01:55 This Rock is Jesus 01:59 Yes, He's the One 02:03 This Rock is Jesus 02:06 The only One 02:10 Be very sure 02:14 Be very sure 02:18 Your anchor holds 02:22 And grips the Solid Rock! 02:29 In times like these 02:33 O be not idle 02:36 In times like these 02:40 We need the Bible 02:44 Be very sure 02:47 Be O' so sure 02:51 Your anchor holds 02:55 And grips the Solid Rock! 04:16 And I pray that you can say that too, 04:19 that you are O' so sure beyond a shadow of a doubt. 04:23 In John 16:33 we read the bittersweet promise. 04:28 "In this world you will have tribulation, 04:32 but be of good cheer. 04:33 Jesus says, 'I have overcome the world.'" 04:37 At least He's being honest with us. 04:40 He doesn't sugarcoat the fact 04:41 that as long as we are in this world, 04:43 there will be troubles, trials, and tribulation. 04:48 But as devastating as it may seem for Jesus 04:51 to say this, it only enforces the fact 04:55 that God is not taken by surprise 04:57 when troublesome times occur. 05:00 He's not wringing his hands or stocking his pantry. 05:04 He's standing firm on His own promise 05:07 that He Himself has overcome the world. 05:10 So as we pray together, 05:13 and as we pray for one another, 05:15 please remember that 05:17 if He carries the weight of this world 05:19 upon His shoulder, 05:21 I know my brother and sister, that He will carry you. 05:25 So let's pray. 05:30 Father, I love You for being my Father, 05:36 Ruler of heaven and earth, 05:37 Almighty King, Master of everything. 05:43 Thank You that You are not shaken 05:44 or disturbed by the things of this earth. 05:49 And yet You are touched by the things that shake us up. 05:54 I love You for being such a loving, 05:57 compassionate Father. 06:01 And so, Lord, we bring our needs 06:03 and our concerns to You. 06:05 And we ask that You would hear our prayers, 06:09 that You would know our hearts, 06:13 and that You would have Your way. 06:17 Lord, I lift up those who need deliverance 06:19 from demonic oppression. 06:23 Those whose minds are bound and locked 06:26 and they feel they can't function 06:29 or be effective. 06:33 Holy God, You have ordained 06:37 and called us to various ministries. 06:43 And, Lord, You've given us opportunities. 06:48 And You have defeated the enemy. 06:51 So, Holy Spirit, I pray that You will give us the belief 06:54 to walk in the power to execute 06:57 and fulfill Your will on this earth 06:59 as it is in heaven. 07:03 Thank You for Your deliverance, o' loving God. 07:12 Lord, I pray for those 07:13 who are battling physical ailments. 07:18 Those who are sick in their body with cancer, 07:22 liver conditions, 07:26 so many other things that have gone wrong 07:32 in our viewer's bodies. 07:34 Lord, for various diseases and viruses. 07:41 Lord, I pray that You would, that You would be their healer. 07:48 Thank You for Your healing touch. 07:51 And I pray O' God 07:52 for those in need of deliverance 07:56 from substance abuse, alcohol, 07:59 and drugs, and abusive relationships, 08:04 destructive habits. 08:08 God, reclaim the blood of Jesus 08:10 that was shed for the healing 08:15 of the very people that are constricted 08:17 and bound by these issues. 08:22 Father God, give us the faith 08:25 to believe in You for healing 08:28 and for victory over sin. 08:34 God, I ask for those 08:37 who are dealing with the loss of their jobs. 08:41 Lord, it is You that causes us to succeed and to prosper, 08:46 then I ask that You will provide 08:47 for those who are struggling financially. 08:52 Lord, open doors 08:53 of an employment opportunities for jobs 08:59 to those who are seeking for You, 09:01 seeking You for jobs. 09:07 God, You didn't wave 09:13 Your wand over the earth 09:14 to take away suffering and trouble. 09:17 You sent a Savior to take away our sin. 09:23 So, Lord, I pray for those 09:25 who are watching who have lost family, 09:31 unsaved friends, neighbors, and co-workers. 09:36 Stir up a hunger in us to see salvation 09:41 in those lives to intercede on their behalf, 09:45 that the Holy Spirit would give them 09:47 a hunger for salvation 09:48 and an opportunity for You to work in their lives. 09:57 So, Father, I just remind our viewers 10:00 to be of good cheer. 10:04 You have overcome this world. 10:07 We have nothing to fear as Your children. 10:12 For in times like this, 10:16 we can rest assured 10:18 that even the things that defeat our temporal body 10:21 can never defeat us 10:23 from eternal life with You, O' God. 10:25 And so we place our trust 10:29 in the precious name of Jesus, 10:33 and our Father, Jehovah God. 10:36 In Jesus' name, amen. 10:47 Amen. Thank you, Tim. 10:49 Appreciate that so much. 10:51 Beautiful prayer. Beautiful song. 10:55 And in these last days, we certainly need encouragement 10:58 with all that is going on around us, 11:01 but the Lord has a special message 11:03 for each and every one of us today. 11:06 I'm gonna preach this message 11:07 with a finger pointing back at myself 11:10 because this is not a message 11:11 or a warning that goes to others, 11:13 but also to myself 11:15 and every single person on this planet. 11:17 Before we dive deep into the Word of God, 11:19 I would also like to invite the Lord 11:21 to lead and guide us in a study. 11:24 Father in heaven, I'm simply pleading 11:28 and asking for the Holy Spirit right now in Jesus' name. 11:33 May Your word be made clear, 11:37 may it not just be another sermon, 11:39 may it not just be another message, 11:42 but may these words of life penetrate 11:44 our hearts and minds. 11:47 Father, give us the spiritual eyesight, 11:49 the spiritual hearing, the spiritual mind of Jesus 11:53 to be able to comprehend 11:55 and understand the importance 11:58 and significance of this message 12:00 and also the times that we're living in. 12:02 We place this hour into Your hands. 12:05 So, Lord, hide me anywhere You need, 12:08 but may You Lord, come forward. 12:10 May You be seen, may Your words be heard. 12:14 We thank You for Your never ending love, 12:16 grace, and mercy. 12:18 And we ask these things in Jesus' Holy Name. 12:20 Amen. Amen. 12:23 In times like these we do indeed need a savior. 12:29 Today, I'm issuing a Church Quake Warning. 12:34 That's right, a Church Quake Warning, 12:37 not an earthquake warning, but a Church Quake Warning. 