stormy seas 05:33 I am strong, 05:36 When I am on your shoulders 05:40 You raise me up 05:43 To more than I can be 05:51 You raise me up 05:55 To more than I can be 06:21 Wow. 06:22 Praise the Lord for that beautiful song 06:24 and powerful message. 06:26 You know we're focused on evangelism. 06:28 And AWR is huge on evangelism. 06:31 And that's one of the things that I love about AWR. 06:34 But what has been going on lately? 06:38 God is blessing in a wonderful way. 06:41 We love evangelism, we started over 50 years ago 06:44 and it's just growing and growing. 06:46 We have about 1000 stations 06:47 around the world that we work with. 06:49 And it's exciting working with 3ABN 06:53 it's just a highlight for us. 06:55 We just got back, just got back from the Philippines 06:59 where something that started about five years ago. 07:03 We have a Center for Digital Evangelism there, 07:06 and it's doing really well. 07:08 We have young people who go and preach 07:10 and teach and do evangelism. 07:12 But we got contacted by Robert Dulay, 07:14 who is one of our workers, 07:16 and he said that we have this island. 07:20 It's called Mindoro, 07:21 just outside of the Philippines. 07:22 And we've been going there for a number of years. 07:25 And it's, we've known this that there are rebels there. 07:29 Fifty years ago, these communist rebels 07:31 invaded the island, 07:33 they have controlled the mountains 07:34 for the last 50 years. 07:36 Wow. They're assassins. 07:37 Wow. 07:39 They have killed 40,000 people, 07:42 Forty thousand people 07:43 and they've been there for the last 50 years? 07:45 Fifty years, 52 years or so. 07:47 Yeah, about the same time we started, 07:49 they started, I guess. 07:51 Maybe the Lord saw what was coming 07:54 and had us go too. 07:56 And so we've been there too working in that island. 07:58 And we figure something out. 08:00 As we have taken different groups 08:01 in all of us have gone and preach 08:04 and we take staff and we take college students, 08:07 Kathy and I have taken probably 2000 08:09 different ones on different trips, 08:11 different kinds of trips to preach and do evangelism. 08:13 We know because what it does to their lives, 08:15 it changes their lives. 08:17 And so we have gone to the Philippines, 08:19 gone to Mindoro several times, it seems to be a very good air, 08:23 it's easy to get into, you fly to Manila, 08:25 then you take a ferry and you go across 08:28 and you can do your meetings and we always meet 08:31 with some of the leaders 08:33 secretly kind of well through 08:36 different relatives of theirs actually. 08:38 Okay. 08:39 And in it, we figured out that if we give them $1,000 08:42 for medicine, for medicine... 08:46 For medicine, okay. 08:47 I got you, I'm with you. 08:48 Then they don't shoot us. 08:51 Well, that's pretty deal. 08:52 That works. 08:54 So you get to keep your life. 08:56 Yes, that works. 08:57 So it's worked very well. 09:00 And we just, well, we started something, 09:05 called Ted, 09:06 when I went to the General Conference. 09:08 I've been working with Ted, Elder Wilson before that. 09:10 Yes. 09:12 And we had just done a series of meetings together 09:15 in Harare, Zimbabwe. 09:17 And he became, 09:19 he had been president for five years. 09:22 And then he asked me to come to the GC, 09:24 General Conference and Sabbath school and now, 09:26 this is just a year, two years later, I guess. 09:31 And so we decided to do something there 09:35 and in the Philippines with total member involvement, 09:38 we wanted the Japanese to come. 09:42 We had these big projects of TMI. 09:44 Okay. Okay. 09:45 So we first went to Rwanda, 09:49 and there were 100,000 baptisms. 09:52 Wow, 100,000? Unbelieve. 09:54 TMI getting people, I mean, it took lots of people. 09:57 Sue, you went, you preached there in Rwanda. 10:00 It was thrilling. Amen. 10:02 And hence people were saying, 10:04 "Well, you ought to go to the heart areas." 10:05 So okay, so we said, let's go then to Japan. 10:10 Okay. That's kind of tough. 10:12 And so, we decided to do that. 10:15 And to do, to go and preach, 10:17 we connected with a number of our people there, 10:20 pastors and laypeople. 10:22 And we found out, Sue, 10:24 that they didn't do evangelism, or hadn't done it. 10:29 So we said, "Okay, here's what we'll do. 10:31 We'll take them to an easy area, 10:33 have them preach, 10:34 they'll be successful, and then they'll go back home." 10:37 Yes. 10:38 And so Kathy, and I were over there 10:39 five years ago, right now, 10:41 invited me for camp meeting, 10:42 and I told him, this is our plan. 10:44 And I thought this was really interesting. 10:46 Here we can take Japanese, Japanese to the Philippines, 10:52 you know some of that history. 10:54 Yes. Yes. 10:56 And have them preach in the Philippines to learn, 10:59 and the Philippines was loaded. 11:00 They're going to teach Japanese to do evangelism. 11:04 Wow. 11:06 So there was a major impact. 11:07 Yes, 11:10 So we went and preached at camp meeting. 