00:01 Hi, welcome back to Your Favorites by Request.
00:03 I have a dear friend John Lomacang with me. 00:05 Good to be here, Tim. 00:06 Thank you very much for being here. 00:08 We're going to sing some songs that are familiar, 00:10 some that are not familiar, kind of like friends. 00:12 That's right. 00:14 Some are a little closer than others. 00:15 And we have several people that are sending requests 00:19 and many of them I don't know. 00:22 That's why this song fits perfectly 00:24 into what you need, "He gives more grace." 00:26 "He giveth more grace." All right. 00:27 Well, let's do this one. 00:29 You sing it and I'll learn it as you're singing, all right? 00:30 Okay. Sounds good to me. 00:40 He giveth more grace 00:44 When the burdens grow greater 00:49 He sendeth more strength 00:52 When the labors increase 00:58 To added afflictions 01:02 He addeth His mercy 01:07 To multiplied trials 01:12 His multiplied peace 01:18 His love has no limits 01:22 Hi grace has no measure 01:26 His power no boundary 01:32 Known unto men 01:36 For out of His infinite 01:42 Riches in Jesus 01:46 He giveth, and giveth 01:53 And giveth again 02:00 When we have exhausted 02:04 Our store of endurance 02:08 When our strength has failed 02:12 Ere the day is half done 02:17 When we reach the end 02:20 Of our hoarded resources 02:25 Our Father's full giving 02:30 Is only begun 02:35 For His love has no limits 02:40 His grace has no measure 02:44 His power no boundary 02:49 Known unto men 02:54 For out of His infinite 02:59 Riches in Jesus 03:04 He giveth, and giveth 03:11 And giveth again 03:21 Amen. Praise the Lord. 03:22 Sweet, sweet words. Wonderful. 03:24 Giveth, and giveth, and giveth, 03:25 what a giving Father He is, right? 03:27 You know, the first time I heard that song was in 2001 03:30 right on the heels of the terrible disaster 03:32 in the World Trade Centre in Washington. D.C. 03:35 That day in the history 03:37 that is marked on everyone's calendar 03:39 that was alive at that time. 03:41 And being a New Yorker, having a sister working 03:44 for the fire department, 03:45 I thought about, you know, I am here, 03:48 I'm on my way to California at that time 03:49 I lived on the West Coast. 03:51 I couldn't contact her, she couldn't contact me, 03:53 and I was thinking to myself, 03:55 "Lord, please don't allow her to be at the base 03:56 of the World Trade Centre." 03:58 She is a firefighter. 03:59 She is with the fire department. 04:00 And if this disaster is of such magnitude 04:02 that I saw when I got to Canada, my wife and I, 04:06 when we arrived and admitted her in Canada, 04:08 I thought, "This is going to be horrible." 04:10 So then after we finally arrived back 04:13 in California to our church, they were worried 04:16 because we were coming back from London 04:18 that very day on United Airlines 04:21 that was diverted to Canada. 04:22 And I thought about... 04:24 When my wife and I finally got through my sister, 04:27 and she said, 04:29 "I'm so thankful just for a bed to sleep in, " 04:33 because she had to sleep on a canvas cot 04:36 with a plastic blanket to cover her 04:38 from all the sweat and all ash 04:40 that was falling at ground zero. 04:42 And then I went home 04:44 and shuffling through my records, 04:46 I heard that song, "He giveth more grace." 04:48 And I included it in the video of all this disaster. 04:51 It kind of took the disaster and covered it 04:54 with God's grace saying, "It's going to be all right." 04:57 And so when I sing that today, 04:58 my mind was taken back to that September day in 2001. 05:03 I said 2011, I think in 2001, 05:05 my mind was taken back to that awful day. 05:07 But yes, God's grace has continued. 05:09 And we got a new World Trade Center in New York 05:12 and God's grace still flows to this day. 05:13 Praise Him for that. It surely does. 05:16 I love songs that talk about the attributes of God, 05:20 and bottom line is 05:23 He is everything. 05:25 He is everything. 05:26 All the things He is, it's limitless. 