Welcome to 3ABN Today. 01:09 My name is John Lomacang 01:10 and I am joined with my wife Angela. 01:12 Always good to have you, honey. 01:14 I'm always happy to be here 01:16 and any day above the ground is a good day. 01:19 We are above the ground and so are you. 01:21 That's right. And we have a wonderful program 01:24 today talking about how God moves in lives. 01:26 How God increases our grace, 01:28 and you'll find out what I mean by that in a moment. 01:31 But before we introduce our guests 01:33 and get into the program thank you for your prayers 01:35 and your financial support of 3ABN. As you know, 01:38 we are continuing to go and grow getting ready for the return 01:41 of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 01:43 And so whatever you do for this ministry, whether you volunteer 01:45 or you send your finances, we thank you very much for it. 01:50 Now before we go into the program we have some music 01:51 today, honey. Yes! Ryan Day is going to share 01:54 a song entitled With All My Heart. 02:13 In this quiet place with You 02:17 I bow before Your throne. 02:21 I bear the deepest part of me 02:26 to You and You alone. 02:30 I keep no secrets 02:33 for there is no thought You have not known. 02:38 I bring my best and all the rest 02:43 to You and lay them down. 02:53 With all my heart 02:59 I want to love You, Lord. 03:03 And live my life 03:08 each day to know You more. 03:12 All that is in me 03:16 is Yours completely. 03:21 I'll serve You only 03:25 with all my 03:28 heart. 03:44 You faithfully supply my needs 03:49 according to Your plans. 03:53 So help me, Lord, to seek Your face 03:57 before I seek Your hand. 04:00 And I trust You know what's best for me 04:05 when I don't understand. 04:15 Then follow in obedience 04:19 in every circumstance. 04:28 With all my heart 04:35 I want to love You, Lord. 04:39 And live my life 04:42 each day to know You more. 04:46 All that is in me 04:49 is Yours completely. 04:55 I'll serve You 04:59 only... 05:07 I'll serve You only... 05:23 with all my 05:27 heart. 05:52 Thank you so much, Ryan. 05:53 Wasn't that wonderful? Yes. That's what we want to do. 05:56 That's right. With all our hearts. 05:58 And that song was sung at my ordination. Yes! 06:01 In 1995. Yes, it was... yes! 06:03 Took me back there. Thank you, Ryan, for that 06:04 wonderful ministry - yes - not just a song 06:07 which really talks about our guests today. 06:10 Why don't we go ahead and introduce our guests? We have 06:12 Reva Moore and Mary Grace. Welcome ladies. 06:16 And you are with Adopt a Minister International? 06:21 Wow! That's an interesting title. 06:24 But tell us about who you are and where you're from first. 06:27 Let's start with Reva. 06:30 OK, I'm Reva Moore. I'm from Baton Rouge, LA. Yes. 06:34 Originally from the Philippines 06:35 from 50-something years ago. 06:37 What part in the Philippines? Where? Romblon. 06:40 Hmm. Visayas OK... The Visayas, yes. 06:43 Aah... very good. 06:45 All right... Mary Grace. Tell us about... 06:48 Now many of you have seen Mary Grace play the piano 06:51 in such a beautiful way. And Mary Grace, welcome. 06:56 We're going to get to know who she is... 06:58 a little more about you. Welcome Mary Grace. 07:01 Thank you for having us. And where are you from? 07:03 The Philippines. And I live with my adopted mom Reva 07:07 in Louisiana now. 07:09 OK. You know I talked about this before the program. 07:13 And your name is Reva Moore 07:16 and you're married and when you got together 07:18 "more grace. " I love that! 07:21 He increases grace in your life. 07:23 It's so good to have you back here. 07:25 Yes. It's been a while since we've seen you, but 07:28 the Lord is good. I want to just kind of dive into 07:32 your background a little bit more. We know 07:34 both of you are from the Philippines. My heritage: 07:36 I'm from the Visayas also. 07:38 My grandfather. So it's really good to know that 07:41 we have some connection here. Yes. 07:44 But tell us a little bit about you because you have 07:47 a journey we want to talk about 07:48 how God found you and how God led in your life. 07:52 Let's start with you, Reva. 07:55 I come from a family with ten children. 07:58 I'm #7. Wow! OK. And it's tough to go to school. Yes. 08:03 So the only way to go to school is if you can find somebody 08:07 to help you. And my father was a school teacher. 08:10 My mother took care of us. 08:12 And one day I kept praying. I said: "God, 08:15 send me somebody to help me. " 08:17 Six months I prayed. 08:19 And my sister said: "You need to look for a pen pal. " 08:23 A long time ago... that was 60-something years ago. 08:26 I was 14 years old and I couldn't go to school. 08:30 And my uncle came one day 08:33 and brought a package of old Review & Heralds - 08:36 OK - that came from Memphis, Tennessee. 08:40 I saw an address label on the package. 08:42 It was kind of torn up a little bit 08:44 so that's what made me see it 08:46 because I've been looking for pictures... no names, 08:49 no addresses. And I saw this address label. 08:51 I peeled it and I didn't tell anybody. 