11:12 I said, "Okay, guys," I wasn't at AWR yet, 11:16 I became president the next month. 11:18 But I said, "Why don't we use radio, 11:21 and broadcast these meetings, 11:24 and broadcast what we believe on radio, 11:27 like Bible studies and different things 11:28 and see how that works?" 11:30 In just a second, so we said, "This is great. 11:33 We will broadcast and then that'll prepare the churches 11:37 for the Japanese to preach." 11:39 Amen. That is beautiful. 11:41 Well, the Filipino pastors, Robert Dulay and others, 11:46 they said, "Since Elder McKey 11:50 is an assistant to Elder Wilson, 11:52 we won't laugh too loud 11:56 because they didn't think it work. 11:59 It will not work. 12:00 Okay, so the idea was to broadcast 12:03 and how the field prepared, 12:04 how the Japanese come and they would preach 12:06 and they would be successful, 12:08 because they were interested already. 12:10 And so, they started broadcasting. 12:13 We went back and talked to the Japanese 12:15 and they were getting ready. 12:17 And the first three weeks, nothing. 12:21 And then, Sue, something happened, 12:23 something happened there, 12:24 something called question of... 12:25 Question of the day. 12:27 So they thought, how can we know 12:28 if anyone's listening? 12:30 'Cause they had gotten zero response. 12:32 So they decided, 12:33 and I think it was God given to them 12:35 about this question of the day. 12:37 So they would have a message 12:39 maybe on what day is the Sabbath? 12:41 Yes. 12:42 And then the next day, 12:44 they would have this question of the day, 12:45 and regarding the previous day's topic. 12:49 And the first five people that would call 12:51 in would get a free gift. 12:53 Oh, wow. 12:54 Maybe, you know, Steps to Christ or little radio 12:58 or something like that. 12:59 And then the radio broadcasters 13:02 that, these are volunteers, church members, 13:05 they would deliver them personally 13:07 these gifts to the people. 13:09 And so they're starting to connect. 13:11 Yes. 13:12 And what was it, Duane, that first? 13:14 The first time they did the question of the day, 13:16 I think they had 300 people call in 13:18 and they're like, people are really listening. 13:21 So it is working. It is. 13:22 So it was like pop quiz with a price. 13:25 So you have this pop quiz with the prize, 13:27 and you're building relationships 13:28 and leading people to Christ. 13:30 That is incredible. That's incredible. 13:32 And so we decided to go over there 13:34 and see what's happening 13:35 and then get ready for the Japanese to come. 13:38 We talked to the Japanese and one of the presidents, 13:41 he was, he's really a nice guy, Obara. 13:43 He's president in Tokyo. 13:46 And, Sue, you talked to him. 13:48 And when he got there, and you asked him. 13:51 I asked him if he'd ever preached before. 13:53 'Cause this is a president of conference 13:57 or I don't remember union or conference. 13:58 Yeah, conference president. Conference. 13:59 And I asked him if he'd ever preached before. 14:02 And he goes, "Oh, no." And I said, "Really?" 14:05 And he goes, "No, I've only been 14:07 to one evangelistic campaign my entire life 14:10 and that was when I was young." 14:12 Wow. 14:13 I said, "So what do you do in Japan? 14:15 What's your way of evangelizing?" 14:17 He was, "Well, we do weekend events 14:20 on health or family relations." 14:25 I said, "So nothing doctrinal, nothing evangelistic?" 14:27 He said, "No." 14:29 And so my curiosity... 14:32 How were they growing? 14:33 Well, see, that was exactly my thought, Jason. 14:37 Sue is very smart. 14:38 Listen to what she asked him. 14:40 I said, "So how is that working for you?" 14:43 And he said, "It isn't working." 14:46 So anyway, they were excited to learn and to grow 14:52 and they did a phenomenal job in the Philippines. 14:56 And praise the Lord. Yeah. 14:57 How do you guys decide where to go? 15:01 Well as the Spirit leads us, 15:03 you know, we're getting a lot of interest right now 15:06 in Bangladesh and Guinea, some in, 15:09 and Colombia and Bogota and different places. 15:12 It's just, and then as we see things 15:15 getting more and more Nazareth, 15:18 just different places, and God is, 15:20 and we kind of go 15:22 where the Spirit leads that way. 15:23 Yes. When there's a lot of answers. 15:24 Yes. 15:26 I think, do we have a video that please, Kyle, right now? 15:29 Yeah, we have a video that talks about 15:32 the incredible impact, 15:34 because what was happening, 15:35 this is the amazing thing. 15:37 So as the radio was being broadcast 15:38 all over Mindoro, 15:40 what we didn't realize wasn't just village I mean, 15:44 many villages were listening, right, Duane, 15:45 and many villages, entire villages 15:47 became Seventh-day Adventist 15:48 as a result of these broadcasts. 15:50 I can't remember the number was it like? 15:51 Yeah, let... 15:53 I'll let Sue tell you this in just a second. 15:54 It was a lot. Yeah. 15:56 But not only were villages watching, 16:00 some of these rebels in the mountains 16:02 also began to listen, 16:04 that was the amazing part of the story. 