00:01 Hi and welcome back to Your Favorites by Request.
00:03 I've made so many friends through the years, 00:05 and a special friend I have is joining me today 00:09 on this program, Yvonne Lewis Shelton. 00:12 Hey, Tim. 00:15 I love her so much. Oh, it's mutual. 00:16 She's so precious. 00:18 Well, we have a great time, 00:19 we've been doing a few programs, and I've enjoyed it. 00:21 Me too. 00:22 I love to hear you sing and it's just a comfort to have 00:24 somebody close by, 00:25 who can just chime in, and be a part of things. 00:28 So thank you. Thank you. 00:30 Thank you very, very much. Thank you for the invitation. 00:31 Absolutely. 00:32 I have also made some friends over email 00:35 by the requests that you have sent. 00:37 And we have a favorite 00:38 that has been sent in from Dr. and Mrs. Votario Orchajada. 00:44 Orchajada. Yeah, right. Them, too. 00:47 And from North Arlington, New Jersey. 00:50 I can't even say that. North Arlington, New Jersey. 00:53 I wanna say howdy to the Dr. and Mrs. 00:56 And I wanna play this great song. 00:59 I'm not really familiar with it, 01:01 so you carry it for me, okay? Well, I'm not either. 01:04 Okay, well. 01:05 We'll just sing along, it's a sing-along. 01:06 Sorry, doctor, we're gonna apologize 01:08 from the beginning. 01:09 No, we're gonna do "I gave My life for thee," 01:11 the great song. 01:14 Page 281. 01:21 I gave My life for thee 01:25 My precious blood I shed 01:29 That thou might ransomed be 01:34 And raised up from the dead 01:38 I gave, I gave My life for thee 01:42 What hast thou giv'n for Me? 01:47 I gave, I gave My life for thee 01:51 What hast thou giv'n for Me? 01:55 You sing it. 02:26 Verse three. 02:28 I suffered much for thee 02:32 More than thy tongue can tell 02:37 Of bitt'rest agony 02:41 To rescue thee from hell 02:45 I've borne, I've borne it all for thee 02:50 What hast thou borne for Me? 02:54 I've borne, I've borne it all for thee 02:58 What hast thou borne for Me? 03:05 And there's a sweet little chorus 03:08 my friend wrote, it says... 03:09 What will you do for Jesus? 03:16 He's done so much for you 03:23 He gave His life 03:27 As a ransom for sin 03:31 What will you do for Him? 03:38 And my response to that 03:41 would be our next request. 03:57 All to Jesus I surrender 04:05 All to Him I freely give 04:12 I will ever love and trust Him 04:19 In His presence daily live 04:26 I surrender all 04:33 I surrender all 04:40 All to Thee my blessed Savior 04:47 I surrender all 05:21 I surrender all 05:28 I surrender all 05:34 All to Thee my blessed Savior 05:41 I surrender all 05:47 All to Jesus I surrender 05:54 Lord, I give myself to Thee 06:01 Fill me with Thy love and power 06:07 Let Thy blessing fall on me 06:15 I surrender all 06:22 I surrender all 06:29 All to Thee 06:31 My blessed Savior 06:37 I surrender 06:43 All 06:52 Precious. Amen. 06:54 That is our highest delight 06:58 is to surrender to Christ. 07:02 And all, you know, when we think 07:03 about surrendering all... 07:05 Yeah. That's another issue. That's another one. 07:07 That's a whole other level, right? 07:09 Exactly, exactly. Right. 07:12 There is a great request 07:15 that I received from Jamaica, 07:19 Portmore, Jamaica. 07:20 His name is Steven, and he requested a song. 07:24 I enjoy this song. 07:27 An interesting fact about on "Jordon's Stormy Banks I stand" 07:31 is that the original name of this hymn was called 07:35 Heaven Anticipated. 07:37 Oh, wow. It's interesting. 07:39 Before, I guess, it was set to music. 07:43 The lyrics, if you read them through, 07:45 it talks about 07:47 the anticipation of the Christian, 07:49 and of course, the chorus says, 07:51 "I am bound for the promised land, 07:52 who will come and go with me? 07:54 I'm bound for the promise land." 07:55 So, you can feel the anticipation in it. 07:56 And I hope that you are anticipating 07:59 the great coming of the Lord and the time 08:02 when we will all gather on Jordon's stormy banks, 08:06 well, on the other side, right? 08:08 That's where we're going. That's right. 08:10 There won't be no storms over there, all right? 