00:28 Hello and welcome to 3ABN Worship Hour.
00:31 We are here to bring a message from God's Word. 00:36 My name is John Dinzey. 00:38 It is a joy and privilege to be with you 00:39 during this hour. 00:41 We are going to study a topic that is entitled, 00:44 Jesus did what seemed impossible. 00:49 And before we get to this message, 00:51 we must go to the Lord 00:53 and ask Him to be the one to speak to us 00:56 because we desperately need God to speak to us in this hour 01:00 in which we live in. 01:02 I'm going to kneel. 01:03 And I ask you to join me in prayer. 01:05 Pray for me. 01:06 Pray for those that will be hearing this message. 01:08 And we ask that God will bless each and every one of us. 01:11 Let's pray together. 01:14 Our loving heavenly Father, 01:17 we pause this moment, Lord, 01:19 to give You honor and glory and praise 01:22 because You are good to us. 01:25 Heavenly Father, there may be some joining us 01:28 that do not know, they do not understand, 01:31 they haven't considered the fact 01:33 that You have been good to them 01:36 but, Lord, You daily bless Your children 01:39 in one way or another. 01:41 And Your sun shines upon the good and the evil, 01:45 and fruits and vegetables and grains grow upon the earth 01:50 to feed everyone in the world. 01:53 We pray heavenly Father for You to bless us 01:56 as we are together. 01:57 And I place myself in Your hands, Lord, 01:59 so that every word will come from Your throne of grace. 02:04 Speak to Your children. 02:06 I ask You in Jesus' name. 02:08 Amen. Amen. 02:11 When we consider God's Word, 02:14 the Bible says that it is a lamp unto our feet. 02:18 As we study God's Word, we see that in Genesis 1:1, 02:22 the Bible says, "In the beginning, 02:24 God created the heavens and the earth." 02:26 Some people believe they came from monkeys, 02:29 they came from some minute things 02:32 that out of nowhere came into being. 02:35 But the Bible says that God created the heavens 02:38 and the earth. 02:40 And I wanna ask you to consider 02:43 what the Bible says concerning the creation of human beings. 02:48 This was the crowning work or creation, 02:52 and it is presented to us 02:54 in Genesis 1:26-28. 03:00 And this is what the Bible says, 03:03 "Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, 03:07 according to Our likeness, 03:09 let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, 03:13 over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, 03:15 over all the earth 03:17 and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.' 03:21 So God created man in His own image, 03:24 in the image of God He created him, 03:26 male and female He created them. 03:30 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, 03:33 'Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it, 03:37 have dominion over the fish of the sea, 03:40 over the birds of the air, 03:41 and over every living thing that moves on the earth.'" 03:45 And so it is registering in God's Word 03:48 that He created the heavens and the earth 03:51 and He created human beings upon it. 03:54 Yes, you, my friend, are created in God's image 04:00 and it was God's purpose that throughout eternity, 04:04 the human race would enjoy happiness forever, 04:10 but the Bible continues its record 04:14 with a sad message. 04:16 First, we turn your attention 04:18 to what is written in Genesis 1:31, 04:22 it says, "Then God saw everything that He had made, 04:27 and indeed it was very good. 04:30 So the evening and the morning were the sixth day." 04:34 And so it is that the Bible brings us the message 04:38 that everything that God made was very good. 04:42 It was perfect. 04:44 However, as we look around today, 04:47 you can see that not everything seems perfect. 04:51 This is because sin entered into the world, 04:56 but I would like to read to you 04:58 from a book called Education, 05:03 so that you can understand 05:05 what was the future for human beings 05:09 had we remained faithful? 05:12 And it says in the book Education 05:15 written by Ellen G. White, page 15, 05:18 "When Adam came from the Creator's hand, 05:21 he bore in his physical, mental, and spiritual nature, 05:26 a likeness to his maker." 05:28 God created man in His own image, 05:31 according to Genesis 1:27. 05:33 And it was His purpose that the longer man lived, 05:38 the more fully He should reveal His image. 05:42 The more fully reflect the glory of the Creator. 05:49 This is, of course, men and women. 05:50 It says all His faculties were capable of development, 05:55 their capacity and vigor were continually to increase. 05:59 Vast was the scope offered for their exercise, 06:04 glorious the field open to their research. 06:07 The mysteries of the visible universe, 06:10 the wondrous works of Him, which is perfect in knowledge. 06:14 Job 37:16, 06:16 Invited man's study, notice this, face to face, 06:21 heart to heart communion with his Maker 06:25 was his high privilege. 06:28 Had he remained loyal to God, 06:31 all this would have been his forever. 06:35 Throughout eternal ages 06:37 he would have continued to gain new treasures of knowledge, 06:41 to discover fresh springs of happiness, 06:45 and to obtain clearer and yet clearer conceptions 06:49 of the wisdom, the power, and the love of God. 06:53 And more and more fully 06:55 would he have fulfilled the object of his creation, 07:00 more and more fully reflected the Creator's glory. 07:06 Praise God. 07:07 The opportunity was beyond the understanding, 07:12 had Adam and Eve remained loyal to God. 07:17 A test was given them, 07:19 do not eat of the tree of knowledge 07:21 of good and evil. 07:22 We know the story. 