16:06 Well, yeah. 16:08 And the thing is, Sue said, when we heard this, 16:10 she said, "Why don't we pray for him?" 16:12 And she began to, tell us that how you... 16:15 I just felt really impressed. 16:17 We, you know, that they need to hear too. 16:19 They may be killers, assassins, but they need to hear too. 16:22 And so I started praying, 16:24 and then I feel like the Lord impressed me, 16:27 a crazy prayer, Lord, bring this whole regime down. 16:31 Amen. Wow. 16:32 And so that's when I started praying. 16:34 It seemed so way above and beyond, 16:37 but I felt impressed that's what I needed to pray. 16:40 Amen. 16:41 And I'm thinking I've gone there several times. 16:44 Kathy and I've taken different groups 16:46 a number of times 16:47 that we were not praying that prayer, 16:49 we're just praying God, 16:51 "Don't let them shoot us." 16:53 Yes, keep us alive. 16:54 Yes. Gives $1,000. 16:57 When Sue tells me I'm thinking, "Well..." 17:02 Yeah, that's a big prayer. 17:03 Yeah, I know, yeah, just protect us. 17:08 Somehow, I don't think that God's going to change the heart 17:11 of assassins. 17:12 I just, I can't get past that. 17:16 But there's a twist in the plot. 17:17 With men this is impossible, but with God, 17:20 all things are possible. 17:21 Amen. 17:23 And so, we're going to show a video now 17:24 that's going to show you part of this incredible story. 17:26 Wonderful. Let's check that out right now. 17:30 One year ago, AWR 360 organized events 17:33 across the island of Mindoro in the Philippines. 17:36 Along with the broadcast, many meetings took place 17:39 and more than 2,000 were baptized. 17:42 Then soon after, over 77 new villages 17:46 turned their lives over to the Lord 17:48 as the layman radio host kept preaching. 17:51 But then some of the new listeners 17:53 made a surprise visit 17:55 to one of our AWR radio broadcasters, 17:58 Robert Dulay. 18:00 As he was biking home one day, 18:01 he saw four strangers at his front door. 18:05 They told him they were rebels. 18:09 On March 29, 1969, 18:11 The New People's Army was formed. 18:14 Armed with weapons, 18:15 they gradually infiltrated the country. 18:18 Their goals have been to overthrow the government 18:21 and establish a Mao-style communist regime. 18:26 They regularly ambushed police and military forces. 18:31 Are these men and women to be feared for their brutality, 18:34 to be rejected and abandoned? 18:36 Or is God calling His faithful 18:38 to go out into the highways and byways 18:41 to preach there too? 18:42 They pleaded with us 18:44 to send someone to the village to preach, 18:46 as they had been listening to the radio 18:48 and wanted to know more about Jesus. 18:51 It is now four months later, 18:53 AWR 360 is heading to the forbidden mountain area 18:57 in the midst of where these rebels live. 19:02 Our team boards a small mission helicopter. 19:07 And it takes us to the top of the mountain. 19:11 We are welcomed 19:13 and the natives eagerly give us a tour. 19:15 It's amazing to see how these precious people live. 19:19 Then I sit down with Efren, 19:21 the first one who started listening to AWR. 19:26 My life was always on edge. 19:28 I did many things I would rather not talk about. 19:32 But one day as I was listening to the radio, 19:36 something different came on. 19:38 It was AWR's health program. 19:41 As I listened, I discovered 19:43 that these people were helping many 19:45 with their health problems. 19:46 They also talked about the supreme healer, 19:49 one whose life was devoted to others rather than Himself. 19:54 This thought appealed to him, 19:56 and he felt the need to share it with others. 19:59 Then he began to wonder, 20:00 "Who are these people 20:02 who are sharing this loving message?" 20:05 He knew he had to find out for himself. 20:07 I had to know more. 20:09 So I sought out the speaker of this program. 20:13 I sent fellow members in my unit 20:15 to invite him to the mountaintop. 20:18 The road they took down many times 20:20 had been used to hurt or injure. 20:22 But this time, it was different. 20:26 My friends asked him, 20:27 "Please come preach to us in the mountains." 20:42 As they met, Efren shared 20:44 how he has a desire to learn more about Jesus. 20:49 And AWR 360 was happy to oblige. 20:53 Many laymen pastors also climbed the mountain to preach. 20:58 And soon, many new rebels heard about God 21:01 through the radio and Bible studies. 21:04 And they too have the need to share it with others. 21:09 And then the day came when Efren himself 21:12 walked down the mountain with one final request. 21:17 I want to be baptized, and so do many others. 21:23 And so on top of this once dangerous mountain, 21:27 laymen doctors healed those who were sick. 21:30 And the mouths were cleaned by the volunteer dentists. 21:34 Our AWR 360 team spoke with many villagers 21:38 and prayed with many more. 21:41 Additional rebels arrived 21:43 because they were interested in witnessing what was going on. 21:47 Our team preached to them, and then it was time to baptize 21:51 those who had made their decision for Christ. 