00:01 Hi, and welcome back to Your Favorites by Request.
00:03 This is a favorite part of the program for me, 00:05 because I get to interact with you, the viewer. 00:08 We usually have a caller that we call about this time 00:11 and it may be someone you know, someone you don't know, 00:14 it may be you, so always be presentable, 00:17 have your hair combed during this part of the program 00:20 because we may be calling on you. 00:21 Today, I have a dear friend who I know very well, 00:24 and he always has his hair in place, every, every strand. 00:28 And this is Pastor C.A. Murray, 00:32 he is the general manager of the 3ABN Proclaim channel. 00:35 C.A, how are you today? 00:37 I am doing well, Tim. How are you? 00:39 I'm doing great. You are looking wonderful. 00:41 Thank you so very much for being with us. 00:43 And we're going to just talk to you about music. 00:46 What does music mean to you? 00:49 Oh, music has always been a part of my life. 00:51 I joined the church very young, 00:54 and the church I joined at Buffalo, 00:56 New York had several choirs, the children's choir, 00:58 and there was a one choir 01:00 called the Emmanuel Temple Choral, 01:02 the guys you may know from take six, 01:05 their parents were in that choir 01:07 and it was a great choir, 01:10 traveling choir and you would have to be 13 01:12 and above to get into it, 01:14 so we couldn't wait till we turned 13 01:16 to leave the children's choir and get into the adult choir. 01:19 Right. So that was a great challenge in our lives. 01:22 Oh, that's awesome, 01:23 what a great legacy of music required, 01:25 that's a kind of a dying thing in the churches. 01:30 You know it is, and when I pastored 01:32 I always wanted to have my own choir, 01:34 so I also started the choir 01:36 that I took with me to, you know, 01:38 when I traveled around. 01:39 It was a way to keep the young people involved in the church 01:42 and it sort of replicated what I grew up in, you know, 01:44 when I grew up there in Buffalo, New York. 01:46 Oh, that's wonderful, wonderful. 01:47 I hope more churches will reinstate 01:49 the choir into the church. 01:51 What about the favorite songs you have? 01:54 Oh, my favorite song is one that you helped me work with, 01:58 the first song on that we did on my project, 02:01 "I'll tell the world that I'm a Christian". 02:03 Oh, yeah. 02:04 I had some medical issues 02:05 then I think the Lord sort of gave me that song 02:07 so to keep my mind occupied 02:08 while we're going through some therapy back then, 02:12 but it has been and it's still one of my favorite. 02:15 Oh, and I remember, that was a great version, 02:17 I love your style. 02:19 And you brought that style to this song 02:21 and I'm going to just play a little bit of it 02:24 and you can sing along, 02:25 and we invite you at home to sing along too. 02:28 I'll tell the world 02:32 That I'm a Christian 02:37 I'm not ashamed 02:41 His name to bear 02:50 That I'm a Christian 02:54 I'll take Him with me 02:59 Everywhere 03:19 And I know that if you trust Him 03:25 That all He gave me 03:27 He'll give to you 03:32 I'll tell the world 03:36 That I'm a Christian 03:40 I'm not ashamed 03:43 His name to bear 03:47 I'll tell the world 03:51 That I'm a Christian 03:55 And I'll take Him with me 04:00 Everywhere 04:06 I'll tell the world, I'm a Christian 04:08 and take Him with me everywhere. 04:10 Great, great song, C.A. Thank you so very much. 04:12 Oh, my pleasure. Sweet. 04:15 There are a lot of songs in the hymnal 04:17 just as I've mentioned before multi-thousands of songs 04:22 that have been written through the years, 04:24 and I don't even claim to know a percent of those. 04:29 I will get requests from you that... 04:32 It's like you're trying to stump the panel. 04:35 But I'll run to the hymnal and I'll find these treasures. 