00:04 by what God has done in Tenisha's life & her testimony. 00:08 Tenisha, if you will 00:11 could you address our audience? 00:13 There are people who are struggling with addictions... 00:16 and that's very painful... but there are people 00:20 who you may be watching someone who's struggling 00:24 with an addiction. What advice would you give them? 00:27 So first I would like to start with those who have a family 00:30 member that is struggling with addiction. 00:32 And what I've learned is that prayer is the key for that. 00:36 There is only so much that we can say to them 00:39 but we know that God can work through our prayers. 00:42 So continuously pray. 00:44 Don't give up. No matter how far you think that they've gone 00:47 just continuously ask God to be with them. 00:49 To send His Holy Spirit to protect them 00:52 because I know through my parent's prayers 00:54 I was protected. And then for those who are 00:57 struggling with addictions: it is not an easy thing to give up. 01:01 But we know through the power that Christ gives us 01:04 through the strength that He give us 01:06 He is the only One that can remove any addiction 01:09 from our lives. And I tell you: if you do not know how to pray 01:12 all you have to start with is: "God help me! " 01:16 and He is so quick to be by your side. 01:18 And each day continuously pray that prayer. 01:21 And then as you build that relationship with Him 01:23 He will continuously show you 01:26 how you can draw closer and have a deeper relationship 01:29 with Him. That there is nothing in this world that 01:31 would satisfy you more than loving and serving God 01:34 and having Him be your best friend and confidant. 01:38 And just remember: these big addictions are the ones 01:40 that are covering up the little ones. 01:43 So as we go through this journey 01:44 there are things that God continuously shows me 01:47 that I need to work on. 01:49 So don't give up. When you give up the big ones 01:51 know that the little ones are going to come each day. 01:53 And I always remind myself that I can do "all things 01:56 through Christ" and if I put on the armor of God 01:58 each day that I will be able to resist the attacks 02:01 and the temptations of the devil. Amen and Amen! 02:04 You preach it, sister! 02:06 Psalm 129:4 is one of my favorite promises. 02:10 It says that "God is righteous. 02:11 He has cut me free from the cords of the wicked.
