00:03 I've been so blessed to work with some amazing talent, 00:06 some musicians that put me to shame, 00:09 and I have a friend here who I am going to talk today. 00:13 Her name is Ginger Pitchers, 00:15 she was part of the Lester Family. 00:16 She is a daughter of the Lester's. 00:19 And, Ginger, are you on the line? 00:22 Tim Parton, hi there. 00:24 How are you doing? 00:25 I'm doing awesome. 00:27 It is so great to see you. 00:28 I was just telling my friends, the viewers 00:30 that there are musicians who put me to shame 00:32 and you are one of them. 00:34 But you are a wonderful friend 00:37 and so there has never been any competition. 00:39 We have fortunately been able to work together 00:41 and unite our efforts and make wonderful music. 00:45 That's right. 00:46 Fortunately been able to work together. 00:47 I like that, 00:49 that's one of my very favorite things in the world to do 00:51 is to work and write music with you 00:54 and for live performances 00:55 and then the recordings in studio too. 00:57 Right. And you have been... 00:59 You have a quite legacy of being in a singing family, 01:04 you were raised in the singing family, right? 01:05 Tell me a little bit about what music means to you? 01:09 I have been raised 01:10 in gospel music ministry all my life. 01:11 My family is the Lester Family 01:13 and we are celebrating over 90 years 01:16 of continuous gospel music ministry, 01:18 and I cannot express to you 01:19 what a blessing and a joy that has been in my life 01:23 and having the family all sing together 01:26 periodically in different times. 01:28 And then the other thing is 01:30 they would allow me to arrange some of the music 01:32 and I have a love of all sorts of music. 01:35 And I would try to incorporate 01:37 some of the different styles of music 01:39 and get them into the songs that we were sitting in. 01:41 Exactly, well, I know now that you came off the road 01:45 and you joined your husband 01:47 who is now a pastor of a Baptist church 01:49 down in South Missouri. 01:51 And, so you're playing a different role 01:54 in the music now but in the local church. 01:57 I truly am and it's been a great transition. 02:01 We're been here almost five years now 02:03 and just seeing God work through our church congregation 02:07 and the whole community 02:09 incorporating the old hymns of the church 02:11 along with the new praise and worship, 02:13 it can be a blended thing. 02:15 And we are so excited and so blessed 02:18 to see how God uses that 02:20 and we just try to glorify Him in each and everything 02:24 we do here in Annapolis, Missouri. 02:27 Exactly, I feel the very same way. 02:29 We try to do that, you know, I'm kind of 02:32 at the mercy of the request that come in, 02:35 but it's amazing that the vast array 02:38 and variety of requests that come in. 02:41 People do love the old songs 02:42 but they love the new praise and worship, 02:44 and I think if it glorifies God we're gonna sing it. 02:47 Do you have a favorite song 02:49 that we might be able to sing together? 02:53 Well, that's a tough one, that's a hard one 02:55 but, yeah, I would like to sing 02:58 what a friend we have in Jesus 02:59 because I've had group of kids, 03:01 younger kids on Sunday nights 03:04 and I teach them from old songs 03:05 or we sing one of the old hymns. 03:07 And what a friend we have in Jesus 03:08 is a true favorite, 03:09 and it blesses me every time 03:11 I sing the words to this precious song. 03:13 Oh, excellent. 03:15 What a friend we have in Jesus, we love that song for sure. 03:17 I do get requests for that, so that'll be good to sing. 03:20 I'll play the intro 03:21 and then you can just sing along with me, all right? 03:32 What a friend we have in Jesus 03:40 All our sins and griefs 03:44 To bear 03:48 What a privilege 03:52 To carry 03:56 Everything to God in prayer 04:05 Oh, what peace 04:07 We often forfeit 04:13 Oh, what needless pain 04:17 We bear 04:22 All because 04:25 We do not carry 04:30 Everything to God in prayer 04:42 Thank you, Ginger, so very much. 04:44 I appreciate you calling in. 04:45 I love you, take care of yourself 04:47 and I'll talk to you again soon. 04:48 Love you too, Tim.