12:41 Usually when we hear the words warning 12:44 or sounding the alarm or calling out 12:47 and warning people of such things, 12:49 it comes with fear, it sparks anxiety, 12:52 it sparks worry, and then fear, 12:55 but we don't want that to be the case this morning 12:57 because as long as we know Jesus Christ 13:00 we have nothing to fear about. 13:02 While this message is entitled Church Quake Warning, 13:04 it is indeed a present truth message 13:07 that I believe is vitally important 13:09 for each and every one of us 13:10 as Christians living in these last days 13:12 to comprehend and understand. 13:14 There's no doubt that 13:15 the three angels' messages of Revelation Chapter 14, 13:18 is indeed the final messages 13:20 that will go to the entire world 13:21 in the last days, 13:23 but we must not forget other special messages 13:26 and warnings and counsel that we have in Scripture, 13:28 and also in the Spirit of Prophecy, 13:30 as present truth messages for our time to help us 13:33 to prepare for the times at hand and indeed, 13:36 of course, the Second Coming of Jesus. 13:40 When I talk about a Church Quake Warning, 13:43 of course, we know 13:44 there are prophetic text in the Bible 13:48 that points us to the end time prophetic events of Scripture, 13:52 I think of Luke Chapter 21, Mark Chapter 13, 13:55 and of course, Matthew Chapter 24. 13:58 And I'm not going to read all of it but, 14:00 of course, this is the famous Olivet Discourse, 14:02 Jesus approximately one week 14:04 before His death on a cross 14:06 would share some of the final events 14:08 of Bible prophecy, 14:09 some of the final events of our time 14:11 that would transpire before He returns. 14:14 And He says in Matthew 24:7-8, 14:18 He says, "For nation will rise against nation, 14:22 and kingdom against kingdom. 14:24 And there will be famines, pestilences, and," there it is, 14:28 "earthquakes in various places. 14:30 All these are the beginning of sorrows." 14:35 And of course, in other translations, 14:36 it'll say all of these 14:37 are the beginning of birth pains 14:39 because like a woman 14:41 who is about to deliver a newborn baby, 14:43 the pains get gradually get more intense 14:46 and more intense as they go along. 14:48 And of course, the interval of time 14:50 between each pain shortens. 14:53 I think we are seeing many of these signs play out 14:56 before us in these last days, 14:58 when we see what is going on around us 14:59 right now with this virus that is, 15:01 seems to be taking control 15:03 of the world in our societies 15:05 and sparking fear and anxiety 15:06 and all of the emotions that come with that. 15:10 We know that we are definitely living in the last days, 15:14 but I did not bring you here to this morning 15:16 to talk about an earthquake 15:18 because we know that 15:19 there will always be earthquakes, 15:21 but we are counseled in scripture. 15:23 We are told that 15:25 there will be a church quake in the last days, 15:28 we are told that there is going to be 15:30 some shaking that will occur. 15:32 And I want to preach today, 15:34 I want to declare the message today 15:35 about this great shaking time period 15:38 that we are living in 15:39 and will continue to live through 15:40 as the day's progress. 15:42 I wanna read a quote 15:44 from the ninth volume of the Testimonies, page 15. 15:47 We are told, 15:49 "Soon the battle will be waged fiercely 15:52 between those who serve God 15:54 and those who serve Him not. 15:57 Soon everything that can be shaken will be shaken, 16:01 that those things 16:03 that cannot be shaken may remain." 16:07 So we are told that 16:09 there will be indeed a shaking time period. 16:11 And I believe with all my heart 16:13 that we are starting to see the results of that shaking. 16:16 Now again, I just want to re-emphasize 16:18 that this is not a time in which we should fear, 16:20 this message should not spark anxiety or worry, 16:24 but certainly bring about an awakening 16:25 within each and every one of our hearts and minds. 16:28 As we hear these prophetic messages 16:30 delivered to us, 16:31 as we hear these words of life delivered on to us, 16:34 may it open within us a desire to hunger 16:37 and thirst for righteousness in these last days 16:39 because each and every one of us 16:41 should want to stand firm when the shaking occurs. 16:45 Of course, in 1851, Mrs. Ellen White 16:49 would receive a vision that she would record 16:52 in her Early Writings and again, 16:54 she would record it again, many years later 16:55 in the first volume of the Testimonies, 16:58 in which she was shown that God's people 17:00 would endure and experience a shaking, 17:03 a shaking that would dramatically 17:05 change the church as we know it, 17:07 that would determine 17:08 whether or not you are a genuine believer 17:10 or a non-genuine believer. 17:13 In fact, she writes and she says 17:15 in the first volume of the Testimonies, 17:17 page 181. 17:19 She says, "I asked the meaning of the shaking that I had seen, 17:24 and I was shown that it would be 17:26 caused by the straight testimony 17:27 called forth by the counsel of the True Witness 17:30 to the Laodiceans. 17:32 This will have its effect upon the heart of the receiver, 17:35 and will lead him to exalt the standard 17:37 and pour forth the straight truth. 17:40 Some will not bear this straight testimony. 17:42 They will rise up against it, 17:44 and this will cause a shaking 17:46 among God's people." 17:51 One might be asking why such a message 17:53 in the times that we're living in dealing with the virus 17:56 and the diseases and all of the plagues 17:58 and pandemics and everything that seems 18:00 to be going on around us at the moment, 18:02 why warning such as this, but I believe, my friends, 18:06 with all my heart that while the devil has gripped 18:08 many hearts and fear, anxiety, 18:10 and worry about such diseases 18:13 where there was a greater disease 18:15 that we must be worried about, 18:16 not necessarily, but certainly concerned, 18:19 a greater disease, a greater infection, 18:22 a greater viral contagion, 18:25 that we all have been affected by. 18:28 And, of course, Jesus wants to give us 18:29 deliverance from in these last days. 18:31 We know this to be sin. 18:33 We know this to be the one thing 18:34 that separates us from God. 18:37 And the greater question in these last days 18:40 is will we be led by a spirit of fear, anxiety, 18:43 and sorrow or will be led by the Spirit of God, 18:46 the spirit of peace. 