06:11 Okay great. It's a pleasure to be here. I come from a

06:19 Baptist. That was my father's experience. My mother learning
06:23 about the Baptist church and coming in. That's her background
06:27 But she learned the Sabbath through her father-in-law and
06:31 along the way an Adventist evangelist had a tent meeting
06:35 going and they attended it and that was it. You know the family
06:41 chose that they would follow the Sabbath and continue on in that

06:48 Adventist church and then the Baptist church, splashes of it,
06:52 you know coming up and coming along the way. So it's been good
06:57 And the mechanical trades and construction trades have been
07:01 something that from a very young child, because of rental
07:03 properties my parents have, we learned and we were the crew to

07:11 but in the background agriculture was looming there
07:14 because of our family and our so many being share croppers and
07:19 so forth never knowing that that bud was growing and germinating
07:23 So commercial farming is one thing that I've taken up as a

08:23 Okay. I'm one of the team members. I hate the founder.
08:25 You know but I'm one of the team members to make it happen but
08:27 nevertheless one day working on a farm that was close by the
08:32 highway I'm noticing all these cars coming down the highway.
08:33 Very eclectic and so many of them. I'm like what in the world
08:36 just by the thousands coming through and making their way.
08:41 So I went to go investigate and see what that was a learned
08:43 about a festival that had been ongoing for years in the desert.
08:48 This is when I was coming back from overseas. In the desert and
08:51 just the type of nature that it was. Immediately after
08:56 understanding that I'm like my goodness. I went to some of the
08:58 people that I know in the area in the church and said is
09:02 anybody engaging these people as they come in and go out.
09:07 Often most persons were considered to be low-grade and
09:10 not...you know, just leave them and let them do what they do but
09:13 I said no. We quickly scrambled the next year to get water
09:19 and make some signs up. And we said well go and give ice cold
09:24 water away and to take Eight Laws of Health and Great
09:27 Controversies and Steps to Christ. And as we can talk to
09:29 people and engage them we'll give them these things to go
09:35 home with. And that started things off. This is the 13th

09:47 I says look there's got to be another way to slow more people
09:49 down. Thousands of cars are passing you by and you can only
09:52 just touch a handful. So the idea came along the way to begin
09:56 a car wash because it was something that was needed. The

24:35 anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes while you guys are out there
24:38 washing their vehicle, knocking off this dirt, the sludge and
24:42 stuff. How receptive are they?
24:46 I tell you we had a family that came out from Washington one
24:49 year to be with some friends. And when they left they were
24:53 just on a high because the people asked if they could pray
24:57 with them and the people said absolutely. Pray with me and
25:00 they accepted the literature warmly. Never do we have a
25:05 belligerent attitude. Almost we can't count over the years the
25:08 times that that has happened. But there's always a willingness
25:12 to accept it, to look at it, and then to move forward. So it's
25:19 a very gregarious crowd. They're just. They've spent time with
25:22 people they don't know from other places so they're
25:25 talkative, they're willing to speak with you and to move
25:29 around now. Last year we engaged a detail to be able to clean
25:34 their vans and clean their motorhomes and buses and so
25:37 forth. That gives us three hours to two-and-a-half hours with a
25:41 group of individuals. Usually there's five, six, seven, eight
25:43 people in a coach. So that even extends the time even greater
25:48 which is a benefit. This year we're hoping to have some
25:52 medical missionaries come out to engage them and just have some
25:56 quizzes that they can fill out and just talk about you know
25:58 life styles and so forth so we can focus in a direct way.
26:03 At least plant those seeds so that later the Holy Spirit cab
26:06 echo them as they make their way home and get on the plane and
26:09 go back to where they've come from.
26:12 That's amazing, that's amazing. I can imagine out in the middle
26:14 of a desert there's not a lot of water out there so how in the
26:18 world do you get that much water in a place like this with
26:23 relatively no water, very dry climate, washing this many
26:27 vehicles as they're coming through?