21:54 It was a joyous walk to the baptismal site. 21:58 And I believe all of heaven was rejoicing with us 22:01 as we watched Pastor McKey baptize five rebel generals, 22:06 along with 60 other soldiers. 22:10 These men who were once killers in the land 22:13 have now died to self. 22:16 They have laid down their earthly weapons 22:18 and exchanged them for a heavenly reward. 22:23 What I witnessed today was truly a miracle. 22:27 In one of the most dangerous places on earth, 22:30 Adventist World Radio boldly went forth, 22:33 so yearning ears could hear 22:35 the mercy and forgiveness of Jesus. 22:38 Lives were changed for eternity. 22:40 And now many more have a new hope 22:43 of heaven forever. 22:45 And this is only the beginning. 22:49 Wow, what a powerful testimony of God's powerful, 22:53 His way that He can transform us. 22:55 Amen. Amen. 22:56 It is incredible. But there's more. 22:58 Oh, there's more. Tell me. 23:01 And that was just the beginning of these baptisms. 23:04 I remember when we were there Duane with Kathy, 23:07 and we got a report 23:09 that one whole village wanted to be baptized. 23:12 And then we heard a day or two later, 23:14 now there's three villages, 23:15 now there's five, and then it was over 50, 23:18 and then it was over 100. 23:20 And it's just amazing how God has worked, 23:24 and this has spread across. 23:26 And now they are 500 and... 23:28 Five hundred and forty three villages 23:30 we have. 23:31 We're working with. That's huge. 23:33 Yeah. It's amazing. 23:35 It's really amazing. 23:37 And even you went for the first time 23:40 and preached this time, 23:42 Bill, and this is kind of not in your area 23:46 but it is, this one is always for Jesus. 23:48 Yes. I'm a newbie at it. 23:50 I've been in denominational work for a long time 23:52 but never preached in evangelistic series before. 23:55 And this time, well, 23:59 maybe I'll give a report in a couple minutes 24:01 when we finish with talking about the rebels. 24:04 But there's a lot more to this story 24:06 than just the rebels. 24:07 Yeah, that's right. 24:09 So the incredible thing is that 24:12 after what we just saw on the video happen, 24:14 and these villages began to come to Christ, 24:16 hundreds of them. 24:18 The rebels themselves, of course, were coming to Jesus 24:21 and we were doing medical work as you saw in video 24:23 and preaching and so forth. 24:25 And so these former rebels are now coming to Christ. 24:30 And as time goes on, 24:32 even some of these generals 24:33 are making decisions for baptism, right? 24:35 And, of course, then the world changes, 24:40 COVID happens. 24:41 And we are not able to go there as we had planned. 24:45 In fact, Duane, you were asked to come and baptize 24:50 as I understand it, 24:51 the head general. 24:53 Isn't that right? It's right. 24:54 And his wife who were in charge 24:56 of the rebel forces there in Mindoro. 24:59 Yeah. 25:00 But we couldn't go because of COVID. 25:02 For two years, we were not able to go. 25:06 But during this time 25:07 we didn't stop doing evangelism. 25:10 The Lord laid on our heart the burden 25:12 to continue reaching not only the Philippines 25:13 but all over the world through YouTube, 25:15 Unlocking Bible Prophecy, 25:17 some of you may have seen those messages. 25:19 You guys partner with us on those. 25:21 Absolutely, Cami Oetman. 25:23 Cami Oetman, who is... 25:24 Yeah, and God worked incredible ways. 25:27 We had about 1000 people watch, is that right? 25:29 Maybe 2000. Maybe 2000. 25:31 They're a lot. 25:32 Let's say over 10 million... 25:34 Amen. Over 10 million. 25:37 And it's been translated in 36 languages so far. 25:40 That's big. That's really big. 25:42 And the amazing thing is like, 25:44 Cami did these from her living room 25:45 in front of her couch. 25:47 Sue you were there, you helped with that, 25:48 and just an incredible way that God blessed. 25:50 But going back to Mindoro, because even there in Mindoro, 25:53 they were watching, and our digital missionaries, 25:55 our young people, they were helping follow up 25:57 these contacts during COVID. 25:59 Even, get this, even though the churches were closed, 26:01 they still baptized because they had trucks, 26:06 pick up dump trucks that were lined with plastic, 26:08 filled them with water, drove around and baptize people 26:10 in the back of the dump truck. 26:12 Wow. It was a mobile baptism. 26:13 A mobile baptism, a mobile baptism. 26:15 That's huge. 26:17 And so thousands were getting baptized in Mindoro 26:18 as a result of Unlocking Bible Prophecies, 26:20 and Earth's Final Countdown, 26:22 but all of that was leading to the desire for us 26:26 to come back to the Philippines in person 26:30 because that general and his wife 26:32 still were waiting. 26:33 They wanted to be baptized. 26:35 Actually, we set up a time to go back and baptize them 26:38 just before COVID. 26:41 We were going to go, and we got there. 26:45 Do we have a video on that? Or do we? 26:46 That's coming in a moment. 