07:24 Unfortunately, 07:25 Adam and Eve sinned. 07:30 And I continue reading on the book Education, page 15, 07:36 it says, But by this obedience, this was forfeited. 07:40 All the blessings that were in store, 07:43 that the more, the longer man lived, 07:46 men and women lived the more fully 07:48 would they reflect the glory of God, 07:50 His character. 07:52 It says in this book, 07:55 "Through sin the divine likeness was marred, 07:59 and well-nigh obliterated. 08:01 Man's physical powers were weakened, 08:04 his mental capacity was lessened, 08:07 his spiritual vision dimmed. 08:09 He had become subject to death." 08:13 But that was the situation after sin. 08:18 And God comes to Adam and Eve 08:20 after they sinned with a message of hope. 08:24 He spoke to the serpent in the hearing of Adam and Eve. 08:28 And this is written in Genesis 3:15, 08:32 a message for you and me, 08:34 "And I, that is God will put enmity 08:38 between you and the woman 08:40 and between your seed and her seed, 08:43 he shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his heel." 08:49 This Seed that will bruise the serpent's head 08:52 is Jesus Christ. 08:54 And the wonderful news is that Jesus came 08:58 to bruise the serpent's head. 09:01 Time past, Adam and Eve did not see the blessing, 09:04 but they looked forward to it. 09:08 And the blessing that Jesus would come 09:12 and destroy the serpent's head. 09:14 But you see, this is a plan that was revealed, 09:20 but it was already in God's mind. 09:24 That's why I asked you to turn with me 09:26 to Revelation 13:8. 09:29 And I would like to ask you to pay close attention 09:33 to the last part. 09:34 Notice what it says in Revelation 13:8. 09:37 It says, "All who dwell on the earth will worship him," 09:42 that is the beast, 09:44 "whose names are not written in the Book of Life 09:47 of the Lamb slain 09:49 from the foundation of the world." 09:52 Do you remember a scripture that's talking about Jesus? 09:55 John the Baptist says, "Behold, the Lamb of God 09:58 that takes away the sin of the world." 10:01 You see this Lamb of God is Jesus. 10:04 And it says in Revelation 13:8, 10:08 "This Lamb was slain 10:10 from the foundation of the world." 10:14 As soon as there was a sinner, 10:17 there was already a savior 10:19 because it was already in God's plan. 10:20 God saw it coming and He prepared a plan. 10:24 Praise be to His name. 10:26 Now, of course you must understand 10:29 that the Bible reveals and I would just quote it 10:31 because this is a scripture I learned from memory. 10:33 Romans 6:23, 10:35 "For the wages of sin is death." 10:41 This is what is waiting 10:42 for all those that hold on to sin, 10:45 for all those that refuse the gift of God. 10:49 The wages of sin is death. 10:52 I'm not talking about the first death. 10:54 The Bible calls, 10:56 there's a first death and a second death. 10:58 The first death is a death you die from someone 11:01 either killing you or from an accident or old age. 11:06 Some sickness comes upon you and you die. 11:09 You're not paying for your sins at that particular time. 11:13 It is at the judgment day, 11:17 for all those 11:18 that did not accept the gift of salvation, 11:21 that they will receive the wages of sin. 11:24 They will suffer for their sins and die. 11:27 And that's why Romans 6:23 ends with, 11:32 "But the gift of God is eternal life 11:37 through His Son, Jesus Christ." 11:40 So I praise the Lord 11:42 that the gift of God is eternal life 11:45 in Christ Jesus, our Lord. 11:47 And this gift of eternal life, God is offering to you today. 11:52 Please consider that Jesus did what seemed impossible. 11:58 Why did it seem impossible? 12:01 Because Satan and his angels worked hard, 12:05 worked so hard to make it appear 12:09 that it's impossible to save the human race. 12:12 He worked hard to take 12:16 from man the image of God 12:18 and stamp upon each individual 12:21 the image of the devil. 12:25 I want to reveal to you 12:26 what is found in the scriptures in 1 Kings 8:56, 12:31 because God promised that He would send the Seed, 12:34 the Lamb of God. 12:36 In 1 Kings 8:56, we have a declaration. 12:40 It says, "Blessed be the Lord, 12:42 who has given rest to His people Israel, 12:45 according to all that He promised. 12:48 There has not failed one word of all His good promise, 12:53 which He promised through His servant Moses." 12:56 So we have here a revealing that God 13:00 keeps His promises and every promise in the Bible, 13:06 God is willing to keep. 13:08 Now, please understand, 13:10 there are some promises that come with a condition. 13:13 You fulfill the condition, the promise will be fulfilled. 13:17 But the promise of God's 13:19 sending His Son seemed afar off 13:23 and year after year passed, 1000 years, 2000 years, 13:27 3000 years passed. 13:29 And some began to wonder, 13:31 will God fulfill His promise? 13:34 And in Galatians Chapter 4, the answer is found. 13:39 And it says in beginning in verse 4, 13:42 and I like to read verse 4 and 5 to you. 13:45 It says, Galatians Chapter 4. 13:49 Interestingly enough, 13:51 I'm over here in the Book of Philippians, 13:53 but we are going to come to Galatians. 13:56 Galatians Chapter 4, and here we have it. 14:01 "But when the fullness of time had come, 14:06 God sent forth His Son born of a woman, 14:11 born under the law to redeem 14:13 those who were under the law 14:16 that we might receive 14:18 the adoption as sons." 14:22 When the fullness of time had come, 14:27 God sent forth His Son. 14:30 Now I want to back up for just a moment 14:33 so that you may consider 14:35 that Satan studied the prophecies. 