18:49 It's interesting that in the quote 18:50 that I just read 18:52 from the first volume of the Testimonies. 18:54 It's interesting that she says that this was brought 18:56 about by the counsel of the true witness 19:01 to the Laodiceans. 19:03 The shaking is gonna be brought about by the message 19:07 that was delivered to Laodicea. 19:10 And if any one of you have an understanding 19:12 and a competent knowledge of Bible prophecy, 19:15 and end time events and of course, 19:16 your Bible in general, 19:17 then you know that we are indeed living 19:19 in this Laodicean time period, 19:21 that we need to be awakened, 19:23 that we need to be aware of our condition. 19:25 In fact, we're gonna read 19:26 in just a few moments that Jesus tells us, 19:28 He lets us know very clearly that we have a disease. 19:32 We have a virus, in fact, 19:34 it's the deadliest virus of all, 19:35 it's the deadliest disease of all, 19:37 and He actually diagnosis Laodicea 19:40 with this deadly, deadly disease, 19:43 but then He provides an amazing solution. 19:46 One that if we would just heed the warning 19:48 and we will listen 19:49 and respond faithfully and surrender, 19:51 we can be free of this deadly virus 19:53 and disease known as sin. 19:55 It's interesting that this message goes to Laodicea 19:58 because Laodicea means a people judged. 20:04 And as we all know, we are living indeed, 20:06 in a judgment time period. 20:08 We are living in the last days, God's judgment hour. 20:12 And in this judgment time period 20:14 we need to be prepared. 20:15 And we need to be prepared honestly 20:17 and earnestly for the shaking time period 20:19 that has come upon us. 20:21 I wanna go right now to Revelation Chapter 3. 20:23 And I wanna review these texts 20:25 that many of us have read many times, 20:27 but consider that perhaps 20:28 maybe there's something else that we can observe from this, 20:31 that perhaps God wants us to know today, 20:33 as we can prepare our hearts and minds 20:35 for the future and the times at hand. 20:37 I'm going to Revelation Chapter 3 20:39 and of course, as you could imagine, 20:41 we're gonna go to the last few verses, 20:43 where Jesus delivers a message to Laodicea. 20:46 This message is indeed to Laodicea 20:48 the last Church Age of this earth. 20:50 This is to us. 20:51 We are that these last generations 20:53 that live on this planet. 20:55 No other generation before us 20:57 has been able to see 20:58 and experience what we are seeing 21:00 and experiencing, my friends. 21:01 We are indeed living an interesting 21:03 and complicated challenging times, 21:05 but again, we look to God for our answers. 21:08 Notice the message begins in Revelation Chapter 3, 21:11 beginning with verse 14. 21:13 It says, "And to the angel 21:15 of the church of the Laodiceans write, 21:18 'These things says the Amen, 21:20 the Faithful and True Witness, 21:22 the Beginning of the creation of God. 21:25 I know your works, he says, 21:28 that you are neither cold nor hot. 21:30 I could wish you were cold or hot. 21:33 So then, because you are lukewarm, 21:35 and neither cold nor hot, 21:37 I will vomit you out of My mouth. 21:40 Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, 21:43 and have need of nothing' 21:45 and do not know that you are wretched, 21:47 miserable, poor, blind, and naked. 21:51 He says, I counsel you to buy 21:53 from Me gold refined in the fire, 21:55 that you may be rich, 21:57 and white garments, that you may be clothed, 22:00 that the shame of your nakedness 22:02 may not be revealed, 22:04 and anoint your eyes with eyesalve, 22:07 that you may see. 22:10 He says, as many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. 22:14 Therefore, be zealous and repent. 22:17 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. 22:20 If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, 22:24 I will come into him and dine with him, 22:26 and he with Me. 22:28 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me 22:31 on My throne, 22:32 as I also overcame and sit down with My Father on His throne. 22:37 'He who has an ear, let him hear 22:41 what the Spirit says, to the churches.'" 22:45 Powerful, powerful message 22:48 delivered by as you see in that opening verse, 22:51 the amen, the true witness, 22:52 of course, we know this to be Jesus. 22:54 This is clearly Jesus Christ speaking here, 22:57 and He delivers a powerful message, 22:59 a diagnosis, a strong diagnosis 23:02 that no one would want to hear very strong words of rebuke, 23:05 but nonetheless they are true. 23:07 And in order for us to receive the solution, 23:09 we must be ready to receive the diagnosis 23:12 for the truth and what it is. 23:14 He says to Laodicea, I know your works, 23:17 that you were neither cold nor hot. 23:19 He says, I wish that you were cold or hot. 23:22 And it's fascinating when you consider this 23:24 because as I think through this, 23:25 and I ask myself, Lord, 23:26 why is it that you would rather us 23:28 be cold or hot perhaps maybe 23:31 you would prefer us to be hot or cold, 23:33 but He says, "No, 23:34 one or the other I can work with that." 23:36 And if you really consider that, 23:38 what does He mean there? 23:39 And I got to thinking one day and it makes perfect sense. 23:41 You see, when a person is really, really, really hot, 23:44 they are in an uncomfortable state. 23:47 They desire to be cooler. They're uncomfortable. 23:50 They're not settled in their ways. 23:52 They're willing to receive help. 23:54 They're willing to receive assistance from someone 23:58 because we are in need of something. 24:00 The same thing about being in a cold state. 24:02 When you are cold and you are freezing, 24:04 you desire to be warmed, 24:05 you are not comfortable with your state, 24:08 but yet when you are lukewarm, 24:09 and that temperature is just right, 24:12 you're in need of nothing. 24:15 And so the diagnosis, 24:17 I wish that you were cold or hot. 24:19 I wish that you were this way. 24:21 Because then I can work with you. 24:23 I can send My spirit and you will listen. 24:26 But when we are comfortable in our state, 24:28 when we have reached a state in 24:30 which we decide that we need nothing, 24:32 that we have reached the goal 24:33 that we have fought the good fight, 24:35 but we have come to the end 24:36 and there's nothing or nowhere else for us to go. 24:38 Then we are walking on dangerous ground. 24:41 And so Jesus says here this type of thinking, 24:44 you might call it a stinking thinking. 