26:48 Okay, you go ahead do that. 26:50 So exciting. Yeah. 26:52 This general, wow, he, 26:55 and we were used 27:00 as bait. 27:01 Wow, I will tell you that. 27:03 Oh, yeah. 27:04 I'm looking forward to hearing that story. 27:06 So that, so he's given us. 27:07 I think he just baited us 27:08 to keep watching to the end of the program 27:10 because we're going to watch that incredible story. 27:12 But here's so what we want to show you now is a video 27:16 that talks about what just happened 27:18 because we've just come back. 27:20 And by God's grace, 27:23 hundreds and hundreds of these rebels 27:25 have given their hearts to Christ, 27:27 wanting to be baptized, 27:28 and we were there just a little while ago. 27:31 Yes. 27:33 And we're able to baptize them by God's grace, so... 27:34 Amen. 27:36 You know, and I'll say this, 27:37 standing in that baptismal pool 27:39 with you looking at the changed lives 27:43 in front of us. 27:45 The faces that were hardened by years 27:47 of hard living and not having hope. 27:49 But now they had hope, and they had peace, 27:51 and many of them coming up with tears in their eyes. 27:54 It was an incredible moment. It was incredible. 27:56 I wouldn't trade it for anything. 27:58 No. 27:59 Yeah, so what video are we about to see? 28:01 We're going to watch a video about this, 28:03 what just happened in Mindoro. 28:04 You're going to see in this video, 28:06 hundreds of these former rebels being baptized, 28:09 now fully reconciled to the Lord Jesus Christ. 28:11 And you're going to see that head general and his wife 28:15 getting baptized as well. 28:16 Amen. That's huge. 28:18 Let's take a look at that right now. 28:20 Greetings, my friends. 28:22 I'm Dr. Duane McKey, President of Adventist World Radio. 28:24 It's so exciting to be alive. 28:26 You cannot believe what's happening right here 28:28 in Mindoro in the Philippines. 28:29 Thrilling, exciting things are happening. 28:31 It's unbelievable. 28:33 We see all kinds of people come out of the mountains 28:36 and they learned about Jesus 28:37 during the last four or five years. 28:38 And now they're all being baptized. 28:40 It is so exciting, 28:41 10,000 others have been baptized before. 28:44 And now thousands, maybe 3000 that they were expecting. 28:47 Beyond belief. 28:49 What an opportunity to see the power of God at work. 28:53 This is absolutely amazing. 28:55 Months and months of planning, 28:57 special endeavors to try and reach 29:00 those who have been rebels and are now former rebels, 29:03 new creatures in Jesus Christ. 29:06 What a great opportunity that Adventist World Radio 29:09 has had in sending the truth 29:13 through the airwaves to remote places. 29:16 It has been listened to 29:17 and hearts have been melted 29:19 through the power of the Holy Spirit. 29:21 Today is the culmination of so many months 29:25 and even years of planning, 29:28 and very dedicated so many were. 29:31 To see these people being baptized, 29:34 new people in Christ 29:36 and joining the Seventh-day Adventist Church 29:39 to become part of God's remnant people. 29:42 We praise God for the airwaves of AWR, 29:46 for the tireless working of those 29:49 who are here on the ground, 29:50 giving Bible studies and instructing 29:53 for the wonderful support from the various levels 29:56 of the organization in the Philippines 29:59 and the Southern Asia Pacific Division. 30:02 I just want to say my heart is full. 30:05 I am so excited. 30:08 And more than that, heaven is rejoicing. 30:13 Sometimes around the world 30:14 and you folks know this in some areas of the world, 30:16 when we had large baptisms, people think, 30:18 well, how are we going to keep helping them, 30:20 and especially in a situation like this, 30:22 where many of them have been in rebellion for 50 years, 30:26 40,000 people have died. 30:28 So as they give their hearts to Jesus, 30:30 and are baptized, 30:32 they have been making their living through extortion. 30:34 They've been making a living, 30:35 you know, by being hit people 30:37 and taking out people and shooting them. 30:39 We have unbelievable stories. 30:41 Anyway, now, when they give their hearts to Jesus, 30:44 and they turn in their machine guns, 30:47 how are they going survive? 30:48 Well, we have good news. 30:50 There is an ASI ministry called FARM STEW, 30:53 Joy Kauffman has contacted me, we work together. 30:56 They are working now with Robert Dulay 30:58 and others here in the mountains. 31:00 We're going to teach the people in the mountains, 31:01 how to be business people, how to raise gardens, 31:04 how to raise crops. 31:05 The government is giving them two acres of a land, a hectare. 31:10 That's really, that we can come here 31:12 and help them become self-sustaining. 31:14 So they won't have to take their guns 31:15 and shoot people to earn money. 31:17 But now, they can actually be productive citizens 31:20 of the country. 31:21 And the government here, 31:23 the military are so excited. 31:24 You know, they have tried. 31:25 They have tried. 