08:55 That night I wrote to a Beryl McLarty from Memphis, TN. 09:00 She was 75 years old. Wow! I was 14. 09:04 I have a picture there of the family. Look at that! 09:10 She sent me through high school 09:12 and college: Philippine Union College 09:15 now called Adventist University of the Philippines. 09:17 AUP? AUP. 09:19 We were there! 09:21 And I found out later it was the son - 09:23 her son - who was sending me. All that. 09:26 Dr. McLarty. 09:29 He passed away - right - some years back. 09:32 He was 98 years old by the time he passed. 09:34 And I got to come to America. 09:36 They brought me over to America. 09:37 This is why I said: "God, I'm going to serve You. 09:42 I want to give back what You've done for me. " 09:45 Wow! And that's the start of the ministry. 09:49 So you came to live with that family? 09:51 I came to live with the family 09:53 and got married a year later. 09:58 We have two sons, but the sad thing is I have... 10:01 my first husband died at the age of 49 10:05 with a malignant brain tumor. Oh no! 10:07 Couldn't be done anything. 10:09 And I would dream... I always had these dreams 10:14 ahead of time and I kept dreaming about 10:18 building a house. We were always building our houses. 10:21 In the yard of my house there's an old unfinished church 10:26 looking like they see in the Philippines. Right. 10:29 And I said: "That's an eyesore. What is that doing here? " Yeah. 10:32 And for 8 years I would dream that. 10:35 I said... I think the Lord was trying to tell me 10:37 "Build Me a house. Build a new house... build Me a church. " 10:40 And my last dream... When my husband died 10:45 my last dream was like 10:48 a beautiful big church on this island. 10:52 And I saw where it was beautiful. As I said 10:58 and then I heard a voice a week after my husband's funeral 11:02 that said: "Build Me a church. " 11:03 Oh wow! And I said: "Where am I going to get the money? " 11:06 Then I remembered the life insurance of my husband. 11:11 I gave it all. It was supposed to be my kids' college money. 11:16 I built this church in the Philippines on this island. 11:21 I was instructed how big it is. It is there today. 11:25 You have a picture of that? It will be in the video. 11:29 In the video. Yes, yes. Wow! 11:31 That's when it started and I thought that was done. 11:35 I'd done what I needed to do, right? 11:37 So we went to the grand opening and I came back to the U.S. 11:42 I had another dream and in the dream, I'm seeing... 11:48 I saw this woman in white 11:51 and she said: "Come, I want you to go someplace with... " 11:56 She took me to this house and we went inside. 11:59 It was a wooden floor and on the wooden floor 12:02 I saw babies... naked, malnourished, 12:06 like they were abandoned there. 12:08 Every foot or every two feet was a baby just sitting up. Hmm. 12:13 In one area it was like a fenced-in area 12:16 babies a little older. And this woman in white told me 12:20 "Take care of them. " Wow! 12:23 Left me there, and I said: "What am I going to do with them? " 12:26 So I started with one baby. I bathed the baby. 12:30 I dried him up; put clothes on him. 12:32 I washed the floor and placed the baby one at a time 12:37 until I got done with them. Hmm. 12:39 I had no idea what those were 12:41 until I was trying to put a minister 12:46 to the church that I built. 12:48 OK. And I said... I wrote the mission and I said: 12:52 "Can you send three ministers? " They said... 12:55 A month later I did not hear anything and they said: 12:59 "We cannot... so many of them want to go to that church. " 13:05 And I said: "What do you mean so many? " 13:07 "Well we have in that mission alone 30 unemployed theology 13:12 graduates here. No salaries; they want to go. " 13:16 And that's when I realized. I said: "Why 13:19 are they unemployed? 13:22 I've lived in America for a long time. Why are they unemployed? " 13:24 "They have no funds. " And then I started looking 13:28 at other missions in the Philippines. Come to find out 13:30 of the 19 missions at that time 13:33 there were at least 30 to 50 unemployed theology graduates. 13:36 Wow! And these are 13:39 students working through the public. Some of them are 13:42 the only SDAs in the family - um-hmm - with a Revelation 13:47 series or something and then they get baptized. 13:50 The Lord calls them and then they are working students. 13:54 It took them 8 to 10 years sometimes 13:56 and then they graduate with no funds. 13:58 Wow! So the only way they can make a living 14:01 was if there's a crusade they'll be given like maybe $30 14:04 to help with that. 14:07 And God put that burden in my heart: 14:09 "You have to take care of them. " 14:11 And I said: "How am I going to do this? " 14:14 But for six months every 2 o'clock in the morning 14:18 I feel like Jesus would stand by my bed. 14:21 I was a widow at this time. 14:23 And He'd say: "Wake up! Wake up! " 14:25 Every 2 o'clock in the morning I felt Him waking me up 14:28 to say: "What are you going to do with them? " 14:30 And I said: "What am I going to do? " I'd just cry. 14:33 I would sit on my bed and I'd say: 14:35 "Find somebody else; I don't know what to do. " 14:37 But He kept at me. 14:41 I was still working full-time and one day God made it happen. 