24:47 It makes them sick. 24:48 In fact, very strong words 24:50 King James uses spew you out of my mouth, 24:53 but the New King James as we just read, 24:54 He says, it makes me wanna vomit you 24:56 out of my mouth. 24:58 And I can't imagine our Lord and Savior doing such a thing, 25:00 but He's saying the state that you are in, 25:03 the fact that you don't realize where you are, 25:05 that you don't see your condition, 25:07 the fact that you think you need nothing else 25:09 that you don't even need Me anymore, 25:11 it makes Me ill. 25:13 And so He's warning us. He's crying out. 25:15 He's diagnosing us. 25:16 He's saying you're sick, and you're making Me sick. 25:20 And He's saying, I wanna fix you, 25:21 I wanna help you. 25:23 And so, of course, 25:24 He goes on to give us a beautiful counsel, 25:27 which actually brings me to my next point 25:29 because if you go back to that text, we read earlier, 25:34 the first volume of the Testimonies page 181. 25:37 She reminds us, she says, 25:38 "I was shown the shaking that the shaking would come about," 25:41 notice, she goes, "I was shown that 25:43 it would be caused by the straight testimony 25:46 called forth by the counsel 25:48 of the True Witness to the Laodiceans." 25:50 Now I was baffled when I saw this 25:53 because essentially 25:54 what she's saying is this last day, 25:55 great shaking, that is gonna shake the church, 25:59 that is going to bring about a great awakening, 26:01 it's gonna be brought to us that 26:03 the cause of this is going to be the message 26:06 given by Jesus to Laodicea in His counsel. 26:10 And so when you go back through those verses 26:12 that we just read in Revelation 3, 26:14 Jesus does indeed give us a counsel. 26:16 It's the solution to our virus. 26:19 It's the solution to our infection. 26:21 It's the solution to all of our problems. 26:24 Let's revisit this counsel piece by piece. 26:27 Revelation Chapter 3, 26:29 and all of the counsel is there in verse 18. 26:32 I love this. 26:33 He says, "I counsel you to buy from Me 26:37 gold refined in the fire, 26:40 that you may be rich." 26:44 He says, I want you to buy from Me 26:46 gold refined in the fire. 26:48 Not just any kind of gold, but it's got to be tested. 26:50 It's got to be tried. 26:52 It's got to be refined in the fire 26:54 that we may be rich. 26:56 Now when I read this, obviously we know that 26:57 Jesus is not handing out golden bars 26:59 from heaven, right? 27:01 We know that the resource of gold that 27:02 that Doug Batchelor would say, it's pavement, 27:05 you know, the angels are probably shocked at us 27:07 often because we hoard gold 27:09 and we want more gold in heaven, 27:10 it's going to be pavement. 27:12 So we know that he's not talking about 27:13 that particular type of gold. 27:15 This is spiritual language. 27:17 We know that God is speaking to us 27:18 on spiritual terms here. 27:21 I would like to allow the Bible to interpret itself. 27:25 We need not determine on our own, 27:27 we need not to think up 27:28 some type of ethereal ideology or opinion 27:31 or perspective of our own as to what this gold is 27:34 if we simply would just allow God's Word to speak to us 27:37 and allow the Word of God to interpret itself. 27:40 We will see what this gold is. 27:42 I would like to take us to 1 Peter 1:7. 27:46 Notice what 1 Peter 1:7 says, 27:50 "That the genuineness of your faith," 27:53 there it is, "being much more precious than gold," 27:57 there it is again, "that perishes, 28:00 though it is tested by fire," there's the connection, 28:04 "may be found to praise, honor, and glory 28:07 at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 28:11 And so that text there allows us to see, 28:14 and to the inspire mind of God 28:15 that when He speaks of this faith, 28:17 I counsel you to buy from Me gold, 28:19 He's speaking of faith like gold, 28:22 but not just any old kind of faith. 28:25 You know, we often as Christians 28:26 might say something like, you know, have faith in Jesus, 28:29 or put your faith in Jesus, 28:31 or do you have faith in that person, 28:33 or that person, or this thing. 28:36 But yet in the Bible, it's amazing to determine 28:38 and to see that you can discover that 28:41 when God wants us to exercise faith. 28:43 It's not just any old kind of faith, 28:45 we're talking about a godly faith, 28:47 we're talking about a righteous faith, 28:48 a faith that you and I 28:50 cannot possibly muster up on our own, 28:52 but we need not go very far to see 28:54 what exactly this faith is. 28:56 Over in Revelation 14:12, 28:59 right there on our own third angels message, 29:01 we see that Jesus says, 29:03 "Here is the patience of the saints, 29:06 here are those who keep the commandments of God," 29:08 and there it is, "and the faith of Jesus." 29:13 In these last days, God wants us 29:15 to not only just exercise faith in something, 29:19 or in someone, but He wants us to replicate 29:23 and exercise the exact faith of Jesus. 29:26 That's right. 29:27 There is a difference between the two, 29:28 having faith in something, 29:30 and having the faith of something 29:31 or someone is completely different. 29:34 Jesus is saying the same faith that I exercised 29:36 when I was here, 29:38 the same faith that I had in My father 29:39 to help Me overcome this sinful world 29:42 is the same faith that I'm calling and pleading 29:44 for My children in these last days 29:46 to exercise today. 29:49 The faith of Jesus, I counsel you to buy from Me. 29:56 Faith, you know, that reminds me 29:58 of the parable of the 10 virgins 30:01 in Matthew 25 30:03 as they have heard that 30:04 the bridegroom is coming, go ye out to meet him. 30:07 They raised their lambs, they trim their lambs, 30:10 and they prepare to go out. 30:11 But, of course, the five foolish 30:13 did not have it in oil. 30:14 And they asked the five wise, give us of some of your oil, 30:17 but what is the wise say to the foolish, 30:20 they say, we can't do that or we are not gonna have 30:23 enough ourselves, 30:25 but go and buy from them that sell. 30:28 And it just so happens to be that 30:29 when you get to Revelation Chapter 3, 30:30 Jesus is prompting us, 30:33 He's encouraging us buy from Me. 30:35 And of course, we see the first counsel 30:37 that He says, buy from Me faith, 30:40 true godly faith, the faith of Jesus. 30:44 And we look at our next point of counsel, 30:46 in Revelation 3:18. 