31:27 Actually the chief of police told us a couple of days ago, 31:30 he said, "We have tried. 31:31 We have tried to bribe them. 31:33 We try to say, look, 31:35 we'll give you so much money a month 31:37 if you stop killing people. 31:39 We do all kinds of things." 31:41 They were not interested. 31:42 But when they heard Adventist World Radio, 31:46 when they heard good news that Jesus is coming again, 31:49 they laid down their arms and they were baptized. 31:51 Isn't that incredible? 31:53 What better gift can you give than connecting someone 31:56 though Christ our Savior? 31:58 That's a real gift. 32:13 Wow, now that's amazing. 32:14 They laid down their weapons and picked up Christ. 32:17 Amen. Amen. 32:18 Yeah, that's huge. 32:20 We said, we were saying 32:21 they traded their guns for Bibles. 32:22 Yes. 32:24 And not only that, but they, it changed their lives, 32:27 as we were seeing there in the video, 32:28 not only were they, 32:30 have they become Seventh-day Adventist Christians, 32:32 but they're also starting businesses. 32:34 And I have an example right here. 32:36 I love show and tell. 32:37 And I love doing here at 3ABN. 32:40 Duane, do you like these? Sue? 32:41 Oh, they are great. These are peanuts, Bill. 32:43 They're dry roasted. Jason, roasted in garlic. 32:46 Garlic, it's the Former Rebels Association Organic. 32:50 Former Rebels Association Crunchy Nuts Business. 32:52 Wow. 32:54 Some of the former rebels have, now they are doing a business 32:56 because they want to sustain themselves 32:58 and earn money to help the ministry. 33:00 And so it's really changing their lives 33:01 in a powerful and amazing way. 33:04 So, yeah. 33:05 And we've engaged also, we partnered with this ASI, 33:11 self-supporting ministry named FARM STEW, 33:13 which is an eight letter acronym. 33:15 Very little to do with farming, nothing to do with stew, 33:17 but it's an eight letter acronym, FARM STEW, 33:21 to help these rebels 33:22 become self-sustaining 33:24 and help them develop enterprise, good health, 33:28 healthy habits and that sort of stuff. 33:29 So FARM STEW going forward, 33:32 will be there in the Philippines, 33:34 assisting these rebels to integrate into society 33:36 and become really good, 33:38 productive citizens. 33:40 Elder Wilson on the video mentioned that 33:44 this baptism that we saw there in the pool 33:47 of all these former rebels, 33:50 was a culmination of a number of months of work. 33:53 And what happened was that three months 33:55 before we arrived there, 33:57 the local conference and the local pastors 34:00 began an evangelistic campaign. 34:03 The idea was that for three months, 34:05 they would have this evangelism going on. 34:08 And then we from the AWR organization 34:11 would come and spend maybe 10 meetings, 10 sessions, 34:15 reviewing the major doctrines 34:16 and carry them right in call for baptism 34:19 and carry them right into baptism. 34:21 Of course, it didn't work out quite that way 34:23 with all the shutdown, 34:25 the quarantines, and all that sort of thing. 34:27 But we still were able to go over there, 34:29 the AWR staff was able to go over there, 34:31 but instead of being 20, or 30, 34:32 it was quite a few less than that, 34:34 only about a half a dozen of us ended up 34:36 being able to do that. 34:38 So things were a little bit different 34:39 than what we envisioned. 34:43 But this baptismal weekend wasn't the end of just a week 34:46 or so worth of work. 34:47 It was months leading up to it, a concerted effort. 34:51 And that's what we were seeing 34:54 was the baptism of these rebel soldiers, 34:56 along with a number of other people from churches 34:58 throughout the area. 35:00 The last word we got and I hear the number, 35:03 I understand the number, I know, 35:05 I believe the number, but I can't comprehend it. 35:08 And that is, after these three or four months 35:11 worth of evangelism, 35:12 and the culmination and everything else, 35:14 we're understanding that 35:16 between 55,000 and 60,000 people 35:19 have been baptized there 35:20 in the Philippines just in November, 35:24 just in the last few weeks. 35:26 That's across the whole Philippines. 35:27 Yes. Yeah. 35:29 It's amazing. Incredible. 35:30 In the last few months so, with this thrust. 35:32 Just this thrust. 35:34 Maybe fed other for the last five years 35:36 it's been what, 10,000. 35:38 Something like that. Two hundred? 35:40 Two hundred thousand baptisms. 35:41 Two hundred thousand, wow. 35:44 This is amazing. 35:45 Yeah, there's just been exponential growth. 35:47 Can you imagine 200,000 people? 35:49 Yes. 35:50 It keeps reminding me, Duane, of that favorite text of ours. 35:53 God is able to do exceedingly, 35:55 abundantly above all we ask or think. 35:58 Yes, ask or think. 36:00 And you know what else, this is so exciting. 36:01 I'm sorry, I'm just so excited. 36:03 Because the thing is, in the baptistery, 36:06 we not only had former rebels. 36:09 Yes, yes. 36:10 We also had who? 36:12 We not only had former rebels, 36:14 and you mentioned church members, 36:15 but we also had military. 