14:39 And in the Book of Daniel, 14:42 as you go from Chapter 8 and 9, 14:45 you will notice 14:46 that there is a prophecy foretold 14:49 about the time when the Messiah would appear. 14:53 So Satan was looking for the time. 14:55 So he worked hard, 14:57 worked very hard to make it seem impossible 15:02 to save the human race. 15:04 And interestingly enough, in the Book of Isaiah, 15:08 there is a declaration 15:10 made about how bad conditions can get. 15:14 And during the time of Christ, 15:16 the condition was such as 15:18 it is declared in Isaiah 60:1. 15:23 Notice, it says, 15:24 "For behold, the darkness shall cover 15:28 the earth and gross darkness the people." 15:32 That's right. 15:35 Satan work hard so that the sin, 15:38 the darkness of sin was spread out throughout the whole world. 15:43 The people whom God had chosen 15:46 to be His representatives in the world 15:49 were going deeper and deeper into sin. 15:52 The people of Israel. 15:53 So when the fullness of time had come and God sends His Son, 15:58 it is as it seem that there is no hope left, 16:02 but Christ came when the time seemed impossible 16:07 to save the human race. 16:09 And I'd like to read to you from a book Desire of ages, 16:14 page 34, 16:16 "The fullness of time had come, 16:19 humanity becoming more degraded through ages of transgression 16:24 called for the coming of the Redeemer. 16:27 Satan had been working to make the gulf deep and impassable 16:32 between earth and heaven. 16:34 By his falsehoods, 16:35 he had embodied and emboldened men in sin. 16:39 It was his purpose to wear out the forbearance of God 16:43 and to extinguish His love for man, 16:46 so that he would abandon 16:49 the world to satanic jurisdiction." 16:52 That was his goal. 16:54 And you may remember that in Genesis Chapter 6, 16:58 he, the devil had done such a work 17:03 that it says in Genesis Chapter 6, 17:06 that the thoughts of man's heart were evil continually. 17:12 And because of the condition of the world, 17:15 God had to destroy the earth with a flood. 17:18 And again, Satan was working hard so that the thoughts 17:23 of men's hearts and women's hearts 17:26 would be evil continually. 17:28 Upon this time, 17:30 Christ comes to the human race with a message 17:35 of hope because the light 17:39 of God would arise upon them. 17:41 The light of the world 17:43 came through the divine 17:48 means presented that Christ would be born of a woman, 17:52 become a human being like you and I. 17:57 This is a miracle that we do not understand 18:01 that God would be manifest 18:04 in the flesh become a human being. 18:08 There is no language in the human race 18:13 that can describe the miracle of Jesus 18:18 becoming a man, becoming a baby. 18:24 Satan knew that Mary had been chosen. 18:29 And I imagine that he looked for opportunity 18:35 to stop this woman from having that baby. 18:39 He looked for opportunities, but heaven's secret service, 18:43 the angels were protecting Mary 18:46 from being destroyed by the devil. 18:48 You see, God did not allow the devil to end the life 18:52 of Christ before He was born. 18:55 And you will notice in the Bible, 18:57 that it says that when Christ was born, 19:01 the king at that time, 19:03 Herod sent out to kill all the children 19:06 that were from a certain age and under, 19:10 because he was afraid that a king 19:13 would be taking his place. 19:15 And he sent out soldiers 19:16 and they went from house to house 19:18 trying to find one that is the Savior, 19:22 Jesus Christ. 19:23 Satan worked through this man. 19:25 This man had no idea 19:28 what he was doing. 19:32 Had he known that Jesus, 19:35 the Son of God had come to the world 19:38 to save him from sin, would he have done it? 19:42 But Satan worked on his heart and this man sent out an order 19:47 that was horrible for which he will have to pay, 19:52 children died. 19:54 All the male children were killed 19:56 from about three years old and under, 20:00 but consider the miracle of Jesus born. 20:05 Notice in Luke Chapter 2, the news had to be spread. 20:10 There had to be rejoicing. 20:12 And it seemed like the world was not noticing 20:14 what had taken place in Luke 2:8-11. 20:17 We have the following words. 20:19 Now there were in the same country, 20:21 shepherds living out in the fields, 20:24 keeping watch over their flock by night and behold, 20:26 an angel of the Lord stood before them and the glory 20:30 of the Lord shone round above them, 20:35 and they were greatly afraid." 20:38 The brightness of this angel caused them to be afraid. 20:41 They didn't know what the reason was 20:43 for His appearance. 20:44 But then in verse 10, the Bible says, 20:46 "Then the angel said to them, 20:47 'Do not be afraid, for behold, 20:50 I bring you good tidings of great joy 20:55 which will be to all people. 20:59 For there is born unto you this day 21:02 in the city of David a Savior, 21:06 who is Christ the Lord." 21:10 They heard these words 21:12 and great rejoicing was born in their heart. 21:17 I'm sure their faces were lighted up. 21:19 Finally, that promise has been fulfilled, 21:23 but verse 12 through 14 of Luke Chapter 2 says, 21:27 "And this will be the sign to you. 21:30 You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, 21:34 lying in a manger. 