14:46 I was going to speak at a Gulfport Women's Ministry 14:50 meeting, and after I talked I was talking about 14:54 maybe building a church school 14:57 what came out of my mouth are these hundreds of unemployed 15:01 theology graduates. And when I went out after the meeting 15:05 there was a Filipino man. The only one! He was just visiting 15:09 an all-White church - wow! 15:12 and he had tears in his eyes. 15:14 He said: "I want to adopt 6 of them. " 15:18 What? And then there was an American doctor 15:21 that is still our sponsor today: "I want to adopt one of them. " 15:24 That started it. And I said: "OK I'll send him $130 a month. " 15:30 This was 23 years ago. Wow! It's still the same: 15:34 $130 a month. A month! 15:38 That's all we can give. What can that do? The $130? 15:42 Well it provides food for the family I guess. 15:45 I was always thinking like: "How do they eat? " 15:49 "How do they take care of their kids? " Yes. 15:51 But these are young people who have been called by the Lord 15:55 and so wanting to serve God. 15:59 Wow! That's amazing. And you came from a family of 10 16:04 so you know what it's like - yes - to not have. 16:08 We didn't have any clothes. Like if Christmas comes 16:13 if you didn't get a dress nobody does. 16:16 Wow! So I'm so appreciative. 16:18 So you know what it's like to struggle 16:20 so when the Lord laid... I think that's the reason why 16:23 the Lord laid it on your heart 16:24 because He knew what your humble beginnings were 16:27 so you could identify. Your country; your people. Yes. 16:32 He brought you to America not just to enjoy the 16:35 the benefits of America but to remember where you've come from 16:38 and give towards that. I want to talk about that 16:41 in a moment here, but I want to show this video 16:44 because it kind of encapsulates that. Yes. 16:47 Then right after that we're going to come back 16:48 and talk a little bit more with Mary. Yeah. 16:50 But tell us the inspiration behind this video. 16:54 It's talking about the dream that God gave you 16:56 and how that church was built. I came over here 17:00 and felt like: "I'm going to go back to school. I'm going to get 17:03 my Master's. I'm going to get this. " 17:04 And I had the dream again and this time I saw in the dream 17:08 where Jesus came and it was too late for me. 17:11 All I could say was: "Too late! Too late! " 17:15 And I put together this picture 17:18 that I put together... I think it's in there, too... 17:21 and then I just kept seeing dreams 17:23 what I will be doing in the future. All of this. 17:26 It's like God would always say: "I will be there; 17:28 I will take care of it. " 17:30 Wow! Well let's look at the video right now and then 17:32 after that, we'll come back with some continued thoughts. 23:11 Wow! Wow! 23:13 That was touching - yeah - 23:14 to see what God can do 23:16 and what He has done 23:18 through your ministry Adopt a Minister. 23:21 Looking at that the babies on the floor 23:24 were the ministers. They were the ministers. 23:26 They were the ministers from your dream. From my dream. 23:29 "What are you going to do about them? " That's right. 23:31 And out of that first, you saw 30,000 baptisms 23:34 and then 2021 80,000 baptisms AFTER COVID. 23:37 Yeah. Every year there's at least 50,000 baptisms. 23:41 And building houses for those who are unable 23:45 and providing food. And not only in the Philippines 23:47 though: Rwanda; Zimbabwe, Laos. 23:51 Wow! This is continuing. 23:53 And then also the medical aspects of it. 23:59 Oh yeah, yeah. I want to come right back to that 24:02 but I want to bring Mary Grace in here. Mary, 24:05 you're not a stranger to 3ABN. No. 24:07 But as I mentioned before and I want to reiterate this 24:10 if you're just joining us: when the Lord brought you together 24:12 it was more Grace. Mary, good to have you here. 24:17 Thank you so much for having us here. 24:19 Now we have to hear the story of how the Lord brought you 24:21 both together. Yeah, how did that come? 24:23 When I was growing up I remember that 24:25 I would pray and ask God 24:27 "I really would like to become 24:29 a missionary through my music. " 24:32 It was tough growing up. 24:33 I have... Kids would call me names. 24:38 I was rejected and all that stuff being born like this. 24:42 You were born... with a stub. 24:44 My right leg also is eight inches shorter 24:48 Really? And it only has three toes. Wow! 24:51 So I was born special I guess. 24:52 But it was really though growing up. 24:55 I was... I felt so all alone. Oh... 25:00 I cried myself to sleep 25:01 and every time I would look at myself in the mirror 25:04 I would cry. And it came to the point 25:07 where I questioned God: "What did I do so wrong 25:10 to deserve being born like this? " 25:12 However, Grandma... I am so blessed to have a Grandma 25:15 who taught me about Jesus? and she told me that 25:18 Jesus loved me regardless of how I looked. 