26:29 Everything is off-grid so we have to bring in all of our
26:33 resources, 26,000 gallons of water we brought in last year to
26:38 be able to do the wash that we endeavored to do. But as the
26:43 the scripture that we read earlier where the Bible says
26:47 that the Lord tells us that Satan will not release his
26:49 prisoners. All along the way we were paced because we have a
26:54 drop dead date. By the time they're leaving from that event
26:58 we are to have everything set up and ready to go at that point
27:01 so delays were in process all along the way with flat tires
27:08 and blowouts and bearings and different things going on along
27:12 way to slow down and to bring us to the point when we got to the
27:17 time for the people to leave that we were not ready and in
27:21 sequence it happened in that direction. We had so many
27:24 different things happen. Leaving New York with two of us hauling
27:31 vehicles coming back. I met in Virginia along the highway...I
27:39 pulled off. A motorist kind of flagged me down saying there was
27:42 something going on. So I pulled over. I'm driving a dump truck
27:44 and a travel trailer behind me. Pulled over to take a look at
27:47 what was going on and by the time I had sorted out what was
27:51 wrong and got back on the freeway, light coming, cars are
27:53 coming around me, trucks are coming around me because I'm a
27:55 slow something moving. I look in the rearview mirror and a truck
27:58 is coming up on me and I didn't pay attention. I just kept

29:13 Reminds me of John chapter 10 where Jesus talks about the
29:15 enemy has come to steal, kill and destroy and he no doubt that
29:20 day was trying to take you out, right? Oh this guy's got
29:22 something great going on and he's going to. Him and his team
29:26 are trying to make a difference. I'm going to see if I can put an
29:30 end to this.
29:31 Amen brother. We look at it also in this regard. Remember when
29:37 Christ came upon the gentleman that was in the Gadarenes, the
29:43 demoniac. And as he was being cast out in another instance the
29:48 Lord asked what is your name. He mentioned, My name is Legion.
29:51 Which is 5000, 6000 soldiers. Satan is very tactical. If a
29:59 masterpiece has been set up it's been set there to hold
30:01 individuals that would do him damage if they get loose. Satan
30:05 understands clearly the message of the pearl, he understands
30:08 clearly the message of the leaven and the mustard seed.
30:12 If the gospel reaches individuals that he is holding
30:17 the damage in these groups are the Saul's, are the apostles,
30:24 other individuals that would be stalwarts in the gospel. That's
30:28 why Christ said he has sheep that are not in...
30:32 Sheep that are not in this fold. I love that. I love that, man.
30:35 That is so cool. So you're washing these cars and I'm
30:40 guessing is it during or at the end of the process of washing
30:42 the car that you present them with the literature? What's your
30:45 technique?
30:46 Typically it has no rhythm but as we're able to talk to them we
30:51 have individuals that come just floating. They're not washing,
30:55 they're not doing anything in that regard. They're greeting
30:57 people because there's so many different stations and things to
31:00 do. They're greeting and just engaging them and looking for
31:05 that door to be able to share with them something to go home
31:08 with. Yeah.
31:10 That's so cool, so cool. Now as we were preparing for this
31:14 program here, we were going through some slides that you
31:17 were wanting to share with us. I saw some in there where it
31:21 shows kind of the layout of what this thing visually looks like
31:25 and also your plans for the future so maybe you want to
31:30 walk us through this site. (Certainly, okay) So what are we
31:34 looking at here?
31:35 This is the layout for...this is last year's layout in diagram.
31:41 The goal was to be able to wash 60 cars at one time. So it was a
31:47 3-acre site that we had to grade off, do underground water supply
31:51 for it, put a detail tent up so that when cars are coming in
31:57 we have that option. Pressure washers, we had 60 positions for
32:03 pressure washers. We were able to run 42 because not only was
32:08 the enemy not satisfied with all the things that happened
32:12 along the way. By the time we finally got all of our
32:16 infrastructure there and were busy putting things in place
32:18 we're leasing land on tribal land. So the families...
32:23 Is it all tribal land that you're on?
