00:01 Thank you very much.
00:03 Well, we are in the final moments of this program,
00:05 and we'd like to talk to both of you for a final comment.
00:09 We'll start with Dr. Santrac.
00:11 Yes. So I would like to make an appeal
00:15 by using the words of a beautiful poem
00:18 that we have in the encyclopedia.
00:20 The poem is called Miracles.
00:23 It was written by Alfonso Anderson
00:25 who was a missionary to Japan and the Philippines.
00:29 And the poem starts saying:
00:32 "I don't ask for a name or a niche in corridor of fame
00:37 nor for earthly laurels of glory. "
00:42 And you can read the entire poem in the encyclopedia.
00:46 But these words got me thinking
00:49 that indeed this encyclopedia
00:51 should not be treated as an Adventist Hall of Fame.
00:55 But if we truly want to honor the legacies
00:59 of our past missionaries and pioneers
01:02 we should allow these stories to inspire us
01:05 to continue mission work in faithfulness, in unity.
01:10 And that's the beauty of history
01:14 and all the lessons and all the inspiration
01:17 that we can receive. Amen!
01:19 And so people will find there articles about very famous
01:23 people and people they've never heard of.
01:24 Sometimes the people you've never heard of
01:26 are the most inspiring. So my appeal would be
01:28 to your viewers: go to the encyclopedia.
01:31 Use it. Use it as a basis for mission stories
01:34 in church... for children's stories in church.
01:36 Donate to us. There's a donate button on the web page
01:39 'cause we can use your support.
01:41 But also if you have an interest and expertise
01:46 we need volunteers to translate,
01:48 to write, to peer review. We need your help.
01:52 Ooh... thank you so much. Well, Idalia, the time is gone.
01:55 I was blessed. I was blessed, too.
01:57 Go to the SDA Encyclopedia.
01:59 Learn more; get inspired. We'll see you next time.