05:30 This is a great Ralph Carmichael song. 05:32 We talk about him a lot. This is a good song. 05:36 I believe that he wrote this song, 05:38 "He's everything to me," if he didn't, he should have. 05:41 If he didn't, I'm sure you will correct me. 05:45 So... 05:46 But it goes like this. 05:56 In the stars His handiwork I see 06:01 On the wind He speaks with majesty 06:06 Though He ruleth over land and sea 06:11 What is that to me 06:15 I will celebrate nativity 06:20 For it has a place in history 06:25 Sure He came to set His people free 06:29 What is that to me 06:35 'Till by faith I met Him face to face 06:39 And I felt the wonder of His grace 06:44 Then I knew that He was more 06:47 Than just a God who didn't care 06:51 That lived a way out there 06:53 And now He walks beside me day by day 07:00 Ever watching o'er me lest I stray 07:05 Helping me to find the narrow way 07:11 He's everything to me 07:51 He's everything to me 08:01 Another great song. 08:02 You know, I didn't know that that was the song. 08:05 When you started singing, I thought to myself, 08:07 "I know that song, 08:08 but I never knew the title of it." 08:11 And that takes me back to my school days 08:13 when I was actually in the elementary school. 08:15 And the way that it sounds, the chord structure, 08:18 it's sounds like Ralph Carmichael would do. 08:19 Oh, yeah. Yeah. 08:21 I believe it is 08:22 because I was watching a YouTube video, 08:24 the other day when I was doing some research on this 08:27 and there's I think the Billy Gram crusade, 08:30 the Evangelistic Association put out a movie, 08:33 it was black and white, 08:35 and it has some men singing out there on the beach 08:38 and there is like some beach crowd, 08:40 and it said Ralph Carmichael. 08:42 So I'm sure it was him. 08:43 You know that's the only Ralph Carmichael 08:45 that I can think of that would write this song. 08:46 Anyway... 08:47 Hey, Tim. Do that one more time. 08:49 Okay. 08:50 Let's have fun together with that. 08:51 Okay. From the top? Yeah. 08:53 Okay. 08:54 In the stars His handiwork I see 08:59 On the wind He speaks with majesty 09:05 Though He ruleth over land and sea 09:10 What is that to me 09:14 Take it, John. 09:16 I will celebrate nativity 09:21 For it has a place in history 09:26 Sure He came to set His people free 09:32 What is that to me 09:38 'Till by faith I met Him face to face 09:44 And I felt the wonder of His grace 09:50 Then I knew that He was more than just a God 09:56 Who didn't care 09:58 That lived away out there 10:01 And now He walks beside me day by day 10:08 Ever watching o'er me lest I stray 10:14 Helping me to find that narrow way 10:21 He's everything 10:26 He's everything 10:29 One more time. 10:30 He's everything 10:34 To me. 10:41 Sweet. That song is so fun. 10:44 It is really fun. But it's kind of like that. 10:47 I see pitches of songs. 10:49 I'm hopelessly in this movie mind 10:54 when I sing songs. 10:55 Sure, sure. 10:57 And I'm looking at... 10:58 I see a little kid standing out on this... 11:00 looking over this vast creation and thinking, 11:05 "He's everything to me." 11:07 What did you see? 11:08 He falls short of explaining all the things he saw. 11:10 And God is that way. 11:12 When we try to think about God 11:13 'cause my wife and I are like amateur, amateur, amateur, 11:16 iPad astronomers. 11:18 Right. Right. 11:19 You know, we have this program, 11:20 we look at the stars that blink. 11:22 Right. Yeah. 11:23 But when you think about the magnificence of God, 11:24 He's everything to me, 11:26 yet He is walking by me every day. 11:28 Only God can do that. Exactly. 11:30 So I thank you for that, including that one. 11:32 Oh, my goodness. And thank you for the request. 11:34 Yeah, exactly. Thank you. 11:35 And I also want to now 11:37 leading kind of right into that thing 11:39 that in fact He is so all mighty universal, 11:42 He is everything, yet to know Him personally 11:47 is what an awesome privilege we have that... 11:49 And Larry sent in a request 11:51 "For no one ever cared for me like Jesus." 