25:22 So that's what I did. 25:24 Every time I felt alone I would talk to Jesus. 25:26 And looking back now I realize what I went through 25:29 when I was growing up it led me to God. It brought me 25:33 so much closer to Him. 25:35 I didn't have anybody but I had God. 25:37 And I realize now that He is really all I needed. 25:41 That's right! And so when I came here back in 2001 25:47 my adopted mom Reva's sister I did a concert 25:52 in Alexandria, Louisiana, 25:54 and that's where we first met. 25:57 And when we met we bonded right away. 25:59 And I praise God because He made this possible 26:04 and now I'm giving concerts for Adopt a Minister. 26:06 Now how did you learn how to play the piano? At what age? 26:11 Six years old... and Grandma, 26:14 she had to go through three piano teachers 26:16 before she was able to find one who was willing to take me. 26:20 I remember she made a bargain. 26:22 And the first piano teacher that we went to, though, 26:24 told us that we were just wasting both our time and hers 26:28 and she told us that I would never be able to play the piano 26:31 at all. Hmm. But thank God Grandma didn't give up, 26:34 you know, until she was able to find one. 26:35 And she made a bargain with the fourth teacher 26:38 and she told the teacher: "You can teach Mary Grace 26:40 even with her left hand only and I'll pay for the price 26:43 of both hands. " Wow! So the first few months 26:46 I played the piano using my left hand only. 26:48 But later on, we realized that I could also use my stub. 26:52 I modify the pieces that I play. 26:54 My stub plays mainly the melody and my left hand 26:57 picks up the rest of the chords for the right. 26:59 Wow! And we've heard your music. 27:01 I remember my first time hearing you play. 27:06 In the video, it started with this side of the piano. 27:09 I didn't see your hand and I'm hearing it: "What wonderful 27:12 music! " Then I saw that you were playing with your stub 27:15 and I thought: "What is my excuse? " 27:17 Really! My wife and I always say 27:20 "I want to take piano lessons. " 27:22 We don't do that. 27:24 We're going to eventually do that but you are an inspiration. 27:26 Oh thank you. To know that God did not... 27:28 God is not limited - 27:30 yes - by our inability. Yes. 27:33 I would say it's not our capacity 27:36 but our availability. And "I can do all things 27:39 through Christ. " Amen! Yeah. 27:40 And I know that this is His purpose. 27:43 I would like... If I can share my favorite Bible verse... 27:46 It's Psalm 139. 27:48 "For He created my inward parts. 27:51 You covered me in my mother's womb. " Ahh. 27:53 "I will praise you for I am fearfully & wonderfully made. " 27:58 Amen! "Marvelous are Your works 28:01 and that my heart knows very well. " 28:05 And it is because of... I'm sorry... I didn't mean to... 28:07 OK... that's OK. 28:09 It is because of my love for the Lord that I do what I do. 28:12 And even though I had to go through tough times 28:15 growing up, but the Lord has never left me. Never! 28:20 Yeah... He was there, and He has more than made up 28:25 for what I lacked growing up. 28:28 And He is so amazing and I love Him so much. 28:31 Wow! That's why I'm doing this: for His honor and glory. 28:34 That's right. Wow! 28:36 And so... So many verses are coming to my mind. 28:40 Paul when he says: "In our weakness His strength 28:42 is made perfect. " And so you glory in your infirmities 28:46 that the power of Christ rests upon you. 28:48 And you don't make any excuses. That's what I like about 28:51 what you do. You don't say: "Well, I can't do that. " 28:53 People only see what you can't do, but God says: 28:56 "Hey, there's no can't in Mary Grace's life. " 28:59 What a word; what a name: Grace. 29:01 You're showing people what grace is all about. 29:03 So I want to get Reva's side of this adoption 29:06 before we get together. Does she have siblings? 29:09 Yes. When she came... when I found out 29:14 this is the answer to my prayer because I said: "God, 29:17 I'm working full-time. I cannot do this 29:20 because 12 o'clock midnight I'm still working 29:23 at Adopt A Minister. You know I started with 60: 29:25 60 theology graduates 29:29 getting $130 29:32 and end up pastoring for 3 years 29:35 hundreds and hundreds of them already are employed. 29:38 And we still have about 350 29:40 mostly new now. Wow! So we keep 350. 29:44 And I said: "God, I need help. " So this is when she came. 29:48 And then God showed me again in another dream 29:52 that somebody was getting married. 29:54 Come to find out I was getting married... re-married. 29:57 And then I saw her in the dream, too. 30:00 And so with the 3 of us: 30:02 my... Mr. Moore - J. R. Moore - we do this. 30:07 D. R. does all the other stuff. 30:11 She does stuff. We kind of work together. 30:15 It cannot be done by just one. 30:17 That's right. So I do all the sending of funds. 30:20 She does all the receipts. 30:22 D. R. takes care of the house and the driving for us. 30:25 Hey, we've got a driver. 30:26 That's right. On the move for the Lord. 30:29 Wonderful. How many ministers, do you have today? 