08:11 That's right. For sure. 08:13 So we're gonna sing this like we mean it. 08:22 On Jordan's stormy banks I stand 08:27 And cast a wishful eye 08:31 To Canaan's fair and happy land 08:35 Where my possessions lie 08:39 I am bound for the promised land 08:44 I am bound for the promised land 08:48 Oh, who will come and go with me? 08:52 I am bound 08:54 For the promised land 08:56 Sing out now. 09:14 I am bound for the promised land 09:18 I am bound for the promised land 09:22 Oh, who will come and go with me? 09:26 I am bound for the promised land 09:31 No chilling winds 09:33 Or poisonous breath 09:35 Can reach that healthful shore 09:40 Sickness and sorrow, pain and death 09:44 Are felt and feared no more 09:48 When I shall reach that happy place 09:52 I'll be forever blessed? 09:56 When shall I see my Father's face 10:00 And in His Kingdom rest? 10:05 I am bound for the promised land 10:09 I am bound for the promised land 10:13 Oh, who will come and go with me? 10:18 I am bound 10:20 For the promised land 10:28 That's a happy one, right? Sweet anticipation. 10:30 That's right. 10:32 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. 10:33 Amen. 10:35 To Philippe in Brazil. 10:37 Did I say that right? Philippe. 10:39 Philippe in Brazil. 10:41 I wanna sing a song "It is Well with My Soul." 10:44 Great, favorite of the church for many, many years, 10:47 "It is Well with My Soul." 10:49 And I'm not sure what key I do this in. 10:51 What key would you do it in? I don't know. 10:53 You always figure out my keys. 10:56 Well, let's try B flat. I just sing along with you. 11:11 When peace like a river 11:17 Attendeth my way 11:22 When sorrows like 11:25 Sea billows roll 11:31 Whatever my lot 11:35 Thou hast taught me to say 11:41 It is well, it is well 11:46 With my soul 11:52 It is well It is well 11:58 With my soul With my soul 12:03 It is well, 12:06 It is well with my soul 12:54 My sin, oh, the bliss. 12:57 My sin, oh, the bliss 13:03 Of this glorious thought 13:09 My sin not in part 13:14 But the whole 13:18 Is nailed to the cross 13:23 And I bear it no more 13:29 Praise the Lord Praise the Lord 13:35 O my soul 13:41 It is well It is well 13:46 With my soul With my soul 13:52 It is well It is well 13:57 With my soul 14:03 And, Lord, haste the day 14:07 when my faith shall be sight 14:13 The clouds be rolled back 14:17 As a scroll 14:21 The trump shall resound 14:26 And the Lord shall descend 14:32 Even so it is well 14:37 With my soul 14:43 It is well It is well 14:49 With my soul With my soul 14:55 It is well It is well 15:02 With my soul 15:15 Praise the Lord. 15:16 Amen. Amen. 15:18 That's what we wanna be able to say. 15:19 Absolutely. It is well with my soul. 15:22 For sure, for sure. 15:23 And there's only one way to make that concrete, right? 15:26 That's right. 15:28 And that's to give your life to Christ, follow Him. 15:29 To Jesus Christ, that's right. 15:31 And then, 15:32 once you've done that, you will... 15:36 We got to tell somebody, right? Come on, come on. 15:38 I love it, I love it. 15:39 So we're just gonna set this next song up for Linda 15:43 who requested "Go tell it on the mountain." 15:44 Great. 15:46 It doesn't have to be Christmas time 15:47 To sing this song 15:49 Because once you know in your soul, 15:51 Then you got to go. 15:52 And those sort of rhymed a little better 15:54 but once you know in your soul, you got to go. 15:57 Oh, I love it, I love it. 15:58 So anyway, I'll just... 15:59 Never mind, I'm not a song writer. 16:01 Once you know, you got to go. 16:02 Okay, we'll just go with that, all right? 16:10 Go, tell it on the mountain 16:14 Over the hills and everywhere 16:17 Go, tell it on the mountain 16:21 That Jesus Christ is born 16:26 While shepherds kept their watching 16:30 Over silent flocks by night 16:33 Behold throughout the heavens 16:37 There shone a holy light 16:41 Go, tell it on the mountain 16:44 Over the hills and everywhere 16:48 Go, tell it on the mountain 16:51 That Jesus Christ is born 16:53 All right, you sing it at home. 17:08 Go, tell it on the mountain 17:12 Over the hills and everywhere 17:16 Go tell it on the mountain 17:19 That Jesus Christ is born 17:24 Down in a lowly manger 17:28 The humble Christ was born 17:31 And God sent us salvation 17:35 That blessed Christmas morn' 17:40 Go, tell it on the mountain 17:44 Over the hills and everywhere 17:47 Go tell it on the mountain 17:50 That Jesus Christ is born 17:53 One more time. 17:54 Jesus Christ is born 17:57 That Jesus Christ is born 18:08 Praise the Lord.