04:39 So I want to thank you for bringing those songs 04:42 to my mind as I, as you request them, 04:45 and I look them up and learn them. 04:47 This is one of those that is an older hymnal, 04:49 I had older hymn, 04:51 and it says, "Master the Tempest is Raging", 04:53 such a great picture as we sing this, 04:57 you can hear the raging in the melody 05:00 so very smartly written. 05:04 Master, the tempest is raging! 05:07 The billows are tossing high! 05:11 The sky is o'ershadowed with blackness 05:15 No shelter or help is nigh 05:20 "Carest thou not that we perish?" 05:24 How canst thou lie asleep 05:27 When each moment so madly is threatening 05:31 A grave in the angry deep? 05:35 The winds and the waves shall obey 05:38 Thy will Peace be still! 05:43 Whether the wrath of the storm-tossed sea 05:47 Or demons, or men, or whatever it may be 05:51 No water can swallow the ship where lies 05:54 The Master of ocean and earth and skies 06:00 They all shall sweetly obey Thy will! 06:04 Peace be still! Peace be still! 06:08 They all shall sweetly obey Thy will! 06:12 Peace! Peace! Be still! 06:17 Master, with anguish of spirit 06:20 I bow in my grief today 06:25 The depths of my sad heart are troubled 06:29 Oh, waken and save, I pray! 06:33 Torrents of sin and of anguish 06:37 Sweep o'er my sinking soul 06:40 And I perish! I perish! dear Master. 06:44 Oh, hasten, and take control 06:48 The winds and the waves shall obey 06:51 Thy will Peace be still! 06:56 Whether the wrath of the storm-tossed sea 07:00 Or demons, or men, or whatever it be 07:04 No water can swallow the ship where lies 07:08 The Master of ocean and earth and skies 07:13 They all shall sweetly obey Thy will! 07:17 Peace be still! Peace be still! 07:21 They all shall sweetly obey Thy will! 07:25 Peace! Peace! Be still! 07:31 Master, the terror is over 07:35 The elements sweetly rest 07:39 Earth's sun in the calm lake is mirrored 07:43 And heaven's within my breast Linger 07:48 O blessed Redeemer! 07:51 Leave me alone no more 07:55 And with joy I shall make the blest harbor 07:59 And rest on the blissful shore 08:03 The winds and the waves shall obey Thy will 08:07 Peace be still! 08:11 Whether the wrath of the storm-tossed sea 08:14 Or demons, or men, or whatever it be 08:18 No water can swallow the ship where lies 08:22 The Master of ocean and earth and skies 08:28 They all shall sweetly obey Thy will! 08:32 Peace be still! Peace be still! 08:35 They all shall sweetly obey Thy will! 08:40 Peace! Peace! 08:42 Be still! 08:50 Our next song goes out to Mr. Simmons from Eaton, Ohio, 08:53 who says, this song reminds him 08:55 that God has always been there with him. 08:57 It's a timeless favorite, 08:59 with a timeless message from Andrae Crouch, 09:02 "Through It All". 09:11 I've had many tears and sorrows 09:14 I've had questions for tomorrow 09:17 There've been times I didn't know right from wrong 09:24 But in every situation God gave me blessed consolation 09:31 That my trials come To only make me strong 09:37 On another verse. 09:39 I've been to lots of places And I've seen lots of faces 09:45 There've been times I felt so all alone 09:52 But in my lonely hours 09:55 Yes, those precious lonely hours 09:59 Jesus lets me know That I was His own 10:05 So I sing through it all 10:10 Through it all I've learned to trust in Jesus 10:16 I've learned to trust in God 10:20 Through it all Through it all 10:26 I've learned to depend upon His Word 10:33 So I thank God for the mountains 10:36 And I thank Him for the valleys 10:40 And I thank Him for the storms 10:43 He's brought me through 10:46 For if I'd never had a problem 10:51 I wouldn't know that God could solve them 10:54 I'd never know what Faith in God could do 10:58 Sing it out now. 11:00 Singing now Through it all Through it all 11:07 I've learned to trust in Jesus 11:10 And I've learned to trust in God 11:13 Oh, through it all Through it all 11:20 I've learned to depend upon His Word 11:27 I've learned to depend 11:31 Upon His Word 11:40 Come back and join us next time, right on here, 11:43 on Your Favorites by Request. 11:45 Thanks for watching.