30:33 We have about 350. 30:35 Three hundred fifty! Some more are applying. 30:37 These are new graduates 30:38 but hundreds. I don't want to make a count 30:41 because it's not my work. 30:42 And I feel like there's over 1,000 already have been 30:47 so I do not count. 30:51 Right. You just say: "One more, one more, one more. " Yes. 30:53 God provides. And so always before we'd say 30:56 "Mom, I know... I know you. " 30:59 I know by name... not necessarily by face. 31:02 But the older ones I know by face and names. 31:05 So these ones now are new graduates and it's just a list. 31:10 That's right. But I met them last January. 31:14 Oh, you did? And they all came with their blue 31:18 outfits and I said: 31:21 "I wish I would remember you but maybe someday in heaven 31:24 I will say: "Yes, you were our adopted minister. ' " 31:27 Like a Schindler. Exactly. 31:30 Now this is a program... You just alluded to that. 31:34 Oskar Schindler years ago. 31:36 There's a movie called Schindler's List 31:39 how he helped so many people that were disadvantaged 31:41 during the time of the Jews. 31:43 And God just looks for once again not our ability 31:46 but our availability. 31:48 And you said: "Here I am... send me. " 31:50 And tell us about this young lady that was singing 31:53 in the video. Oh yeah. I was amazed. She was singing 31:55 on tune... not off-pitch. 31:57 Beautiful! Such compassion and conviction. 32:03 That's my oldest granddaughter Kaitlyn Sine Wallace. 32:06 And she started singing when she was like 4 years old. 32:09 She sang before she spoke. 32:12 Wow! And she started singing this... I don't know where 32:15 she learned all the songs from 32:16 but I said... we would video & I said: "I'm gonna use this one. " 32:21 So when we were putting this together I put the music... 32:25 She's 12 years old now. All right! But she can sing. 32:29 She loves to sing for Jesus. 32:30 And she always says when she prays: 32:33 "I want to share You to the world through my music. " 32:36 Now when she prays: "I want to share the gospel - 32:39 Your gospel - to the world through my music. " 32:42 Wow! That's amazing. 32:44 Now your ministry we looked at but there's a component 32:47 I want to come back to because you not only are 32:49 working with people theologi- cally and providing clothing 32:52 and food and homes for people that are disadvantaged 32:54 that can't afford one. 32:55 But there's a medical side that's just a part of the video. 32:58 Talk about that. And there's a particular story 33:00 you want to highlight. Just tell us about that. 33:04 Our ministers usually will go door-to-door 33:07 to give Bible studies or do visitations 33:10 and they will run into somebody with a huge gigantic tumor. 33:14 And they would take pictures and send to me: "Mom, 33:17 can we help them? " And I said... "You know... " 33:20 So what I would do is: "Give me their story. " 33:23 And I would send it to our newsletter and I noticed 33:26 that some of our sponsors would rather give to that. 33:28 And so they do the surgeries in our Adventist hospital. 33:33 And then there's hundreds of them already. Hmm! 33:37 Our last one here... Last night I just got a phone call 33:42 and I don't know what they're going to do. 33:44 I said: "I'm going to show his picture today 33:46 and let the Lord decide. " 33:48 Because as of now two hospitals already gave up. 33:53 They said they cannot do it. 33:55 And I said: "Well you know it's God that still 33:57 who wants to make the decision. " 33:59 If this boy said: "I don't want to die like this. 34:03 I know I will die. I don't want to die like this. " 34:05 And what do you do? 34:08 Let's look at this picture. We have a picture of him. 34:11 Oh... poor thing. 34:13 His ear is right here. OK. 34:16 He's young! Nineteen years old. 34:18 Nineteen! His name is Depoclite 34:22 and he just wants to have a chance. 34:26 So these people that donate finance these surgeries. 34:30 It depends on... like we saw in the video. Yeah. 34:33 It depends. When I make the newsletter 34:35 if they say: "We want to help with this one. " 34:37 "We want to help a church building. " 34:39 So it depends on what they want 34:42 and generally it's like they would send... 34:45 I know it's for stipends. OK. 34:49 This is amazing. I'm just really taken aback by... 34:53 What's a Gumending? Gumending? Yes. 34:57 His story: This is a rebel 35:03 like in the southern part of Mindanao. 35:07 They have classes: Christians and Muslims. 35:12 And Gumending is one of those. He was 35:18 paid to kill people. Hmm! OK? 35:22 He told his story. Paid to kill people. It's on YouTube. 35:26 And one day he said a bus ran over him to kill him. 35:32 Hmm! Well, he didn't get killed. He moved 35:34 so the bus went back and tried to kill him again. 35:36 Well he did not get killed 35:38 and he was taken to one of our SDA hospitals 35:41 and there he found Jesus. 