32:25 It's all tribal land we're on. So the owner of the land had
32:30 passed away some while ago and passed that along to their
32:32 grandchildren. The tribe decided once they saw how big an event
32:36 we were going to do that they would limit us back to a 1-acre
32:41 from a 3-acre to an acre-and-a- half postage stamp. Now the
32:46 meeting was done on a Friday evening. They finally came to
32:49 their decision on a Friday evening and the word came to us
32:53 that by this time tomorrow evening as the clock rolls
32:58 everything that's outside the boundaries on the 3 acres has
33:00 to be brought in with this. If it's not there we will seize it
33:04 and it will become tribal property. Now this is Sabbath.
33:07 We made a decision, we're not going to work during the Sabbath
33:10 in that fashion, moving and hustling things around so we
33:16 continued, enjoyed our worship for the day and as sunset came
33:19 we called all the guys together and told them where we were at
33:22 and ladies and what was in front of us. The Lord blessed us.
33:25 Within 41 minutes to take down, move big tents, move our kitchen
33:30 trailer, books, everything to get them back within the
33:34 boundaries. Now...
33:36 Is that's what's happening here?
33:37 That's what's going on in that slide. Now when that had
33:41 happened there's a police standing by so they can be ready
33:45 to tag whatever it so it becomes tribal property.
33:47 All right. I got you.
33:48 So now as...we didn't know this at the time but rain began on
33:55 Friday evening when they finished their edict of us
33:59 moving things in, rain began in a playa. We're 73 miles away.
34:04 When we'd gotten everything in the next morning discouragement
34:07 started setting in with some of the individuals because now it's
34:09 time for people to leave, not knowing that it's raining there.
34:13 But we're not ready for them. We don't have all of our stuff
34:16 together and infrastructure in the ground. So all the time that
34:20 was spent...But I was recognizing the next morning we
34:23 started getting rain and I was rejoicing because I know they're
34:26 on a lake bed. If it gets wet that fine silt turns into just
34:30 glue. It's just undoable. And Sunday rains came in and the
34:36 rains increased. Everything was locked up. No cars coming in, no
34:40 cars going out. It was a lake but nobody could move. And I
34:46 laughed to myself in a way that you know the Lord has the last
34:50 laugh when Satan is doing things Three days they were locked
34:54 there which gave us all the time that we needed to get prepared
34:56 so that when they were left to come out we were ready to go.
35:00 And this is what we're seeing here?
35:02 This is the aftermath. The lake bed was full of water, cars were
35:10 stuck, people had tremendous Tow bills for those that tried
35:14 to leave and got stuck in that mess.
35:16 I imagine that was a mess. So what are we seeing here?
35:18 We're seeing the actual festival and the volume of water that was
35:23 setting out there. Now it has to warm up in order to be able to
35:28 get out. Now just as a reference point: 2022 the temperatures
35:34 were at 117 degrees. Last year temperatures dropped to 40
35:41 degrees during the time it was raining. So there was very
35:44 little evaporative help. But people were in hoodies. Nobody
35:51 imagined that we would have almost winter temperatures
35:53 during the summer.
35:55 Summer, middle of summer. But this is usually an annual event
35:57 that they do every year in August?
35:59 It's an annual event every year right around the last holiday
36:02 labor day. That's the last holiday of the summer. So August
36:06 it touches the end of August and the edges of September every
36:10 single year.
36:11 And I have driven through Nevada in the middle of August first
36:15 part of September. It can be very hot. So you're saying that
36:20 the temperatures dropping that low is...nobody was expecting
36:23 that.
36:24 No. Nobody was prepared for the clothing that was necessary to
36:29 be able to manage that. So we promptly let the missionaries
36:34 know that are coming to bring an arrangement of clothes so...The
36:39 desert can be unpredictable.
36:40 That's amazing. That's so true, that is so true. So The Burning
36:43 Man Festival, this is something that you guys still participate
36:47 in and plan on participating each year looking forward.
36:51 Every single year moving forward This year we're putting plans in
36:54 motion to able to meet them this year as they go. Fortunately we
37:02 still have several goals that we want to try to nail down.
37:08 Literature is all that we're about and making sure that we
37:09 get these things. We still have printing of this to do at least
37:13 60,000-120,000 units of this. Then 2500 packets of 150 printed
37:22 of the eight laws of health.
