Praise the Lord. I love the Bible. 03:07 I love the fact that we have 03:09 God's Holy Word speaking directly to us, 03:11 directly to us. 03:12 That's right. Amen. 03:14 And that's a great, great hymn. 03:16 Absolutely. 03:17 The Word of God is powerful. 03:18 And it gives us lots of counsel, 03:21 wonderful counsel to live a wonderful life in the Lord. 03:24 And, you know, the one thing that I love 03:26 about the Word of God 03:28 is that it gives us not only stories of the past, 03:31 but also of the future. 03:32 And I love 03:33 how Christ doesn't leave anything out. 03:35 He tells us very clearly 03:36 that He shall not come back again 03:38 until all His gospel of the kingdom 03:40 goes into all the world. 03:42 And, you know, the harvest is right, 03:44 the Bible says, 03:45 and it kind of prepares us for this next song, 03:48 the good old-fashioned hymn 03:49 called "Bringing in the Sheaves." 03:51 You know, I remember, you hear this one a lot on, 03:53 like, old westerns 03:55 where they're sitting in the old church 03:57 in the Wildwood, 03:58 as they say Bringing in the Sheaves. 04:00 This is great song. 04:11 Sowing in the morning Sowing seeds of kindness 04:16 Sowing in the noontide 04:18 And the dewy eve 04:20 Waiting for the harvest And the time of reaping 04:25 We shall come rejoicing Bringing in the sheaves 04:30 Bringing in the sheaves Bringing in the sheaves 04:34 We shall come rejoicing Bringing in the sheaves 04:38 Bringing in the sheaves Bringing in the sheaves 04:43 We shall come rejoicing Bringing in the sheaves 04:48 Sowing in the sunshine Sowing in the shadows 04:53 Fearing neither clouds Nor winter's chilling breeze 04:57 By and by the harvest And the labor ended 05:02 We shall come rejoicing Bringing in the sheaves 05:07 Going forth with weeping Sowing for the Master 05:11 Though the loss sustained Our spirit often grieves 05:16 When our weeping's over He will bid us welcome 05:20 We shall come rejoicing Bringing in the sheaves 05:25 Bringing in the sheaves Bringing in the sheaves 05:29 We shall come rejoicing Bringing in the sheaves 05:34 Bringing in the sheaves Bringing in the sheaves 05:38 We shall come rejoicing Bringing in the sheaves. 05:45 You know, you often hear people 05:47 complain about the modern choruses 05:50 how they're very repetitive. 05:52 Well, I didn't see any repetition in that song. 05:53 Yeah, not at all. 05:56 Bringing in old fashion. 05:57 That's good. That's good. Absolutely. 05:58 You know, I have to just, I have to just input in here. 06:01 You know, everyone of all these good people 06:02 sending in their favorites. 06:04 And I have yet to be able to do one of my favorites 06:06 on this show, so. 06:07 I've not yet run across your email, I guess, 06:10 submitting that request. 06:12 Right. Right. 06:13 So I suppose you're telling me, you have a favorite. 06:15 I do have a favorite. 06:17 You know, since we're on 06:18 kind of the theme of hymns right now, 06:19 one of my favorites is actually 06:21 a good old-fashioned Adventist hymn. 06:23 It's just swallowed in Adventist history, 06:26 as was seen early on in our early Adventist history. 06:29 And, of course, 06:30 I love the story behind the song. 06:32 The song is entitled, "Never Part Again." 06:34 And it's one of those you just don't hear very often. 06:36 It's kind of got, a kind of an awkward, 06:38 kind of weird chorus 06:39 even though it's kind of catchy once you get on to it. 06:42 But you know, good old-fashioned evangelist 06:43 by the name of Fordis Detamore 06:46 used to sing this song at his evangelistic series. 06:47 What was his name? 06:49 Fordis Detamore. Okay. 06:50 And he would, he would basically do it 06:52 like a call in response 06:53 and I would kind of like to do that here. 06:55 You can just help me out, on the chorus it goes, 06:59 when it comes to the part 07:00 where you're asking the question, 07:01 why do you say that? 07:03 What? 07:04 Never part again 07:05 and then I'll say no. 07:07 Never part again. 07:08 And then you'll say what? 07:09 Almost like you're in disbelief. 07:11 What? 07:12 Never part again. 07:14 I'll say, no, never part again. 07:16 And we'll continue through. 07:18 So let's sing it. It's a beautiful song. 07:19 Let's try it. 07:31 There is a land of pure delight 07:38 Where bliss eternal reigns 07:44 Infinite day excludes the night 07:50 And pleasures banish pain 07:56 We're trav'ling To Immanuel's land 08:02 We soon shall hear The trumpet sound 08:08 And soon we shall 08:12 With Jesus reign 08:16 And never, never part again 08:21 This is where I come in? This is where you come in. 08:23 What? 08:24 Never part again? 08:28 No, never part again 08:34 What? 08:35 Never part again? 08:38 No, never part again 08:43 And soon we shall 08:46 With Jesus reign 08:51 And never, never part again 08:54 I love it. 08:55 And I love that, don't you? Yeah. 08:57 Sing the second verse. 08:58 There's Everlasting Spring abides 09:05 And never with'ring flowers 09:11 And but a little space 09:15 Divides 09:18 This heav'nly land from ours 09:24 We're trav'ling To Immanuel's land 09:30 We soon shall hear The trumpet sound 09:35 And soon we shall 09:38 With Jesus reign 09:43 And never, never part again 09:49 What? 09:50 Never part again? 09:53 No, never part again 09:58 What? 10:00 Never part again? 10:02 No, never part again 10:07 And soon we shall 10:10 With Jesus reign 10:14 And never, never part again 10:20 Sing it now. 10:22 Could we but stand 10:25 Where Moses stood 10:29 And view the landscape o'er 10:35 Not all this world's Pretended good 10:42 Could ever charm us more 10:48 We're trav'ling To Immanuel's land 10:53 We soon shall hear The trumpet sound 10:59 And soon we shall 11:02 With Jesus reign 11:06 And never, never part again 11:12 What? 11:14 Never part again? 11:16 Oh, no, never part again 11:21 What? 11:23 Never part again? 11:26 No, never part again 11:31 And soon we shall 11:35 With Jesus reign 11:40 And never, never part again. 11:52 One of my favorites, beautiful song, man. 11:54 You know what, dude, 11:56 I really didn't care for that song before, 12:00 but thank you for putting it in context. 12:03 And what a gift this song is. 12:05 I mean, and when sung with such emotion and yeah, 12:10 that's, I mean, 12:11 I think the writer would really enjoy 12:13 that performance very much. 12:14 Praise the Lord, right? Praise the Lord. 12:16 Yeah, and you know what? 12:17 I'm glad people at home, 12:18 it's got to be someone's favorite, right? 12:20 Not just mine. 12:21 Well, you know what, the concept of the thought 12:22 never part again. 12:24 What a gift that that will be. 12:27 You know, of course you know my last name 12:29 and they used to say well, 12:30 there'll be no parting in heaven. 12:32 That's right. I got you. 12:33 And, so, yeah, it's a bittersweet thanks, 12:37 but getting through it. 12:39 But thank you so very much for sending in your request 12:42 and you're welcome to do that anytime 12:44 as long as it's this one. 12:45 All right.