36:17 Exactly. 36:19 Yeah, military guys. Wow. 36:20 And this is the amazing thing. 36:22 So you had reconciliation taking place, former enemies, 36:25 people who had formerly shot at each other 36:27 and killed each other, 36:28 now these enemies are becoming brothers and sisters in Christ. 36:32 Amen. This is amazing. 36:34 And they've been going at it for 50 plus years. 36:36 Fifty years. 36:37 Their entire careers have been spent fighting the other one, 36:41 and now it's over. 36:42 Yes. The war is over. 36:44 Amen. 36:45 And it just reminded me of this verse in Romans 5:10, 36:47 "If when we were enemies, 36:48 we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son." 36:51 Christ reconciles people. 36:53 We have another video really quick. 36:55 And this is an amazing story. 36:57 We, Duane and I, we were on the beach, 36:59 and we met these two men. 37:01 Two men who were actually formerly 37:03 mortal enemies of each other, 37:05 one of them a former assassin of the rebels. 37:07 In fact, he was such an assassin. 37:08 He used to have two ammunition clips 37:11 that would go across his chest, 37:12 he would carry an AK 47, 37:13 and he would carry dead bodies over his shoulder. 37:15 Wow. 37:16 Up and down mountains. 37:18 So he was pretty solid. 37:19 These guys are serious. 37:21 These guys are serious. 37:23 Next to him, you're going to see 37:24 in this a former intelligence officer 37:26 for the Philippine army 37:28 Yeah. 37:29 Former enemies, now brothers in Christ. 37:31 Wow. 37:32 The cat and the mouse have now... 37:33 Reconciled. Now reconciled. 37:35 That's exactly what happened. So we have this video. 37:37 Okay, wonderful. 37:38 Well, let's, let's check out the reconciliation. 37:40 Okay. 37:44 Hello, friends, and welcome to the island of Mindoro. 37:47 As some of you know, 37:49 God has been doing incredible miracles 37:51 here through the Ministry of Adventist World Radio. 37:54 And I won't tell you the whole story, 37:55 you can go back and watch the videos 37:57 that tell the story of what's happened up till now. 38:00 But what I want to tell you about 38:01 is what has happened just over the past few days. 38:04 Right here on this beach a few days ago, 38:07 I had the privilege of meeting 38:09 a former rebel hitman, assassin. 38:13 His life was changed 38:15 by listening to Adventist World Radio. 38:17 And it was an incredible moment 38:19 because not only did I meet this former assassin, 38:23 but also, here on this beach, 38:26 was standing one of the Philippine 38:28 intelligence officers. 38:30 In other words, these two men used to be enemies 38:33 fighting a war that's been going on for decades. 38:36 And they've met on this beach and embraced and were baptized 38:41 as a result of the broadcast of Adventist World Radio. 38:47 I'm just amazed 38:49 at what God has been doing through AWR. 38:52 Amen. 38:53 This has been huge. Yes. 38:55 What would you like to add to that, Kyle? 38:57 Well, it's just, I think, the theme of reconciliation 39:00 of God working exceedingly, 39:02 abundantly above all we could imagine, 39:04 because we had story after story 39:07 of former enemies 39:08 now becoming brothers and sisters in Christ. 39:10 Friends embracing and I think Duane has another story. 39:14 It's incredibly powerful. 39:15 Yeah, let's go head right to the video. 39:17 Okay, well, we'll jump right in then. 39:19 All right. 39:22 Greetings from Adventist World Radio. 39:23 I'm Dr. Duane McKey, President, 39:25 and I have with me here, Robert Dulay. 39:27 He's my assistant 39:28 who's stationed here in the Philippines. 39:30 Thrilling and exciting things have been happening 39:33 for the last five years. 39:34 And I want to introduce you 39:36 to some very, very, very important friends of ours. 39:39 This is Kal Martin, and his wife Rose. 39:41 They have been the leaders of the group in the mountains 39:45 who have been, we have referred to them as rebels, 39:48 who had continued with this war 39:50 that's gone on for about 50 years, I think, 39:52 a long, long time with the NPA. 39:55 His brother was killed. 39:57 Was killed, okay, by the military in an action. 40:01 And so that changed your life. 40:02 And you came, you left the military school. 40:05 And then joined... 40:07 He joined the New People's Army. 40:09 New People's Army. 40:11 And at that time, 40:12 how long was it before you became the leader 40:15 of the New People's Army? 40:17 Five years. 40:18 After five years. After five years? 40:20 Okay. Yeah. 40:21 And so about that time, too, 40:24 there was a young lady that you met, 40:27 and you admired her a lot. 40:28 And so you were attracted by her. 40:30 And you married her. 40:32 How many years, Rose, how many years ago was that? 40:36 Two years. Two years? 40:37 So, when he joined after two years... 40:39 After two years. 40:40 They get married in the movement. 