30:49 Notice the second point, 30:50 the next thing He wants us to purchase from Him. 30:52 He says, "And white garments, that you may be clothed, 30:56 that the shame of your nakedness 30:58 may not be revealed." 31:01 This is powerful. He wants us to buy a garment. 31:05 He wants us to purchase 31:07 not just any old kind of garment, 31:08 but a special white garment. 31:11 And again, we do not need to go far 31:12 before we know exactly what the Bible means in this. 31:15 This is spiritual language, of course, this is a symbol. 31:17 And we know that the Bible tells us 31:19 what this symbol means over in Isaiah 61:10, 31:24 this is what the Bible says. 31:26 He says, "I will greatly rejoice 31:28 in the Lord, my soul," 31:30 excuse me, "my soul shall be joyful in my God, 31:33 for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, 31:37 He has covered me 31:39 with the robe of righteousness." 31:42 So notice, that white garment is a robe of righteousness. 31:46 Now many of us as Christians, we know these things. 31:48 It's like, "Oh, that makes sense. 31:50 I've heard that connection, 31:51 that symbolic connection many times." 31:53 But notice how Jesus is counseling Laodicea 31:57 in the sick state that they are 32:00 and what did Mrs. White say? 32:01 She said, this counsel would bring about 32:02 a shaking among God's people. 32:06 So there's something about that faith of Jesus. 32:08 There's something about this white garment 32:11 that is going to bring about a shaking 32:13 within God's Church, 32:15 that God wants us to be able to stand firm 32:17 in these last days. 32:18 When challenging times come, 32:20 when pandemics and things 32:22 strike across this world like a shockwave, 32:25 and start causing fear and anxiety 32:28 and the mass hysteria across this world. 32:30 God says, stake your faith in My word, buy from Me, 32:36 faith of gold tried in the fire, 32:40 white garments that you may be clothed 32:43 with righteousness. 32:45 Notice, Romans 13:14, I love this because 32:49 when we put on this righteous garment, 32:52 it's not our righteousness, of course, 32:54 because the Bible says 32:55 our righteousness is as filthy rags. 32:58 So whose righteousness? 32:59 It should come to us as no surprise. 33:01 We know that we are putting on the righteousness of Jesus. 33:04 And, of course, that's what Paul tells us 33:06 here in Romans 13:14, 33:09 "But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, 33:11 and make no provision 33:12 for the flesh to fulfill its lust." 33:18 The garments of salvation, the faith of Jesus, 33:23 but then there's one last counsel. 33:26 He says in Revelation 3:18, 33:30 "And anoint your eyes with eyesalve, 33:35 that you may see." 33:37 This is quite ironic that Jesus would give this counsel 33:40 because while we know that 33:42 Laodicea represents different dispensations, 33:45 or church ages through history, 33:47 from John's time in the first century AD, 33:49 all the way till now, and while we know 33:51 we're living in this last Church Age of Laodicea, 33:54 there was actually truthfully and literal ancient city 33:58 called Laodicea over in Asia Minor 34:00 in the Middle East. 34:01 And it's very interesting to note that 34:03 back in those days when Jesus would have 34:06 given this counsel to John, Laodicea, 34:08 the city of Laodicea was famously 34:11 known for their medical breakthroughs 34:13 and their medical sciences, 34:14 and their medical schools, and hospitals. 34:17 And one of the things that they were most famously 34:19 known for was their famous medical eyesalve. 34:24 And so ironic as it is, Jesus would tell them, 34:27 you need to put some of your own eyesalve 34:30 on that while you think 34:32 that you are ahead of your times, 34:33 while you think you are in need of nothing. 34:35 And you have all the answers within your grasp. 34:38 That is not the case. 34:39 He says, "Put some of that eyesalve 34:42 on that you may see, 34:43 that your vision may be opened up 34:45 and that you will see the way I see." 34:48 That's right. 34:49 God wants us to be able to have His vision. 34:53 He wants us to see the world as He sees the world. 34:56 He wants us to see sin through His eyes, 34:59 righteousness, love, grace, compassion, 35:02 and mercy through His eyes. 35:04 He wants to give us a special spiritual vision. 35:08 Notice John 3:3. 35:09 I love this verse because this is the conversation 35:12 that Jesus is having with Nicodemus right here 35:14 before that famous John 3:16. 35:17 "For God so loved the world." 35:18 But in his conversation, 35:20 He tells Nicodemus, in John 3:3, 35:22 "Jesus answered and said to him, 35:24 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, 35:28 he cannot see the kingdom of God.'" 35:33 We see very clearly, that in God's Word, 35:36 God wants to give us His eyesight. 35:39 He wants to give us a spiritual eyesight 35:41 that not only we can see things as He sees, 35:43 but that we can also be able to see our own condition 35:48 because if we can see that we are sick, 35:50 if we can see that we are in need, 35:52 then we will reach out to those who have answers 35:54 and of course in this case, we know is only God Almighty. 35:58 I love the story in 2 Kings Chapter 6, 36:01 where we find the story of Elisha. 36:04 He's been helping the king of Israel 36:06 try to steer clear of the Syrian armies. 36:09 And it's powerful to consider that 36:12 the Syrian armies find out that Elisha 36:14 has been given special counsel and understanding to the king 36:19 about their whereabouts. 36:20 And so they finally send an army after him. 36:22 And of course, one of his servants, 36:24 that's Elisha's servants 36:26 gets up one morning walks outside 36:27 and he sees all of these Syrian armies round about. 36:30 And it's interesting that he comes back in and says, 36:32 we're locked in, we're closed in on all sides. 36:35 We're done for, and of course, Elisha says, "Hey, don't worry. 36:39 There's more of us than there are of them." 36:41 And Elisha it says here in 2 Kings 6:17, it says, 36:45 "And Elisha prayed, and said, 'Lord, 36:47 I pray, open his eyes that he may see.' 36:52 Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw." 36:56 That, my friends, needs to be our prayer today. 