21:37 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude 21:42 of the heavenly host, praising God and saying: 21:45 'Glory to God in the highest, 21:48 and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" 21:51 Praise the Lord, the Savior had been born. 21:57 But from the moment He was born, 21:59 He became the object of the attacks of the devil. 22:04 In Micah 5:2, 22:07 helps us to understand who this baby is. 22:13 Micah 5:2, "But you Bethlehem Ephrathah, 22:17 though you are little among the thousands of Judah, 22:20 yet out of you shall come forth 22:23 to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, 22:27 Whose goings forth are from of old, 22:30 from everlasting." 22:31 We are talking that this, 22:33 talking to you that this baby 22:35 is none other than Jesus Christ, 22:37 whom the Bible declares that He is God. 22:42 And that's why in the Book of Hebrews Chapter 1, 22:46 we have the following words that reveal to us, 22:50 who this baby is. 22:54 God... 22:55 Chapter 1:1-2, 22:57 "God, who at various times and in various ways spoke 23:01 in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 23:04 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, 23:08 whom He has appointed heir of all things, 23:11 through whom also He made the worlds." 23:14 This baby Jesus, 23:18 the Creator of the world became a human being. 23:22 Marvel wonder in admiration 23:25 at this miracle that God has done. 23:30 What Jesus did was seemed impossible 23:34 at the time when it seemed impossible 23:37 to save the human race, Jesus Christ was born. 23:41 And in the Book of John Chapter 1, 23:43 we are reading quickly verse 1, 2 and 3. 23:46 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, 23:51 and the Word was God. 23:53 He was in the beginning with God. 23:55 All things were made through Him, 23:59 and without Him nothing was made that was made." 24:03 Praise the Lord. 24:05 Now John 1:14 tells us, 24:09 "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. 24:14 And we beheld His glory, 24:16 the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, 24:20 full of grace and truth." 24:23 Praise the Lord. 24:25 Dear people, 24:27 please understand that it is a miracle that Jesus 24:32 came to this world to die for us. 24:35 It is a miracle that is of divine origin. 24:41 And I say to you, 24:42 we should stand back and consider 24:45 this great miracle of God. 24:47 Take time to consider that God 24:49 loved you so much to send 24:52 His only Son to die for you. 24:55 It seems like people nowadays are not impressed. 25:00 They are going this way and that way, 25:03 but they are not considering that time is quickly passing. 25:07 And the time for the judgments of God 25:10 to fall upon this world is very near. 25:13 And people have to make decisions 25:16 for salvation before it is too late. 25:19 The door of mercy will close 25:22 and you do not know when that door will close. 25:25 So it is of urgent, importance, 25:28 of vital importance that you make a decision 25:30 for Jesus before it is too late. 25:33 Consider the great love of God. 25:36 And that's why I want to read to you of this miracle, 25:41 notice in Isaiah 53:1, 25:45 "Who has believed our report? 25:47 And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?" 25:52 You see, this Jesus, 25:55 the fact that He was born in this world 25:57 is a miracle beyond our understanding. 25:59 And we should take time to consider that for you, 26:03 Jesus came to this world to suffer and die for us. 26:09 Every moment in this world 26:11 was a moment of suffering for Jesus. 26:13 The Bible says He was a man of sorrows 26:16 and acquainted with grief. 26:19 Notice how it says in Isaiah 53:2, 26:22 "For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, 26:26 and as a root out of dry ground. 26:30 And He has no form or comeliness. 26:33 And when we see Him, 26:34 there is no beauty that we should desire Him." 26:37 Jesus Christ, it says here, 26:40 He shall grow up as a root out of dry ground. 26:44 What's a root out of dry ground? 26:46 Dry ground seems fruitless, like nothing could grow there. 26:51 He shall grow up as a tender plant, 26:52 as a tender baby He came into this world. 26:56 Angels beholding the face 27:00 of baby Jesus marveled, 27:02 because before this, 27:05 before He was born in this world, 27:07 they beheld Jesus, 27:08 His glorious majestic face, 27:13 glorious with holiness, 27:15 glorious with exaltation and praise, 27:19 all honor and worship. 27:21 He was due all the songs 27:23 and anthems of praise the angels 27:25 could possibly create. 27:27 He was worthy of each and every one of them. 27:31 And yet He humbled Himself and became a baby. 27:36 And now the angels behold this miracle 27:40 and they are amazed that God is love 27:46 and they see a new revelation of God's love 27:51 that God would humble Himself to the degree of becoming, 27:56 the Bible says in Hebrews Chapter 2, 27:59 a little lower than the angels. 28:02 Hebrews Chapter 1 and chapter 2, 28:04 Jesus became a little lower than the angels, 28:07 became a human being to die in this wicked world. 28:13 I invite you to consider 1 Peter 1:11-12. 28:19 Notice what the Bible says concerning Jesus. 28:22 "Of this salvation the prophets have inquired 28:27 and searched carefully, 28:30 who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, 28:34 searching what, or what manner of time, 28:37 the Spirit of Christ who was in them 28:40 was indicating when He testified 28:42 beforehand the sufferings of Christ 28:45 and the glories that would follow. 