11:54 Wow. What a personal Savior He is. 11:57 So why don't you sing this at home? 12:25 No one ever cared for me like Jesus 12:33 There's no other friend so kind as He 12:40 No one else could take the sin 12:44 And darkness from me 12:49 O how much He cared for me 12:55 You want to sing that second verse? 12:57 All my life was full of sin when Jesus found me 13:04 All my heart was full of misery and woe 13:11 Jesus placed His loving arms 13:15 All around me 13:19 And He led me in the way 13:24 I should go 13:27 Tim, sing the chorus. 13:29 No one ever cared for me 13:34 Like Jesus 13:37 There's no other friend 13:40 So kind as He 13:45 No one else could take the sin 13:49 And darkness from me 13:55 O how much He cared for me 14:02 And one more verse. 14:05 Ev'ry day He comes to me with new assurance 14:12 More and more I understand 14:16 His word of love 14:21 But I'll never know just why 14:24 He came to save me 14:29 Till someday I see 14:32 His blessed face above 14:37 Sing on now. 14:39 No one ever cared for me 14:46 Like Jesus 14:50 There's no other friend so kind 14:56 As He 15:01 No one else could take the sin and darkness 15:08 From me 15:14 O how much He cared 15:21 For me 15:33 Precious Lord. Amen. 15:35 Thank the Lord. 15:37 You know, what would happen 15:38 if the Lord decided to pull the plug and say, 15:39 "You know what, 15:41 I no longer answering your prayers, 15:42 I'm no longer supplying your needs, 15:44 I'm no longer sparing you from accidents, 15:45 I'm no longer watching over you. 15:46 You're on your own." 15:48 That's a scary thing, but you know 15:49 what the Bible talks about those 15:50 who sometimes ignore the voice of God 15:52 and they cross the boundaries into this place 15:54 called the unpardonable sin, and I'm praying that, 15:56 you know, as you listen to the program today, 15:58 I'm praying that your desires to get to know Him better 16:01 because as we've sung in the last few songs, 16:04 He has this boundless treasure, 16:07 blessings He desires to bestow upon us. 16:09 Yeah, He wants to love us. That's right. 16:12 I mean He does love us. 16:13 But He wants us to love Him 16:15 and so we can draw closer to Him, 16:17 He draws closer to us. 16:18 And have that abundant life. Absolutely. Right. 16:21 And it's a daily thing, we liveth daily 16:26 and He's willing to walk with us daily. 16:28 And I have a friend out in Kelseyville, California. 16:33 I don't even know where that is, 16:35 but I have a friend there, 16:36 her name is Earnest Dean, and she is 90 years old. 16:39 Wow. 16:40 And this song is so fitting for her 16:43 and she requested "Day by day." 16:45 I like that song. 16:59 Day by day and with each passing moment 17:06 Strength I find to meet my trials here 17:12 Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment 17:19 I've no cause for worry or for fear 17:25 He whose heart is kind beyond all measure 17:32 Gives unto each day what He deems best 17:39 Lovingly its part of pain and pleasure 17:46 Mingling toil with peace and rest 17:54 Every day the Lord Himself is near me 18:02 With a special mercy for each hour 18:09 All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me 18:16 He whose name is Counsellor and Pow'r 18:24 The protection of His child 18:29 And treasure 18:32 Is a charge that on Himself He laid 18:40 As thy days thy strength 18:44 Shall be in measure 18:48 This the pledge to me He made 18:56 I think we can fill one more verse in. 18:58 Let's try. 19:00 Help me then, in every tribulation 19:05 So to trust Thy promises, O Lord 19:11 That I lose not faith's sweet consolation 19:17 Offered me within Thy holy Word 19:22 O help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting 19:30 E'er to take as from a father's hand 19:37 One by one, the days, 19:40 the moments fleeting 19:44 Till I reach the promised land 20:00 Wow. 20:01 You know, that's a song 20:02 that a person who is 90 would request, 20:04 God gives her strength every day. 20:06 Praise the Lord for that. Absolutely. Right. 20:08 And it's wonderful. Thank you for watching. 20:10 Thank you for being our friends. 20:11 Be sure and email us your request. 20:13 John, you add so much.