37:26 So essentially that's Steps to Christ, and the eight laws of
37:28 health that you're hoping to get printed more and more and more
37:33 that you guys can pass out at future events down the road when
37:36 you do this. All right. Now is this something...really I got a
37:39 bunch of questions on my mind right now. I could imagine you
37:44 said 26,000 gallons, now to me that's a lot. I can imagine you
37:48 blow through a lot of that in a day's time. So for all of the
37:53 cars you're washing, have you every run out of water?
37:55 We've not run out with the setup that we have but we've run out
37:58 in the past. We were working from a 2000-gallon tank and we would
38:03 be gone in two hours, not with the footprint that you see here
38:05 but otherwise. Yeah that water would have been exhausted during
38:08 that time. So the 126,000 gallons gives us enough capacity
38:13 so that as we start getting low and tanks are coming down. The
38:19 gentlemen can start...tanker trucks can start delivering
38:21 water and bringing water to us.
38:22 That's amazing, that's amazing. So what other beyond the Burning
38:27 Man Festival, I'm sure you guys have future plans, things that
38:30 you want, you want to develop this same model, this same
38:33 practice. So what are your future plans down the road in
38:36 terms of what Be Ye Clean Ministries want to do.
38:39 Future plans for Be Ye Clean Ministries are to hit in two
38:43 areas. Since we're 73 miles away from the Burning Man Festival
38:48 as they release we would like to set three other stations up
38:52 along that 73 miles doing characteristic different things
38:57 but being able to also engage more individuals on different
39:03 platforms as we go, as they're coming out, etc. Also, we have an
39:09 inner city ministry that we are planning to be able to...Our
39:13 inner cities are melting down. For the sake of being able to
39:16 come in and to engage we have shower trailers that we are
39:20 endeavoring to plan to get built to be able to engage those that
39:24 are out of a home. There are many working people that are
39:29 still working, sleeping in cars, but yet are not able to address
39:33 themselves as they would. We want to be able to engage these
39:36 people and give them the hope and encouragement that the Lord
39:39 loves them, that his purpose and focus for them is beyond the
39:44 circumstance of the moment that they feel locked into. So that
39:48 also is a goal that we approach down the way. Our mobile kitchen
39:52 that we have, we're using it in different ways. We are wanting
39:57 to engage in disaster relief and we have connected with one of
40:01 the ministries that has actually come here. We've been having
40:05 conversations and talking back and forth that as they're out on
40:10 missions that we can also bring the tools that we have to try to
40:14 engage and to encourage the people that have lost everything
40:17 and now are trying to figure out how to bring their lives back
40:20 together in one piece after tornadoes go through and
40:23 hurricanes and so forth.
40:25 Absolutely. Now I love your name because when I first saw BYC and
40:32 then I saw the little...pull that back up with the car. I
40:37 love this. BYC Car Wash. But I when I first saw BYC I didn't
40:43 know that it stood for Be Ye Clean. I thought it meant bring
40:46 your car. Bring Your Car Ministries. I thought that's
40:49 cool. It's a car wash ministry. But then when I realized it's
40:51 Be Ye Clean Ministries you know you're using these methods of
40:55 car wash, as you have done, but I love the fact that you're also
40:59 extending out into, you just mentioned portable showers. You
41:06 know you're using the eight laws of health and the health message
41:09 to go help people you know to bring them and just draw them.
41:12 Talk a little bit about that in the, I guess you could say, the
41:17 purpose, the goal, I guess you could say the motto behind what
41:23 you guys are doing. Be Ye Clean. That spiritual message but
41:28 you're also fulfilling that in a very physical way. They're
41:31 getting the physical clean but you're trying to connect them to
41:34 the one who can make them clean spiritually forever. So talk a
41:37 little bit about that.