28:48 To them it was revealed that, 28:51 not to themselves, 28:53 but to us they were ministering the things 28:56 which now have been reported 28:59 to you through those who have preached 29:01 the gospel to you 29:03 by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, 29:06 things which angels desire to look into." 29:11 My brother and my sister, 29:13 Jesus Christ, 29:16 the miracle of His birth, 29:18 the miracle of salvation, 29:22 the fact that God will be willing 29:24 to humble Himself to come to this world. 29:28 Prophets diligently searched, 29:30 they longed to be alive during that time, 29:35 but they did not have such a privilege. 29:37 Angels desire to study and search out the mystery 29:42 of the incarnation of Christ, 29:45 how He became a man, 29:47 how He was willing to do this. 29:50 Angels desire to know more. 29:53 And we as human beings are paying attention 29:55 to this and to that. 29:58 And we pay little attention to what the Bible says. 30:03 And the Bible reveals 30:05 the great blessing of salvation through Jesus Christ. 30:09 Even though I tell you, 30:11 this is something we are going to continue studying 30:13 throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity, 30:17 because it is a something indescribable. 30:22 We cannot fully express it or describe the miracle, 30:26 that God loves a race, 30:30 an individual that commits such wickedness 30:33 against himself, against others, 30:36 against God. 30:37 And God still loves that person. 30:39 And I'm telling you, 30:40 I don't know what you have done, 30:42 but God loves you. 30:43 And sincerely wants you to repent, 30:47 So that you do not die for your sins, 30:49 because Jesus died for you. 30:52 Please come with me and join me. 30:55 As you consider Desire of Ages, Chapter 48, 31:00 there's a message for us 31:03 here that when I read this, I said, this is incredible. 31:06 This is amazing. 31:08 Notice, it would have been an almost infinite humiliation 31:12 for the Son of God to take man's nature. 31:15 Even when Adam stood 31:18 in his innocence in Eden, 31:21 but Jesus accepted humanity 31:25 when the race have been weakened 31:27 by 4,000 years of sin. 31:30 Like every child of Adam, 31:32 He accepted the results of the working 31:35 of the great law of heredity. 31:38 What these results were is shown 31:41 in the history of His earthly ancestors. 31:44 He came with such a heredity 31:47 to share our sorrows and temptations, 31:52 and to give us an example of a sinless life. 31:57 Praise be God. Praise be to Jesus Christ. 32:00 Honor and blessing be unto Him. 32:04 He is worthy of all praise. 32:07 That's why I read to you now from 1 Timothy 3:16, 32:11 "And without controversy 32:14 great is the mystery of godliness 32:18 God was manifested in the flesh, 32:23 justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, 32:27 preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, 32:32 received up into glory." 32:35 That's right. 32:36 Great is the mystery of godliness. 32:41 But this Jesus did not come to this world 32:46 to be praised and honored. 32:48 He didn't come to this world to receive songs of adoration. 32:52 He came to live a life 32:57 perfect and blameless, So that you could be saved. 33:01 He came and He was a target of the devil. 33:05 It seemed that wherever Jesus went, 33:08 there was no rest. 33:10 You see, 33:12 you have to step back and consider the fact 33:14 Satan knew, this is the one. 33:17 This is the one 33:19 that is foretold would crush my head. 33:23 This is the one 33:24 that if He lives a perfect life, 33:28 I am done for. 33:29 It's over for me. 33:31 It's over for my kingdom. 33:33 So he made the life of Christ as most, 33:36 as difficult as it could be, 33:39 an impossible life to live 33:42 because Satan knew, if I don't overcome Him, 33:47 I am finished. 33:50 So every day was a struggle. 33:52 Every day for Jesus 33:54 was a day 33:59 of such difficulty 34:01 because the devil was on His tracks every moment. 34:04 He was relentless, 34:06 coming at Him from different angles. 34:08 Yes, the Bible shows three great temptations, 34:13 but there were hundreds and thousands 34:15 of other temptations stronger than you 34:18 or you or I could ever face 34:21 because so much was at stake. 34:26 Join me now in Isaiah 53:3-6. 34:31 Notice what the Bible says, for thus... 34:35 I'm sorry, verse 3, Isaiah 53, 34:38 "He is despised and rejected by men." 34:43 Rejected by men? 34:44 He came to save them. 34:46 How could He be rejected and despised by them? 34:48 "A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. 34:51 And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him." 34:55 Are you hiding your face from Jesus? 34:59 He came to save you. 35:01 Are you despising and rejecting Jesus 35:04 when His hands are outstretched to you saying, 35:07 come, I want to give you salvation. 35:11 I want to forgive you for your sins. 35:12 I want to give you eternal life. 35:14 I want to rescue you, rescue you from the sufferings 35:18 you are going through. 35:19 And from the sufferings you will go through, 35:21 unless you repent. 35:23 Are you despising and rejecting the offer of Jesus? 35:27 Verse 4, "Surely, He has borne our griefs 35:30 and carried our sorrows, 35:32 yet we esteemed Him stricken, 35:36 smitten by God, and afflicted, 35:40 but He was wounded for our transgressions. 35:44 He was bruised for our iniquities, 35:47 the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, 35:51 and by His stripes, we are healed." 35:54 Notice verse 6, 35:56 "All we like sheep have gone astray, 35:59 we have turned everyone to his own way, 36:01 and the Lord laid on Him the iniquity of us all." 36:07 Consider these scriptures, 36:10 is a message of what Jesus went through. 