35:43 And during... while he was there 35:46 he was asked to go and attend one of those 35:49 seminars in the hospital area. OK. 35:52 And when they were making an appeal and they said 35:55 "Who wants to get baptized? " 35:59 he couldn't move really. And he said he saw his arm lifting up. 36:02 And they said: "Do you want to get baptized? 36:06 Why are you raising your hand? " 36:07 "I don't know. " 36:10 Well anyway, he got baptized. 36:11 He was sent to Mt. View College and graduated with theology. 36:16 Now he goes back every day to his people 36:20 sharing Jesus with them. Amen! 36:22 We helped him. A miracle! Wow! 36:25 He didn't even know his hand was going up. 36:27 The angel probably raised his hand. 36:30 "All that you've done, you need to give your life to the Lord. " 36:35 That's amazing. Beautiful story! 36:37 Mary Grace: what about you? You had a broken femur? Yes. 36:42 Share with us about that. That was back in 2014 36:45 and I was at Atlanta airport. 36:48 I was supposed to be going to Boston 36:50 to play in one of the churches there during their Disability 36:53 Awareness weekends, and I was getting ready to board. 36:57 Since I am wearing an elevated shoe 37:01 if I step on something even as tiny as a tic-tac 37:05 sometimes it can throw me off. 37:07 I was standing in the jet bridge, and the moment I took 37:09 my next step I fell and I broke my right femur. 37:13 I was in Atlanta all by myself. 37:15 I travel alone most of the time. 37:18 And the first 30 minutes I didn't have any pain. 37:21 You can imagine how terrified I was... I was alone. 37:24 So the first 30 minutes I didn't have any pain 37:27 so I was thinking maybe I could catch the next flight back home. 37:31 Yeah... and I prayed and I prayed. 37:36 I was terrified, and finally 45 minutes into it 37:40 the pain was excruciating 37:42 that I could not even lift my leg. 37:45 So they had to take me to a nearby hospital in Atlanta. 37:49 I stayed there for about a week 37:51 and my adoptive parents... they drove from Baton Rouge 37:54 to pick me up. 37:56 And then after that we drove back to Baton Rouge. 38:00 I saw a local orthopedic surgeon and they did an X-ray 38:04 only to find out that the bones were not connecting. 38:07 But prior to that, I had never been to a hospital 38:10 or seen a doctor all my life - Wow! up to that day. 38:13 And I started to question God, you know? Yes. 38:17 And I kind of got mad at Him 'cause it took me a long time 38:22 before I had finally accepted my disability 38:24 made peace with my past and something like this happened. 38:28 Right. All of a sudden you say: "Why, Lord? " 38:30 "Now a broken leg? " 38:34 Yeah, but I am so blessed to have a very supportive 38:37 and prayerful support system and they made me realize 38:41 that I should thank God instead. 38:42 Why? Because had it been my good leg or arm 38:45 or had it been my stub 38:47 it probably would have been worse, you know? 38:49 Right. The devil was trying to stop me from serving God 38:52 but I'm glad I know to whom I belong. Amen! 38:55 That's right. Did you ever go back and do the concert? Yes! 38:57 Finally two months later... two months later 39:00 I went back there and gave a concert at the church. 39:04 Ohh... The devil tried to stop you. Yeah. 39:06 You're living on God's grace... no pun intended here. 39:10 You needed grace all the way through 39:12 and you have to see that these hiccups in life 39:17 don't prevent God's work from continuing. 39:19 I usually end my... Whenever I do a concert 39:22 one of my favorite pieces is My Tribute to God. 39:27 To God be the glory. 39:29 And you know just the words of the song: "How can I say thanks 39:33 for the things You have done for me? 39:35 Things so undeserved... yet You gave to prove your love for me. 39:41 The voices of a million angels 39:43 could not express my gratitude. 39:46 All that I am and ever hope to be 39:50 I owe it all to Thee. " 39:55 To God be the glory! That song is so inspired. Yes! 39:58 You know, you're making us choke up here. 40:00 That's not supposed to happen. 40:02 I'm sorry. It's OK... it's fine. 40:06 But that's once again more grace. 40:08 God's grace is sufficient for us. Yes! 40:12 And then coming back to you, Mrs. Moore. 40:15 Talk about the Filipino church. 40:20 Oh the church... yes, yes. 40:22 That's been guarded by angels from the sea pirates. 40:25 OK. They told me that's the only place 40:29 near the ocean - OK, it has a beach - that's the only place 40:32 that's not entered by sea pirates. 40:37 And then I found out... I remember the story where 40:40 the neighbors would see this 40:44 white... woman in white... 40:47 had built a guest house there. 40:49 This was shown to me in a dream. 40:51 So it took like... 2000 we built the church. 40:55 2011 we built this 2-story house. 40:58 Everything there I said: "Wow! I saw them in my dream. " 41:01 So what the neighbors are saying 41:04 is that they would see this white... woman in white 41:08 walk from the front of the guest house, 41:10 go along around the church, 41:15 and this is how it's guarded 41:19 because it's away from the town. 41:21 It's right there. Easily vulnerable - 41:23 VERY vulnerable - if people decide to attack it. 41:25 And so I just say: "God, it's Yours. It's not mine. " 41:29 When they see that white lady there they're scared to even 41:32 go there. Guarding the church! 