41:39 One of our team members chose the BYC, the Be Ye Clean, and
41:46 the Lord has given us that injunction as his servants, as
41:49 his students, his desire is that if we're going to bear the
41:53 vessels, if we're going to bear the oracles of the Lord, we're
41:56 going to share his word, he's asking us personally to allow
42:01 him to clean our hearts because it's only that way that the Holy
42:05 Spirit can freely dwell with us. In the scriptures, the Lord
42:13 shares with us I think it's in Psalms, it's in the 11th chapter
42:18 of the book of Isaiah where the Bible says that there would be a
42:23 rod that would come out of the stem of Jesse and it speaks of
42:28 Christ in this regard, that he would not judge according to
42:32 what he heard, he would not judge according to what he saw,
42:35 but he would judge a righteous judgment. So it's in that
42:43 fashion that we are engaging people and we also consider in
42:48 our lives that he said the Spirit of God would rest upon
42:52 him in that scripture. So the desires that God's Spirit can
42:58 rest on us, there's no fighting there's no struggling within us
43:04 but God's Spirit can rest on us and work with us and the angels
43:07 can work with us to assist us in what we do. That's where the BYC
43:10 the Be Ye Clean initially and where it stems out of. If we can
43:16 be clean vessels in God's eyes to work for him then the angels
43:21 can work with us. The Holy Spirit can have his way because
43:26 we're not struggling and fighting and still trying to
43:27 serve the devil.
43:30 Absolutely. You know as I'm learning more about your
43:31 ministry as you're talking about it during this interview time
43:34 and before you know I've had to talk to me what you guys are
43:39 doing is the very essence of the gospel because a lot of times we
43:42 think as a people that our job is solely just to go share the
43:49 message or to go give the message and that's certainly a
43:52 major, major important part. We are to go ye out and share the
43:58 message and to take the gospel to the world, but in taking the
44:02 gospel to the world it's not just about sharing the message.
44:05 Sometimes people, let me see if I can say this correctly, my
44:09 brother says this all the time. He says that people don't care
44:14 about what you have to say to them until they see how much you
44:18 care for them, or something like that. I probably just butchered
44:23 that but the idea is basically Ministry of Healing, 143 concept
44:28 that Christ method alone brings true success in bringing souls
44:32 to Christ and so he mingled with men. That's what you guys are
44:36 doing, right? You could easily come up and put some literature
44:41 here, here, here, here and sometimes that method works and
44:43 I'm only saying this because I know we have people watching and
44:46 sometimes our mentality is it's our job just to go out and put
44:51 the word in people's hands and it is to a certain extent but
44:54 you have to prepare the soil of the heart and I love what you
44:57 you guys are doing because it's not like you're out there just
45:01 handing out literature and I'm not saying that that's a bad
45:04 thing if that's all you're doing Praise God if you're out there
45:06 sharing and just sharing literature because we need to do
45:09 that as much as we can but for most people you have to prepare
45:14 the soil of their heart you have to mingle with them, you have to
45:18 show sympathy to their needs. You have to sympathize with them
45:21 You have to befriend them and become a friend and once you
45:24 gain that confidence, once you've got that trust and they
45:26 see the Christ in you, they see that love in you, then they're
45:30 going to be more willing to trust you with what you have to
45:33 share with them. So talk a little bit about that. I know
45:36 you guys are out there engaged in this. You're not just handing
45:39 out literature but you're connecting with these people
45:41 on a personal level.
45:42 Christ couched that description that you just shared, he couched
45:47 it in the terms of fishing. He says that if you follow after me
45:53 I will make you to become, that's the book of Mark, and
45:57 Matthew says I will make you fishers of men. Now all of you
46:02 listening that are fishers, fishermen, fisherwomen,
46:04 you don't go out to the lake and throw all the bate in the water.
46:08 No, you learn about first of all what fish are in the water,
46:14 their...do I fish at night, do I fish in the day, what they like
46:18 to eat, what they don't like to eat, I'm not slapping the boat
46:20 and making noise, you know, you're focused on your approach
46:27 and if they want hamburgers I don't give them sushi. It's that
46:37 understanding, that's how we meet people. Because Satan has
46:43 used the tool of religion to twist and to hurt and to bruise
46:49 individuals they're untenable with that presentation first but
46:58 if you can engage them on a level of personal interest and
47:05 personal care then that heart starts to open a bit because
47:09 it's neutral and then they'll receive something about how to
47:13 eat better or, Man I don't drink enough water, you don't drink
47:17 enough water? Now we have something common and we all have
47:21 things to work on in these eight laws of health. So it works.