36:13 Notice that He was wounded, 36:15 it says for our transgressions, but brother, sister, friend, 36:21 He was wounded for everybody's transgression, 36:23 but yours as well, yes, 36:27 every suffering of Christ was for you. 36:30 And He did not complain. 36:33 He willingly took this suffering 36:36 So that you could have salvation. 36:39 The Bible says that all we like sheep 36:44 have gone astray. 36:49 But the Bible says also, 36:52 that the Lord 36:53 laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 36:59 All of your sins were placed upon Christ. 37:03 And I don't know 37:04 if you have ever tried 37:06 to pack something in some vessel 37:09 of some kind or in something, 37:11 in a bag or some box 37:14 and you fill and you fill, 37:15 and you try to press down so that more will fit. 37:20 Upon Jesus was laid the iniquity of us, 37:24 so all of our sins were placed upon Jesus, 37:29 So that He could pay for them, 37:32 So that you don't have to pay for them. 37:34 Jesus has already paid the price. 37:38 This is enough to say worthy 37:42 is Jesus of any praise 37:45 I could ever bring out, 37:50 any praise I could ever say, any song I could ever write, 37:54 any poem I could ever write, 37:57 any glory I could ever give Him. 37:59 And the best glory you can give Jesus 38:03 is to follow Him with all your heart, 38:06 and listen to Him that will give you victory. 38:09 You see the Bible says 38:12 that God so loved the world 38:17 that He gave His only begotten Son, 38:21 that whosoever, 38:23 you see, to be able to say whosoever. 38:27 It means that God, 38:29 the Father must place every single sin. 38:34 Right now, there's close to 8 billion people in the world, 38:39 but we're looking back to history 38:41 to the beginning since Adam, 38:44 how many millions, how many billions, 38:47 could it be trillions? 38:50 And if only one sin 38:53 would be committed by people by each individual, 38:56 that's billions and trillions. 39:00 On Him was laid the iniquity of us all. 39:04 And He willingly took this. 39:07 You see, God loves you that much. 39:13 So please consider, 39:15 consider now giving your life to Jesus. 39:18 Stop rejecting the offer of mercy. 39:21 Stop rejecting His drawing, 39:25 'cause He's trying to draw you to Him, 39:28 so that your sufferings will end. 39:31 And you can begin a life in Jesus, 39:35 or you may have sufferings in this world. 39:38 See, but the sufferings 39:40 of this world cannot be compared 39:43 with the glory and blessings that will follow. 39:47 You see, I say that you may suffer in this world 39:50 because if you give your life to Jesus, 39:53 he will attack you. 39:54 But Christ will surround you with His grace, 39:57 will protect you 39:59 from all the wickedness the devil wants to do to you 40:02 because the Bible says that there is no peace 40:05 for the wicked. 40:07 So outside of Jesus, you cannot have peace, 40:10 only in Jesus will you find peace. 40:12 In Matthew Chapter 27, 40:14 let's read quickly verses 39 through 44. 40:18 We have a description 40:20 to what happened to Jesus on the cross. 40:22 Let us read quickly. 40:23 "And those who passed by blasphemed Him, 40:28 wagging their heads and saying, 40:30 'You who destroy the temple 40:33 and build it in three days, save Yourself! 40:37 If You are the Son of God, 40:39 come down from the cross.' 40:42 Likewise the chief priests also, 40:44 mocking with the scribes and elders, said, 40:47 'He saved others, Himself He cannot save. 40:52 If He is the King of Israel, 40:54 let Him now come down from the cross, 40:58 and we will believe Him. 41:02 He trusted in God, 41:03 let Him deliver Him now if He will save Him, 41:06 if He will have Him, for He said, 41:08 'I am the Son of God.' 41:10 Even the robbers 41:12 who were crucified with Him reviled Him 41:14 with the same thing.'" 41:17 Stop and consider for a moment. 41:20 What are these people saying? 41:22 Are they saying it because it came out 41:24 of their minds or are they saying 41:26 it because the devil 41:28 put that in their mind and they are expressing it? 41:31 You see the devil was there and all 41:34 of his demons were there. 41:35 So rounding Jesus 41:38 to try to make this as difficult as possible. 41:41 Question, 41:43 did the devil want Jesus to be crucified? 41:48 What's your answer to that? 41:50 Did the devil want Jesus to be crucified? 41:54 I say to you, yes. 41:55 If Jesus decided to die for the human race, 41:59 the devil would want him to be crucified. 42:01 Why? 42:02 You see the Romans 42:04 and the devil helped them with this. 42:05 The Romans have perfected the suffering 42:09 an individual could through on a cross. 42:12 The crucifixion 42:14 was the most horrible way to die, 42:18 the most horrible way to be punished, 42:20 to punish a criminal. 42:22 During the time of Jesus, this was the most horrible 42:25 way to die. 42:29 They have perfected the art 42:32 of causing suffering upon people that were crucified. 42:36 And all of these things that they are saying, 42:40 let Him come down from the cross, 42:41 we will believe Him. 42:43 And they're wagging their heads and saying all those things, 42:45 all those things, 42:47 we don't even have half of what they said. 42:49 They were inspired by the devil. 42:51 They were speaking the devil's words. 42:53 Why? 42:54 Because if Jesus would listen to those things 42:57 and do a miracle to save Himself, 43:00 the devil said, I've got you. 43:02 I have won and you have lost, 43:05 all these people are mine. They will be my subject. 