40:42 Okay. Yeah, yeah. 40:44 And so you lived in the mountains, 40:46 and you would get together and work together 40:49 and when you left the movement, 40:52 and you became a Christian, 40:53 and you guys were just baptized just a few days ago. 40:57 Elder Wilson baptized you. 40:58 And I've baptized you Rose. 41:01 When you left the movement, your children, were they there? 41:05 Did they witness the baptism? 41:07 So all of them were baptized, 41:08 all of them witnessed the baptism. 41:10 All of them were there and they were baptized 41:12 into the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 41:13 Yeah. 41:15 Last Sabbath, they were all baptized. 41:17 Wow. 41:18 All these years we've had conflict, 41:21 lots of conflict, different things going on. 41:24 And you have been working for the NPA, but not for God. 41:29 Now you're giving your lives to Jesus. 41:32 And you have Robert is teaching you 41:34 to become evangelists. 41:36 Amen. Yes. 41:39 We involve them in our training. 41:42 We conduct the training. 41:43 They use our projectors, 41:47 our materials in this ministry. 41:50 Wow. 41:51 And yes, they are very influential. 41:54 And not only when they, 41:57 after they attracted to the Lord, 41:59 to the church, they even reached 42:01 for their former, 42:02 you know, comrades. 42:04 Amen. 42:05 And that's the reason why we have these 42:06 so many baptisms last Saturday. 42:08 Wow. 42:09 If we can just skew over a little bit. 42:11 Right, please have a seat here. 42:14 This is Ray, two, three years ago, we were here. 42:17 And we had gotten up at 3 o'clock in the morning. 42:21 And Kal was on the mountain with some other friends 42:24 and he was going to come down 42:25 and we were going to have a secret baptism. 42:28 But you worked for the military, 42:30 Ray's secret service. 42:32 And so he had spotted, he found out, 42:36 I don't know how you guys do have a Secret Service 42:38 people know what's going on. 42:39 They have ears on the ground. 42:42 And so we would stop the car, talk on the phone, 42:45 go someplace I was talking on the phone. 42:46 And we thought we were safe. 42:49 And so, but you knew what was happening. 42:52 So we went to the river, we started walking up the river 42:56 Kathy and Cami and Robert... 43:00 All the crew. The whole crew. 43:01 You were with us. 43:03 And we're walking up the river. 43:04 We got partway up the mountain and we stopped 43:06 and then it rained and rained and rained. 43:08 And then Kal, one of your secret service man, 43:14 you figured out that there were military 43:18 down below hiding in the jungle. 43:21 And you sent word to us as Americans. 43:24 And you said, "Get out! 43:26 Get out. 43:28 There's military hiding in the jungle before 43:31 and if we come down there is going to be shooting 43:33 and you know Americans are going to be 43:34 caught in the center." 43:36 And so I said to Kathy and Cami and Robert and Carissa, 43:39 "Get out here. 43:41 Let's go." 43:42 So we ran down the mountain and gotten a river 43:45 and then it started raining more 43:47 and we were going down the river 43:48 and as we are going down, 43:50 we were helping Kathy 43:51 and she was floating down the river 43:54 we're holding on to her arm. 43:56 We were muddy and wet. 43:59 We were all wet. All wet. 44:02 But the point of this is that was then, 44:06 you were baptized Sabbath. 44:09 You were baptized Sabbath. 44:12 You were baptized on Sabbath. 44:14 Amen. 44:17 It's all forgiven. 44:19 Reconciliation. Amen. 44:20 I can't believe what God's doing and is doing. 44:25 Ray, thank you. 44:27 When you guys were baptized Sabbath, 44:31 it brought tears to all of our eyes 44:33 to see what God is doing, how great the Lord is. 44:36 Robert, 44:38 this has been a highlight of my ministry. 44:40 Praise the Lord. 44:42 For 50 years I've been in the ministry, 44:44 I've never seen anything like this. 44:46 It has been a highlight for your ministry. 44:48 We have never seen anything. 44:50 This is latter rain, Duane. 44:52 Latter rain. Yeah. 44:53 And the Holy Spirit is... The latter rain. 44:55 Is being poured out. 44:56 The Holy Spirit is being poured out, 44:58 and like never before God is blessing. 45:01 Jesus is coming soon. 45:02 Amen. 45:07 Wow, not only did they go from, you know, carrying these guns, 45:11 but now they're getting baptized 45:12 and learning how to be an evangelist. 45:16 It's powerful. 45:17 I don't know if people really got the video, 45:21 but if you watched carefully, we were set up. 45:26 I didn't know this, 45:27 but this just Jay that Elder Wilson baptized. 45:31 I baptized Rose. 45:34 And you know he's CIA. 45:37 He's like he said, he set this thing up. 45:42 And so this, so this is on Monday afterwards 45:46 after he was baptized, 45:47 I baptized, Elder Wilson 45:49 baptized Ray, and Jay. 45:53 And we're talking at a restaurant. 45:58 And all of a sudden it dawns on me that 46:01 we had two CIA guys. 46:04 And we have these men sitting around a table 46:06 and a couple of women, 46:07 and they're all assassins and military, 46:11 who were assassins to, 46:15 and they're all Adventists. 46:17 Amen. 46:19 They're all baptized. 46:21 Yeah.
