00:04 One of the things that music does for me, 00:06 it has for me is introduced me to a lot of people 00:09 who are now life long friends. 00:12 And I am joined now by a great friend of mine, 00:15 he is a wonderful tenor singer 00:16 but a wonderful man above everything else, 00:20 my friend Terry Franklin. 00:21 Terry, are you there? 00:22 Tim, I'm here. Good to see you today. 00:25 Just good to be with you. Great. 00:26 Well, you and I have done, 00:28 we've done like hundreds of songs together, 00:29 people don't even notice. 00:31 Right. 00:32 Demos of songs and... 00:33 Oh, goodness. 00:35 We sure have, 00:36 and it's always a blast to get to work with you. 00:38 Through modern technology 00:39 I usually play the song and then you, 00:41 I send it to you through email 00:43 so we don't ever actually get to really see each other 00:45 all that often. 00:47 I know, yeah. 00:48 But we get, we get to share in the gift of music 00:51 and music is certainly a gift, 00:53 I know, and I know that it is, you have been gifted so much, 00:56 what a wonderful and a talented person you are. 00:58 Tell me what music mean to you? 01:00 Well, music, music means so much. 01:03 Music is in my head every single day of my life. 01:06 I've told somebody, 01:07 I've got like the soundtrack going on all the time. 01:10 I drive people crazy around me, my wife Barbie, 01:13 drives her crazy because I'm humming, 01:15 I'm whistling constantly I've got, 01:17 it's either songs that I know, 01:20 ones that I like or ones that I'm making up. 01:22 Right. 01:23 That's a way that it is and I think it's a gift, 01:26 it's a gift that God has given to us. 01:28 Right, right, and you have a ministry, 01:30 you and your wife Barbie travel and sing. 01:33 And so, that's, 01:35 how long have you been doing that? 01:36 We've been doing that for 32 years now. 01:39 Wow. Thirty two years, good grief. 01:43 Thirty two years we've been doing this. 01:45 Well, that's a lot of hotel rooms. 01:47 That's a lot of singing. 01:49 We've been in now 38 countries around the world, 01:53 this is S. Terrie and Barbie Franklin, 01:54 and we go out and we ministered to folks, 01:57 ministered to families, 01:58 marriages are happening and inspiring love in the home 02:01 and revival in the church 02:02 and that's kind of what we are about basically. 02:04 Well, praise the Lord, 02:06 what a great ministry and that's a lot of songs, 02:08 a lot of great memories. 02:09 And tell me now of may be a favorite song that you have? 02:13 I love the song, is called "Farther Along". 02:18 Farther Along to me it's Psalms 37 02:22 is where the Psalmist David, 02:23 everyone will remember this, 02:25 "He said, Lord, why did the wicked prosper, 02:28 why do they prosper?" 02:29 And really the whole song kind of has that feeling, 02:32 and I know some of you listeners out there. 02:34 They wondered, you know, how come, 02:36 you know, I'm trying to serve God, 02:37 I'm trying to do the right thing, 02:38 but, boy, there are people out there 02:40 that they are just as wicked as anything, 02:42 and yet everything goes well. 02:43 They pay all their bills on time 02:45 and, you know, their kids are doing the right things 02:48 and everything and, you know how come, 02:51 how come the wicked prosper 02:52 and sometimes the righteous suffer? 02:54 To me it's a unique song, 02:56 it's a unique song in that way because of that. 02:58 That is so good Terrie, 02:59 and it goes so well 03:01 with what we've already been seeing 03:02 about in the program, we've talked about how David, 03:05 he was going through such turmoil 03:07 in the Psalms 34, 03:09 he had been, he was running from Saul 03:11 and he ran into the Philistine land 03:14 and the king was getting ready to throw him out 03:17 because he taught he was a spy. 03:19 And even in the midst of that Psalm, 03:22 David wrote, "Bless the Lord, O my soul: 03:24 and all that is within me, bless his holy name." 03:27 And so, you know, you are right, 03:29 there is discouragement that comes, 03:31 even when we feel like we're doing the right thing, 03:34 and so this is truly a great song, 03:37 I remember my parents singing this song. 03:40 So I'm glad you're gonna sing this 03:42 and I know you are a tenor singer, 03:44 so we're gonna get this up in a key 03:46 where you can sing it. 03:48 Yeah, I'm a tenor singer on the way 03:51 to being a really good baritone. 03:52 Okay. Well. 03:54 Particularly down here in Florida 03:55 where pollen season has just kicked in. 03:57 Oh, my goodness.