43:09 The earth will be mine forever. 43:12 And Jesus hung on that cross. 43:15 Every second was victory. 43:18 Every moment 43:20 was closer and closer to securing your salvation. 43:23 Every moment He was suffering on the cross, 43:25 He was suffering for my sins. 43:28 Every moment on that cross, 43:29 He was suffering the wages of sin, my sins. 43:33 And every moment He stayed there, 43:36 He was gaining the victory. 43:38 You see the devil wanted Him to be crucified 43:41 so that He could inflict such suffering 43:45 that just the pain itself would be such 43:49 that He would want to escape it. 43:52 And even breathing was difficult. 43:54 The way people were hung on the cross, 43:56 they were hanging. 43:58 All the pressure was upon the lungs 44:00 and to breathe was a horrible, 44:04 painful experience. 44:05 And that's why they would try to... 44:09 It would be like you're running. 44:11 Have you ever been in water? 44:14 And it seems like you can't get a breath. 44:15 You're drowning. 44:17 That's what was happening to Jesus. 44:19 Dying on the cross for you. 44:21 He who gave breath, 44:24 the breath of life to people now cannot breathe. 44:29 What a horrible experience. 44:31 Let's read these things in the Bible. 44:34 Let's go quickly to Matthew Chapter 27, 44:38 read verse 45 to 46. 44:43 The Bible says, "Now from the sixth hour 44:45 until the ninth hour 44:47 there was darkness over all the land. 44:50 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried 44:52 out with a loud voice, saying, 44:54 'Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?' 45:00 That is, 'My God, My God, 45:04 why have You forsaken Me?'" 45:12 And I say to you, 45:15 Jesus felt 45:18 forsaken by all. 45:24 But here He cries out to the Father, 45:26 why have You forsaken Me? 45:30 I understand everybody, but You. 45:34 You see, the Father had to withdraw 45:38 His presence because Jesus 45:42 had to suffer like the sinners will suffer at the end 45:47 without God. 45:50 In Psalm 22, 45:53 the Bible reveals a little behind the scenes 45:58 on what was happening to Jesus. 46:01 In Psalm 22, 46:03 you can see that it's talking about Jesus 46:05 because verse 1 begins, "My God, 46:09 my God, why have You forsaken Me? 46:11 Why are you so far from helping Me, 46:14 and from the words of My groaning? 46:17 Why? 46:18 Let's continue reading there, verses 12 through 18. 46:23 Notice the words, 46:26 "Many bulls have surrounded Me, 46:28 strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me. 46:32 They gape at Me with their mouths, 46:35 like a raging and a roaring lion. 46:38 I am poured out like water, 46:41 and all My bones are out of joint." 46:45 This is the experience of the cross. 46:48 "My heart is like wax, it has melted within Me. 46:52 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, 46:57 and My tongue clings to My jaws, 47:00 You have brought Me to the dust of death. 47:03 For dogs have surrounded Me, 47:06 the congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. 47:10 Yes, they have pierced My hands and My feet." 47:14 You see, I will continue reading in a moment. 47:18 The devil was there. 47:20 It says the congregation of the wicked. 47:23 And this is not talking about mere dogs. 47:25 It's talking about the wicked, 47:27 all the assembly of the wicked were there taunting things. 47:31 You heard, the Bible records 47:34 what human beings were saying 47:35 through the inspiration of the devil, 47:37 but all the things that devil was saying to Jesus, 47:39 we do not have a record of, 47:41 but he was there to make this as difficult as possible. 47:47 So that Jesus would come down from that cross 47:51 and avoid the suffering He was going through. 47:55 But Jesus stayed on the cross 47:59 because He loves you, because He loves me. 48:02 Notice what it says, verse 17 and 18, 48:05 Psalm 22, "I count all My bones. 48:09 They look and stare at Me. 48:10 They divide My garments among them. 48:13 And for My clothing, they cast lots." 48:15 You see Psalm 22 48:17 and Psalm 69 reveal some behind the scenes things 48:21 about what happened to Jesus 48:23 through His sufferings, even on the cross. 48:25 So I say to you, 48:27 please consider what Jesus has done for you. 48:32 Jesus endured such suffering. 48:36 And I haven't seen the movie. 48:38 Some people say the movie, The Passion, 48:40 or I forgot how it's called 48:41 The Passion of Christ or passion 48:43 paints a man. 48:44 I... 48:47 There's a man that I know that he passed away now. 48:49 He was an atheist. 48:51 He said it, "John, I went to see the movie. 48:53 Don't go see it. 48:55 Don't see this movie." 48:56 I said, "Well, why are you saying that?" 48:58 Oh, it's just two hours 49:00 of a man getting beaten to death, 49:03 just beaten and beaten. 49:06 And it's interesting he says that. 49:08 He was an atheist, but he went to see the movie. 49:11 I don't know what impact it had on his life. 49:13 He never expressed that to me, 49:15 but I tell you what Jesus suffered 49:17 on the cross cannot be described. 49:21 We read and look at some of the physical suffering, 49:24 but what was going on internally, 49:28 we have no idea. 49:32 We have no idea the agony and the suffering of Jesus. 49:37 John 19:28-30, 49:40 "After this, Jesus knowing that all things 49:43 were now accomplished, 49:46 that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, 49:49 'I thirst!' 49:52 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting 49:54 there and they filled a sponge with sour wine, 49:57 put it on a hyssop, and put it into His mouth. 