36:59 In these last days as we see 37:01 all of this transpiring around us, 37:04 this coronavirus, that sparking fear and anxiety 37:07 within the hearts and minds of people, 37:08 causing them to look to the earthly things, 37:11 causing them to go about finding answers 37:13 in the grocery stores and in the doctor's offices 37:16 and in the hospitals, when in reality, 37:19 we simply need to be praying out, Lord, 37:21 open my eyes that I may see. 37:25 I love 1 Corinthians 2:14 37:27 because Paul gives us counsel on this spiritual vision. 37:32 He calls it spiritual discernment, of course. 37:34 Notice, what he says here in 2 Corinthians 2:14, 37:38 "But the natural man does not receive 37:40 the things of the Spirit of God, 37:42 for they are foolishness to him, 37:44 nor can he know them, 37:46 because they are," here it is, "spiritually discerned." 37:51 They are spiritually discerned. 37:53 Do you have that spiritual vision today, 37:55 my friends? 37:57 Can you see the condition that you are in? 37:59 So that the God of the universe can prick your heart that 38:03 He can break through to your mind 38:06 that He can transform you from the inside out 38:08 because you see your need of Him. 38:10 See, that's Laodicea's problem. They don't see their need. 38:13 And we are living in a world today 38:14 where even within the church, 38:16 we see individuals who are struggling 38:19 to examine themselves. 38:20 They are struggling to have the spiritual vision 38:22 and the spiritual eyesight of God 38:24 to be able to see their condition 38:26 that they might humble themselves 38:27 in the presence of the Lord during these times. 38:31 It's so amazing when you go back through 38:32 and you consider the counsel. 38:36 The Counsel. 38:37 Remember Mrs. White said that 38:39 when she asked the meaning of the shaking, 38:42 she saw that it would be brought about 38:44 by the counsel of the true witness 38:47 given to Laodicea. 38:48 We just read through that counsel, my friends. 38:51 It is none other than the faith of Jesus. 38:55 And, of course, the righteousness of Jesus 38:58 and, of course, a special spiritual vision, 39:01 a spiritual discernment that can only come from God. 39:05 You see this as a Christ centered message. 39:08 And there's something about this message 39:10 that is gonna stir the hearts 39:12 of God's Church in the last days, 39:14 that's going to bring about a shaking, my friends. 39:17 Now many of us have studied this message so long. 39:20 We've studied this message so much, 39:22 that when we read these texts, it almost becomes like, 39:25 just second nature, we can almost quote it 39:27 because we've heard so many sermons on Laodicea 39:30 and the lukewarm church, the hot or cold church, 39:34 but nonetheless, when we read this counsel, 39:36 there is something within this counsel 39:38 that Jesus is saying, wake up. 39:41 Allow me to awaken you. 39:43 Allow me to stir your heart, 39:45 so that I can come in and make a permanent change. 39:49 Faith of Jesus, righteousness of Jesus, 39:51 spiritual vision. 39:53 My friends, if you look at this closely, 39:55 this is none other than 39:56 the message of righteousness by faith. 39:59 It is the... 40:01 That is the very synopsis of the gospel 40:03 from Genesis to Revelation, righteousness by faith, 40:06 not my righteousness, 40:07 but His righteousness by His faith. 40:10 That's right. 40:11 The message of righteousness by faith 40:13 can be simply simplified down into those words. 40:17 It is Christ's righteousness brought about by Christ faith. 40:21 We should desire to have Christ's righteousness 40:24 in our life. 40:25 We should desire to replicate 40:27 that of the faith of Jesus in our life 40:29 that we may be able to stand in these last days, 40:33 but there's something about this message 40:35 that is gonna bring about a shaking. 40:38 And we're gonna talk about that 40:39 in the closing minutes that we have. 40:42 You know, those are strong words 40:43 that we just read. 40:45 See here, the God of the universe, 40:47 the Creator, the Almighty, obviously, 40:50 we see the Almighty God here pouring His heart out, 40:53 and He's saying things like you make Me ill, 40:55 you make Me sick that I wanna vomit you 40:57 out of My mouth. 40:59 You're miserable, wretched, poor, and blind, 41:01 you do not see yourself that you are in need. 41:04 I counsel you to buy from Me gold tried in the fire, 41:07 white garments of righteousness, 41:09 and that you put some of that eyesalve on 41:10 so that you can see. 41:13 It's this message of rebuke that is gonna bring 41:16 about a shaking and notice Christ's response 41:19 to delivering this message. 41:21 We see it in verse 19. Revelation 3:19. 41:25 He says, "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. 41:30 Therefore be zealous and repent." 41:34 Rebuke, that seems to be 41:36 a strong word in these last days. 41:38 If any minister in these last days exercises 41:42 such an action as to rebuke someone, 41:46 in any manner, it's looked down upon, 41:49 but yet, that's exactly what the Bible tells us. 41:52 It needs to happen. 41:55 Every single time God's Church or His people would fall 41:58 into a spiritually complacent state, 42:01 He would send a messenger, 42:02 He would send words by His prophets, 42:04 by His ministers. 42:06 And He would try to share this message with them 42:09 and hopes that it would wake them up. 42:11 And it's interesting that 42:12 we find that as Jesus said here, 42:15 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten." 42:17 Notice the response that Ellen White gives 42:19 in response to the shaking. 42:22 In the first volume of the Testimonies, page 181. 42:24 We read it earlier, but let's continue reading on, 42:26 notice what it says here. 42:28 Speaking of the shaking, 42:29 "This will have its effect upon the heart of the receiver, 42:32 and it will lead him to exalt the standard 42:34 and pour forth the straight truth. 42:38 Some will not bear this straight testimony. 42:41 They will rise up against it, 42:43 and this will cause a shaking among God's people." 42:49 God is calling His people to revival. 42:53 He wants to spiritually awaken us 42:55 so that we might see our need of Him, 42:57 that we might see where we are, 42:59 and invite Him in to come in and renovate, and change, 43:02 and do an overhaul of our life. 43:05 But He says when you start to preach this counsel, 43:08 when you start to share the message 43:10 that needs to go to Laodicea, 43:12 when you start to diagnose them and show them of their illness, 43:16 the sickness, and the disease that they are plagued with, 43:18 and you share with them the counsel 43:20 that I'm giving them 43:21 as a solution to bring them out of that. 43:23 He says some will not bear this straight testimony, 43:27 but others are able to exalt them, 43:30 to raise that straight truth up, 43:32 and to deliver it with the boldness and a power, 43:35 and the love and a compassion so strong, 43:38 that it will prick the hearts of the receivers, 43:40 and it will cause 43:42 a great shaking among God's people. 