00:02 Hi, and welcome back to Your Favorites by Request.
00:05 I have so many friends who like myself 00:07 make their living playing music, 00:09 so music plays the role of putting food on our table. 00:13 I have somebody on the line right now 00:15 who is a dear friend of mine, 00:16 who I am privileged to work with. 00:18 She is the Studio Manager 00:20 of the 3ABN Sounds and Recording Studio. 00:24 But she wears a lot of hats 00:25 and she is one of these kind of ladies 00:27 who certainly makes her living with music. 00:30 And sometimes that can take the joy out of it. 00:33 But let's get her on the line here. 00:35 ET, are you there? 00:37 Yes, I am. Hi, Tim. 00:38 Hey, ET, great to see you. 00:40 I was just sharing with the people 00:42 that sometimes when you make a living doing what you... 00:45 With music, it kind of can rob the joy 00:49 because we are so intent on perfecting our music 00:52 that we sometimes lose the feeling of it. 00:55 What do you think about that? 00:57 I think that's a good possibility. 01:00 When I go to concerts or even services sometimes, 01:05 I have a tendency to do what I do 01:08 when I'm working 01:09 and that's analyze and tear apart and try to fix. 01:13 And so then I don't become recipient of the joy 01:16 that music actually carries. 01:18 Right. Yeah, that does. 01:19 And I do love music, yes. 01:21 Yeah. 01:23 Well, that's great. 01:24 I know though that's part of that 01:26 gift that God gives us 01:27 that we have to learn to balance the joy, 01:31 and the technique, and the critic. 01:34 But He wants perfection in there. 01:38 He wants excellence 01:40 that's what the word I guess that His word says we believe. 01:43 That's a good word. 01:44 So anyway, tell me now maybe some of the roles 01:48 that you play in music at 3ABN. 01:53 Basically, I started out traveling with Danny, 01:57 playing for him to sing, 01:58 and playing for camp meetings, 02:00 and then also for other artists that came in 02:03 as they do music. 02:06 And then it kind of translated to other roles 02:10 and opportunity to build the recording studio came 02:14 and so I kind of jumped into the middle of that. 02:18 Right. 02:19 Been here for 17 years, managing and producing, 02:25 and then the opportunity came to start editing music. 02:28 And so I began to do that 02:30 and I work with the sound tracks 02:32 and score of music books for the networks. 02:37 And now I'm getting to work with the production crew 02:42 with music editing and I'm loving that so. 02:45 Awesome. 02:46 Well, it sounds like the Lord has opened up so many doors, 02:49 I love, and in fact, His words says 02:51 that He will open doors, 02:53 He will put you in places 02:54 to use the gifting that He gives you. 02:55 Yes. Yes. So I'm so grateful for that. 02:58 Now I recognize the situation 03:00 that you're sitting in right here, I can tell. 03:02 Usually, I am sitting, I think at that place. 03:06 Where are you right now? 03:07 You are. 03:08 I'm in the recording studio 03:10 in the piano booth 03:12 with my little girl 03:16 Yamaha C7, I absolutely love. 03:18 Sweet. Yes, that is the piano that you helped pick out. 03:21 And the 3ABN is blessed to have that Yamaha C7. 03:25 Well, I think that you probably have a favorite song. 03:31 'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus. 03:34 Oh, that is a beautiful song. 03:35 Would you do me a favor 03:37 and would you play along with me 03:39 as I play that song? 03:41 Let's do this in E flat, what do you say? 03:42 I would love to. Okay. Awesome. 03:44 Okay, that's great. Let's do it. 03:45 Will you sing along at home, all right? 03:47 I'll give you an intro and then we'll start. 04:32 On that chorus again. 04:35 Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him! 04:40 How I've proved Him o'er and o'er 04:45 Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus! 04:50 Oh, for grace to trust Him more! 04:56 Oh, for grace to trust Him more! 05:07 Thank you, ET Everett. 05:09 I appreciate you. 05:13 ET can play for days. 05:15 I love it. I love to hear her play. 05:17 Wonderful player. 05:18 I'm grateful for ET's friendship. 05:20 In fact, I'm grateful for all of my friends. 05:24 So blessed. 05:28 Sing this. 05:30 Day by day, and with each passing moment 05:35 Strength I find to meet my trials here 05:41 Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment 05:47 I've no cause for worry or for fear 05:53 He whose heart is kind beyond all measure 06:00 Gives each day what He deems best 06:06 Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure 06:12 Mingling toil with peace and rest 06:18 You sing this verse. 07:05 Yeah, it sounds great. 07:07 Help me Lord, in every tribulation 07:14 So to trust Thy promises, O Lord 07:20 That I lose not faith's sweet consolation 07:26 Offered me within Thy holy Word 07:32 Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting 07:38 E'er to take, as from a father's hand 07:45 One by one, the days 07:49 The moments fleeting 07:52 Till I reach 07:54 The promised land 08:04 A dear writer wrote in 08:06 when she was requesting this next song 08:08 that when she was finally old enough 08:10 to reach the old organ pedals to play in church, 08:13 she played this song 08:17 on a tiny chime, on keyboard. 08:19 Years and years later, 08:21 she had it sung at her son's funeral. 08:23 It's a wonderful song 08:24 and that one that you'll be very familiar with 08:26 "When they ring those golden bells". 09:52 We shall know no sin or sorrow 09:56 In that haven of tomorrow 10:01 When our barque shall sail beyond the silver sea 10:07 We shall only know the blessing 10:12 Of our Father's sweet caressing 10:17 When they ring the golden bells 10:21 For you and me 10:26 Don't you hear the bells now ringing? 10:31 Don't you hear the angels singing? 10:36 'Tis the glory hallelujah 10:40 Jubilee 10:45 In that far off sweet forever 10:50 Just beyond the shining river 10:55 When they ring the golden bells 11:00 For you and me 11:42 Don't you hear the bells now ringing? 11:47 Don't you hear the angels singing? 11:53 'Tis the glory hallelujah 11:57 Jubilee 12:03 In that far off sweet forever 12:09 Just beyond the shining river 12:14 When they ring those golden bells 12:20 For you and me 12:42 Sweet.