41:35 "The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them. " Amen! 41:38 And I have another angel story. Yes! 41:41 I would send my funds... We have a Philippine coordinator 41:45 named Darlene over in Davao 41:48 and I would send the money to her. 41:52 And used to that she would give the money, the cash. 41:56 OK. She would go to the bank, whatever. 41:58 This was years ago. 42:00 And they were wondering like 42:05 people would see like why is she sitting there? 42:10 and there's another person. 42:12 They would see an angel guarding her 42:14 at the restaurant or... Oh my! 42:18 And it's like... The motorcycle? On the motorcycle. 42:21 The tricycle. You know they have tricycles over there. 42:23 Well, she had to pay for two. 42:26 She's the only one there. What? 42:29 So these angels are real! 42:31 She couldn't even see the angel but other people did. 42:35 Yeah. And now we've made it a lot better 42:39 where she doesn't touch the cash. 42:42 I send the stipends 42:44 and all she does is transfer through her bank account now. 42:47 The deputy minister has a change... bank account... 42:52 so she never touches money... just transferring. 42:54 The angel did that too, in a sense. 42:57 That's beautiful! That's amazing. 42:58 You can't doubt some of these things. 43:00 The people are saying you have to pay for two. 43:02 "I'm by myself... what do you mean? " 43:04 "No, the lady with you. " Yeah, when she was... they asked her 43:09 "Your companion on the stool there. " 43:14 And she doesn't even see. No. 43:16 Now I want to talk about some of your ministry needs. 43:20 You have some great stories we might come back to 43:21 but talk about some of the ministry needs. Yes! 43:23 You made it obviously apparent that there are ministers... 43:26 you don't even keep track of how many... 43:28 that are still graduating. Their needs are still there. 43:31 Houses still need to be built; people cannot afford 43:34 basic needs. The medical needs. Talk about some of those 43:37 because we have people watching and listening 43:39 that may say: "Hey, I can't go to the Philippines 43:41 or Zimbabwe or Laos or Rwanda but I can help. " 43:45 Or the medical needs. The medical needs, yes. 43:48 God decided that through this ministry 43:51 so many of the theology graduates that were not employed 43:54 right away are able to get stipends 43:57 and then, however... and they need churches. 44:02 So when somebody sends funds 44:06 normally it goes to the stipends first. 44:10 I have to make sure. We're late now by about a month 44:12 because we are low... we don't have any stipends. 44:15 A lot of our elderly sponsors in the last 23 years have died. 44:18 Are resting in Jesus. So we need new ones. 44:22 We are willing to continue doing this for as long as 44:25 we could until He comes. That's right. 44:28 But we need funds. 44:30 And really every dollar donation goes. We don't get paid. 44:34 We volunteer our time. Our availability? 44:36 We have volunteered our time. I like that. 44:39 Availability. So churches. Food for the hungry 44:43 and for the patients. We have so many patients but 44:47 we cannot really... Only the very desperate ones 44:51 I can say: "I think I can make an appeal for this one. " 44:54 You know? It's not like "OK, somebody has a fever. " 44:57 Extreme cases. Extreme. 45:01 And so many of them are serving the Lord today. 45:05 Non-Adventist but are SDA. 45:08 One has a son who is a layman. Um-hmm. 45:11 A SDA. They found Jesus through the surgeries. 45:15 Wow! Just beautiful! 45:18 That's amazing. So I want to just briefly talk 45:21 to our audience because they have some amazing stories 45:23 we want to come back to. But you have been listening, 45:27 you've been watching and you could see. 45:29 I make no pun about it: God's grace is increasing 45:33 for Reva and Mary. 45:36 I even told them they should start a ministry 45:38 called More Grace. 45:40 But you'll get the information before the program is over 45:42 on how you can adopt a minister. 45:45 How you can help in the medical outreaches. 45:47 How you can make a difference. 45:49 And what I want you not to forget is that 45:51 Reva just said there are many people that have sponsored 45:54 throughout the years that can't do it any longer. 45:57 They've passed away... they're resting in the Lord. 46:00 They have done their work and through the ministers 46:03 their labor, their works do follow them. 46:06 People being baptized; people coming to the Lord. 46:09 There's also a story... I want to just add this to this 46:12 about the person that found Jesus while incarcerated. 46:16 Right. Talk about that. 46:19 So many of them actually have found Jesus in jail. 46:23 I call it in jail. Um-hmm. 46:24 And I went to see some of them. Last January 46:28 I went to the prison ministry because we send money for food. 46:33 They don't have food much if you're incarcerated. 