43:45 None of these words should really surprise us 43:48 because we find right there in the Word of God, 43:51 that Paul also seeing these particular times 43:54 that we're living in, even if you didn't go 43:57 to the writings of Ellen White, 43:58 you can see that Paul talks about a shaking time 44:02 in which the truth would be delivered 44:04 and some would not receive it. 44:05 We see this in 2 Timothy Chapter 4 44:08 beginning with verse 2. 44:10 Notice what the Bible says. 44:11 This is Paul giving counsel to his ministers 44:14 and his people around the world to preach the word. 44:16 And that's exactly what he starts this with. 44:18 He says, "Preach the word! 44:20 Be instant in season and out of season. 44:23 Convince, rebuke, exhort, 44:25 with all longsuffering and teaching." 44:27 Of course, this is the New King James, 44:29 original King James says doctrine. 44:31 But he goes on to say in verse 3, 44:33 "For the time will come 44:34 when they will not endure sound doctrine, 44:37 but according to their own desires, 44:39 because they have itching ears, 44:41 they will heap up for themselves teachers, 44:45 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, 44:49 and be turned aside to fables." 44:54 We are living in a day 44:56 where people are running to and fro, 44:58 not knowing what to do. 45:00 Some people, they are fearful, afraid, worried, 45:06 filled with depressions 45:08 and anxieties about the world around us. 45:11 When in reality, the answer has 45:13 and will always be found in God's Word. 45:17 God is simply saying, trust Me, put your trust in My Word. 45:23 Put your trust in Me. 45:25 Allow Me to bring you out of this state. 45:29 Allow Me to do a transformation 45:31 in your heart and mind like no other. 45:34 It's powerful to consider that 45:36 the Bible is so clear on the subject, 45:39 that there's going to be a great shaking, 45:42 brought about in these last days 45:44 because the truth of God's Word 45:47 the straight testimony of God's Word 45:49 will be brought about. 45:50 Men and brethren, right now God is rising up, 45:54 He's raising up men and women to proclaim 45:57 and to declare this closing message 46:00 that will bring about an incredible awakening, 46:02 an incredible revival, 46:04 but it will not come of course 46:06 without a shaking, a church quake. 46:09 And we're delivering the warning, 46:11 church quake warning received this morning. 46:13 Because while we don't have to fear, 46:16 we do know that we must surrender now 46:18 and place ourselves in Christ. 46:21 I love the next part of Revelation Chapter 3. 46:25 I'm coming to the closing verses 46:27 of this message to Laodicea. 46:29 And I love how this ends 46:30 because while Jesus has just delivered 46:33 some very strong words of rebuke 46:36 to this last generation. 46:38 He also delivers some sweet kind words of hope. 46:42 Notice, what he says in Revelation Chapter 3 46:45 beginning with verse 20. 46:47 He says, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. 46:52 If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, 46:55 I will come in to him and dine with him, 46:58 and he with Me. 47:00 To him who overcomes 47:03 will I grant to sit with Me on My throne, 47:06 as I also overcame and sat down 47:09 with My Father on His throne." 47:12 You know, it's amazing because Jesus has just told us 47:18 that He had to overcome. That's amazing. 47:23 That Jesus had to overcome. 47:25 And He's saying here, 47:27 that in the same way that He overcame, 47:29 we also can overcome. 47:32 In fact, He's counseling us. 47:34 He's saying, open the door to your heart. 47:36 Let me in as I opened the door to My heart, 47:38 and I let My Father come in, 47:41 and lead and guide Me by the power of the Spirit. 47:44 He's saying, open the door of your heart, I'm knocking. 47:47 I'm pleading. I wanna come in. 47:48 I wanna to dine with you. 47:49 I wanna spend My life with you and your life... 47:54 I want you to be in Me and I in you 47:56 as we seize the counsel given in John 15. 48:00 He says, "I wanna see you overcome." 48:01 Overcome what? 48:03 Overcome this world, and the sin of the world. 48:06 If Jesus can do it, Jesus says, 48:08 "If I can do it, then so can you." 48:11 Because as we're also counseled 48:12 and told that He provided the example. 48:15 He is our example in these last days. 48:17 Jesus is the ultimate example. 48:22 You know, I remember years ago 48:23 experiencing a particular earthquake. 48:27 And I'll never forget that growing up in school 48:31 and at home and about our communities. 48:33 It's just a natural response of people 48:35 that when we are doing drills for such an earthquake, 48:38 we are preparing for such an earthquake, 48:40 which, of course, how do you really prepare 48:41 for an earthquake, right? 48:43 It's not like there's much of a warning 48:44 or many signs, it kind of strikes immediately, 48:46 and then you're just kind of in the situation, 48:49 you know, you have to be prepared 48:50 and ready to react really quickly, 48:52 but it's interesting to note that 48:54 when an earthquake happens, what are we told to do 48:58 in the moments of an earthquake? 49:00 We are told to take shelter. 49:02 We are told to take cover. 49:06 And we during this time of shaking, 49:10 this time of a church quake that has come upon us, 49:15 we also have the same counsel, 49:17 that we also need to be taking shelter. 49:21 And so you might ask, where do we take shelter? 49:23 Well, obviously this is a spiritual message. 49:25 And so spiritually speaking, 49:27 when we are shaken by this church quake, 49:30 we know that we can go hide ourselves 49:33 and shelter ourselves in Jesus Christ. 49:37 Notice, Romans 8:1, the Bible tells us, 49:40 "There is therefore now no condemnation 49:43 to those who are in Christ Jesus, 49:46 who do not walk according to the flesh, 49:48 but according to the Spirit." 