50:02 So when Jesus had received the sour wine." 50:06 King James says vinegar. 50:08 "He said, 'It is finished!' 50:12 And bowing His head, 50:14 He gave up His spirit.'" 50:18 Jesus Christ died on the cross, 50:21 stayed on the cross as long 50:25 as it was necessary to pay for my sins, 50:29 as long as it was necessary to pay for your sins, 50:32 as long as it was necessary to pay for the sins 50:36 of every individual since Adam 50:39 till the end of time, 50:42 paid for the sins, and then He died. 50:47 Jesus died for you. 50:51 It seemed impossible. 50:54 It seemed impossible that He would stay there. 50:57 It seemed impossible 50:58 that He would come to this world, 50:59 to this earth, 51:01 but Jesus did what seemed impossible. 51:05 Notice what he says in Revelation 12:12. 51:09 "Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, 51:13 now salvation and strength 51:17 and the kingdom of our God and the power 51:20 of His Christ have come, 51:22 for the accuser of our brethren 51:25 who accused them before our God day and night 51:28 has been cast out." 51:31 Praise be to God. 51:33 This verse is speaking of the victory 51:36 Jesus gained on the cross. 51:37 And that's why a loud voice says, 51:42 now salvation and strength and the kingdom of our God 51:47 and the power of His Christ has come. 51:50 Blessed be the holy name of the Lord. 51:54 In 1 Peter, 51:55 1 Peter Chapter 1. 51:59 In 1 Peter Chapter 1, the Bible says, 52:01 verse 18 and 19, 52:04 "Knowing that you were not redeemed 52:07 with corruptible things like silver or gold 52:10 from your aimless conduct 52:12 received by tradition from your fathers, 52:14 but with the precious blood of Christ, 52:18 as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." 52:22 Blessed be the name of the Lord. 52:24 I tell you that the gift of salvation 52:27 is available to you because Jesus 52:30 was willing to pay the price. 52:33 Are you willing to receive the gift 52:37 that Jesus purchased with His blood? 52:40 It says as of a lamb without blemish 52:43 and without spot lived a perfect life 52:46 so that He could pay for your sins. 52:49 In Romans 5:8, the Bible says, 52:52 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, 52:56 in that while we were still sinners, 53:00 Christ died for us." 53:02 And today you don't have to remain a sinner. 53:06 You can become a child of God. 53:10 What should you do? 53:13 What can you do to become, 53:15 to go from being a sinner to a child of God? 53:20 You come before the Lord, 53:23 confess your sins, repent for your sins, 53:26 leave them behind and say, 53:28 "Lord, I don't wanna do these things anymore. 53:31 Please give me victory." 53:35 If you open the door to Christ, 53:37 He will come in and He will be your strength 53:43 to give you the victory that you need, 53:45 to give you the eternal life. 53:47 God demonstrated His love 53:50 toward you and continues to demonstrate this love 53:54 because He loves you. 53:56 Ephesians 2:4-8. 53:58 Notice what the Bible says, 54:01 "But God who is rich in mercy 54:05 because of His great love, 54:07 which He loved us. 54:09 Even when we were dead in trespasses 54:12 made us alive together with Christ. 54:15 By grace, you have been saved and raised us up together 54:21 and made us sit together in heavenly places 54:23 in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come, 54:26 He might show the exceeding riches of His grace 54:29 by His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 54:33 For by grace, 54:35 you have been saved through faith 54:36 and that not of yourselves, it is the Gift of God." 54:40 Will you accept the gift of God? 54:45 Will you accept this wonderful gift 54:49 that Jesus came to buy for us? 54:54 I read to you now from the Book of John 54:59 1:10-13, 55:04 notice what it says. 55:06 "He was in the world 55:08 and the world was made through Him 55:10 and the world did not know Him. 55:13 He came to His own 55:14 and His own did not receive Him. 55:16 But as many as received Him, 55:19 to them gave He the right to become children of God 55:24 to those who believe in His name." 55:27 You have that privilege today. 55:30 The opportunity to become a child of God 55:33 is here and now. 55:35 It says here who were born 55:38 not of blood nor of the will of the flesh, 55:41 nor of the will of man, but of God. 55:44 You can become born of God. 55:48 Will you take this opportunity? 55:51 Will you accept the gift 55:54 of salvation through Jesus Christ? 55:57 Jesus came to give you that blessed gift. 56:02 And you see, Jesus Christ 56:05 came to give you that gift. 56:11 In Hebrews 2:9 it says, 56:14 "But we see Jesus 56:16 who was made a little lower than the angels 56:18 for the suffering of death, 56:20 crowned with glory and honor that He by the grace of God 56:25 might taste death for everyone." 56:29 Jesus tasted death 56:32 for you. 56:35 I invite you to join me in prayer 56:38 as we ask Jesus 56:41 to give us His free salvation. 56:44 Let us pray. 56:45 Our loving heavenly Father, 56:48 I ask You, Lord, to be with every person 56:50 that is confessing His sin before You. 56:54 Jesus tasted death for Mary, for John, 56:57 for Ruben, for Robert, 56:59 for Jill, for Joyce, 57:02 for Randy, for Joe, 57:05 for every one of us, He tasted death. 57:08 Help them to accept this gift of salvation 57:12 and become born of God 57:15 and accept eternal life through Jesus Christ. 57:17 I ask you in Jesus' name, amen. 57:21 I hope that you'll give your heart 57:25 completely to Jesus Christ. 57:27 And in Him, have eternal life. |