47:26 You know it's just coming into my mind as we were talking was
47:28 this passage here in Matthew 25 where it says...Matthew 25
47:32 beginning with verse 34, it says Then the king will say to those
47:35 who are on his right hand, Come ye blessed of my Father, inherit
47:38 the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world
47:41 For when I was hungry you gave me food, when I was thirsty you
47:48 gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in, I was naked
47:53 and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me. I was in
47:57 prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him
47:59 and say Lord when did we see you hungry and fed you and thirsty
48:02 and gave you drink and when did we see you a stranger and take
48:06 you in, or naked and clothed you or when did we see you sick and
48:10 in prison and come to you. And the King will answer and say to
48:13 them, assuredly I say unto you inasmuch as you did it to one of
48:17 the least of these my brethren, you did it to me That's powerful
48:21 So we're not just ministering to a bunch of random people that
48:25 we don't know. I mean Jesus says when you've done this to them
48:28 you're doing it to me. You show them you care.
48:32 His heart is touched. (That's right) You know there are many
48:36 people that can't come to the inner city of Los Angeles or
48:40 Oakland or Chicago or otherwise. And we understand that. We're
48:46 asking that those individuals be our cheerleaders, our cheer
48:50 leaders in prayer as we go forward, our cheerleaders in
48:55 support, you know, just be there in that regard. And those that
49:00 can go we want you to come. People that have had a
49:04 relationship with the Lord they have a testimony of what God has
49:07 done for them. It's that message in the ears of others that
49:14 lights a fire. They can see it in your eyes. People understand
49:18 hate and they understand avoidance but when they see love
49:22 in a person's eyes, when they see love in a person's demeanor,
49:25 their engagement with them it creates a whole different
49:30 atmosphere.
49:31 Amen, absolutely. So we've got about two minutes. We're going
49:33 to share with them your information how people can
49:36 connect with you and get in contact with you. But real quick
49:38 how do...people watching right now say well I want to get
49:40 involved, I want to help in some way. How can they help. How can
49:44 people get involved with Be Ye Clean Ministries.
49:47 They can help by coming to some of the events that we do. You
49:51 can come to our website, go to our website and just see where
49:53 our coming events are, what our schedule is for this year and
49:57 the years that are moving forward. They can help in that
50:00 regards. Those that can help in a monetary fashion we have so
50:05 much...if you, as you see what it takes to put this together
50:11 It happens every year. It's tremendous. I don't even want to
50:14 scare people with the numbers but it's tremendous yet God
50:19 has blessed to allow this to happen. And every year it's the
50:22 same thing. So those are the things that we can help with. We
50:25 have another round that we're engaged in with our youngest,
50:29 the army. Eight to 18 year olds recognizing that a lot of the
50:37 army that God would prepare are in public schools and as a
50:41 result of that being in public schools from eight o'clock in
50:44 the morning to three o'clock at night the enemy has their
50:47 attention. Early drinking, vaping, marijuana use, fentanyl.
50:53 All these things are put in front of them to choose. And
50:59 some of these folks and some of these carrots are being picked
51:04 up. We want to encourage this group to be the ambassadors that
51:08 Christ has and to understand that there's a power through the
51:13 cross, through Christ, to say no to that you know and to move
51:18 forward.
51:19 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord So what's that website again?
51:20 BYCMinistries.com or BYCCarwash, you can find it
51:26 there as well. But BYCMinistries.com
51:29 That plugs you into our website That plugs you into a way to be
51:33 able to connect with us and to to share with us.
51:35 Amen, Praise the Lord. My friends you've heard it here.
51:37 We're not quite finished yet. We're going to take a short
51:40 break. We're going to put the information up on the screen
51:42 right now for how you can connect with BYC Ministries.
51:46 We'll be right back in just a moment.