46:36 And I would tell them that... I spoke to them 46:40 and they have tears in their eyes. They say: 46:42 "I was once an elder but here I am. " 46:46 Or some of them... I encourage them. I said: 46:50 "You know, whatever it took God for you to go back or find Him 46:56 I'm sorry that it has to be this, but 46:58 He knew this is the way. " So many of them are there 47:03 and we have so many baptisms in prison. 47:08 And they found Jesus. Amen! 47:11 That's beautiful! How often do you get to go back 47:14 to the Philippines? I don't want to go back actually. 47:17 It's so hard for me now, you know. 47:19 The last time I went was 2019. 47:22 And then this time I had no plans of going back. 47:25 It's hard for me to travel. 47:27 My sister said: "I'm going to the Philippines. " 47:30 "OK... I think I'm going to go. " 47:33 I said: "God, am I going? " 47:35 I have a dream notebook where I write my dreams. 47:37 I'll look it up. I saw where two girls 47:41 travel far away and they met in some place 47:44 and the details. And I said: "I guess I'm going. " 47:47 Wow! So I went last January. 47:50 Mary, have you gone? No. 47:52 Because I travel so much and it takes 24 hours 47:55 I mean you know from Louisiana. Yes. 47:57 That is a long way. I know. 47:59 And if you travel just about every weekend for concerts 48:01 all over the U.S. Yeah... 48:04 Do that in Heritage? I know. In Heritage, I used to do that. 48:07 But... So your ministry is just continuing to thrive 48:10 but it does have needs. 48:13 And we just want to let our viewers know 48:17 and our listeners, cause there's some people listening on radio. 48:20 You know, honey, what's on your heart when you think about 48:23 what's happening here? My heart is FULL. 48:26 I'm just thinking what the Lord is doing through you. 48:29 Both of you. You're ministering 48:30 through music and you're ministering through... 48:34 You're here in the U.S. 48:35 but your heart is in the Philippines. 48:37 And other times in Zimbabwe. 48:39 That's right! And in Rwanda and Laos 48:42 and wherever the Lord opens the door. 48:44 How did those doors get open for Africa? 48:47 They saw us on 3ABN. This is our fifth time on 3ABN. 48:53 I thank God - thank you 3ABN - for doing this for us. 48:58 And I would get students from Rwanda or from Laos 49:03 that say: "Mom! I want to go to Mountain View College 49:05 to take theology. Can I go? " 49:08 So we have several there, and they go back to their countries. 49:11 After we sponsor their... This is why we NEED 49:16 more sponsors so that we can help these young people. 49:20 After they graduate they go back to their countries. 49:23 There are still so many coun- tries that need to know Jesus. 49:27 Yes! That's right. We use the phrase and I notice 49:29 in the video you did... you had the word harvest. 49:32 The harvest is ripe but the laborers are few. 49:34 It's amazing. I was telling my wife: you know 49:37 we didn't even know we were go- ing to be talking to you today 49:39 and last night I was talking about the harvest. 49:41 I said: "Wow! The harvest is great! " 49:44 And here we are today talking about the harvest. Yes. 49:46 No coincidence... not at all. 49:48 God always works things out. 49:50 He showed you. He showed me and then 49:53 we look at the program and it says 49:54 we're going to talk about the harvest. 49:56 Now Mary Grace, you travel and play piano. 50:00 How do you get your concerts? How does that come about? 50:02 Oh sometimes through word of mouth. 50:05 And a lot of them saw me from 3ABN... which I'm 50:10 truly grateful... and so, yeah... 50:13 I don't drive actually and sometimes you know 50:16 if you think about it you go to a place 50:19 where you don't know anybody you know 50:21 but I know that God is there with me. 50:23 And so far wherever I go people have been very helpful, 50:28 accommodating, and nice to me. 50:30 Now you have siblings too? 50:32 I have three younger brothers. Oh you do! 50:36 Where are they? Actually two in Australia 50:38 and one in the Philippines. 50:40 OK... all the way. So you're the only one here in America then? 50:46 Yes. God has a purpose for you being here. 50:49 Do you both travel together at all? 50:52 Not yet but I'm so blessed 50:56 whenever she gets to come with me 50:59 you know when I travel, yes. 51:00 It's a full-time ministry. Yes... yes. 51:02 Wonderful! And usually when I travel 51:05 what I do is show a video of Adopt a Minister 51:09 to get the word around, but I know that it's the Holy Spirit's 51:13 job to touch peoples' hearts. 51:15 I like how you work together. Yes. Beautiful! 51:18 You know I can't help but think that our audience is probably 51:22 wondering. I know that you do not meet all the pastors 51:24 that you've sponsored but I can't help but think 51:27 that one day the Lord will say: "Reva, 51:31 well done thou good and faithful servant. " 51:33 And the information that you need to support this ministry 51:36 is going to appear on the screen in just a moment. 51:38 We're going to take a short break - yeah - and right after 51:40 we'll be right back for a few closing thoughts. |