49:50 So we place ourselves in Christ Jesus, 49:54 just as we would hide in a doorway, 49:56 or hide in a closet, 49:58 or wherever you may place yourself, Jesus says, 50:00 "Place yourself in Me and I in you. 50:03 Abide in Me, and I in you." 50:05 Notice Romans 12:5, he says, 50:08 "So we, being many, are one body," 50:11 there it is, "in Christ, 50:13 and individual members of one another." 50:16 I love that. 50:18 During these times of shaking, 50:19 during these times of challenge, 50:21 now we know that this is not the great time 50:23 of trouble that we're experiencing. 50:25 We know that the times that we have been experiencing 50:27 in recent weeks is not the plagues 50:29 mentioned in Revelation 16, 50:30 but they are certainly 50:32 the signs of the times that Jesus warned us off 50:34 pestilences and many other things 50:36 that would take place 50:37 and when we see these things occurring, 50:39 Jesus' says, "Hey, 50:40 wake up and know that My coming is soon. 50:43 That My coming is even at the door." 50:45 That's why I love this verse. 50:47 It says here in Romans 12:5 that we just read. 50:49 "So we, being many," 50:51 speaking of the church, "are one body in Christ." 50:54 We are the body of Christ. 50:56 We should not be segmented and divided in these times. 50:58 We should be unified under the banner of truth, 51:01 we should be staking our faith in God's Word. 51:04 And we should be living out the conviction 51:05 that He is indeed coming back very, very soon. 51:10 Notice 1 Corinthians 1:30, it says, 51:14 "But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, 51:17 who became for us wisdom from God, 51:20 and righteousness 51:22 and sanctification and redemption." 51:24 When this church quake occurs, 51:27 we need to take shelter, place yourself in Jesus Christ. 51:30 That's what the word says, 51:32 hide yourself in Christ in these last days. 51:34 And I wanna read one more here. 51:36 This comes from 2 Corinthians 5:17. 51:39 I love this. 51:41 I love this scripture, one of my favorites. 51:42 It says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, 51:46 he is a new creation, old things have passed away, 51:49 behold, all things have become new." 51:54 My friends, this is a Church Quake Warning. 51:58 I believe that the tremors have already struck. 52:01 And right here even 52:03 within our church in the last days, 52:05 we know that there are many tectonic plates, 52:11 that there are many seismic zones 52:13 that are shifting and moving 52:15 even within the Seventh-day Adventist Church 52:16 and around churches worldwide. 52:19 But we need to stand firm in God's Word. 52:23 We need to receive the counsel given to us 52:25 in Revelation Chapter 3 because in these last days, 52:30 my friends, God will know 52:31 and He will determine very soon who His genuine people are. 52:36 He will know who the sheep are and who are the goats. 52:40 He will know the difference 52:41 between the wheat and the tares. 52:44 You cannot get anything past the Lord 52:46 because He knows all. 52:49 And as we prepare in these last days, 52:51 we need to place ourselves 52:52 humbly at the foot of the cross. 52:55 And we need to pray an earnest prayer 52:56 and say father, transform me. 52:59 That beautiful prayer of David, 53:01 create in me a clean heart, O God. 53:04 And renew a right spirit within me. 53:06 That's my prayer. 53:07 And I wanna read one more quote to you here. 53:09 This is powerful coming from Counsels to the Church, 53:11 page 345. 53:14 It says, "Just before us in the closing struggle 53:16 of the great controversy when, 53:18 with 'all power and signs and lying wonders, 53:22 and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness,' 53:25 Satan is to work to misrepresent 53:27 the character of God, 53:29 that he may 'seduce, if it were possible, 53:32 even the elect. 53:35 If there was ever a people in need of constantly 53:38 increasing light from heaven, it is the people that, 53:42 in this time of peril, 53:44 God has called to be 53:45 the depositaries of His holy law 53:48 and to vindicate His character before the world. 53:52 Those to whom he has committed a trust 53:55 so sacred must be spiritualized, 53:58 elevated, vitalized, by the truths 54:01 they profess to believe.'" 54:08 The shaking I believe 54:09 has already occurred or happening. 54:14 Much like an earthquake, a storm, 54:17 or times of peril, as the quote just mentioned 54:19 that is coming upon us. 54:21 We know that tougher times lie ahead of us, 54:25 but instead of us living in fear, 54:28 instead of us worrying each day 54:30 about where we're gonna get the next bite of food, 54:33 or the next roll of toilet paper, 54:35 or wherever we are in the world, 54:37 that the worries of the world 54:39 will not gain us anything Jesus says. 54:41 It does not add one point to our stature. 54:45 We simply place our trust in Jesus. 54:47 And He says, 54:49 "If you put the kingdom of God first, 54:52 in His righteousness, 54:54 He will add all those things to you." 54:57 I'm gonna invite Tim to come to the piano. 55:00 I'm just prompted to sing 55:02 a beautiful little song in closing 55:04 that I think all of us are familiar with, 55:06 but I wanna leave you with this text here. 55:09 Revelation 3:22, says, 55:14 "He who has an ear to hear, 55:18 let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." 55:24 Jesus did indeed say 55:26 that in the last days and throughout human history, 55:30 there have been men that do indeed have ears, 55:33 but they simply cannot hear 55:35 because they reject the leading guiding power of the Spirit. 55:40 And there's also those who have eyes, 55:44 but they cannot see because they have rejected 55:47 the leading guiding power of the Spirit of God. 55:51 My friends, we're living in challenging times. 55:53 We're living in times in which we will be shaken, 55:56 but my prayer is that we will follow Jesus 56:00 that today we will decide 56:01 to follow Jesus just as the great song says. 56:07 I have decided 56:12 To follow Jesus 56:17 I have decided 56:21 To follow Jesus 56:26 I have decided 56:30 To follow Jesus 56:35 No turning back 56:39 No turning back 56:42 Let's sing that one more time. 56:44 I have decided 56:48 To follow Jesus 56:52 I have decided 56:56 To follow Jesus 57:00 I have decided 57:05 To follow Jesus 57:10 No turning back 57:15 No turning back 57:23 Thank You, Jesus, lead Your church O' Father. 57:27 Cleanse us and change us 57:28 and mold us right now in Jesus' name. 57:31 Amen. |
