00:01 Welcome to Your Favorites By Request with me, Tim Parton.
00:04 You sent me your favorite songs, 00:06 and I'm ready to play while you sing along. 00:10 And if you don't remember all the words, don't worry, 00:13 they're on the screen. 00:15 And now, Your Favorites By Request. 00:18 Your Favorites By Request La, la, la 00:21 Imagine the scene of two armies in a battle. 00:24 On God's side are all of His angels 00:26 and all of God's people. 00:28 On the other side are Satan, 00:30 his demons and those who don't believe 00:32 in Christ as Savior. 00:34 As violent as the battle may be, 00:36 the outcome of the war has already been decided. 00:39 Our victory was assured 00:41 in the sacrificial death of the Son of God 00:44 on the cross of Calvary. 00:46 As long as this life endures, we are still in the battle, 00:49 placing our lives at 00:51 Christ's disposal available anytime 00:53 and anywhere to encourage and pray for one another. 00:57 Many songs have been 00:58 written about our secret weapon, 01:00 but it's no secret. 01:02 It's the blood of Jesus 01:03 that covers and empowers us and gives the ultimate victory. 01:07 Power in the blood. 01:08 What a wonderful way to start this program. 01:11 I love this song. 01:22 Would you be free 01:24 From the burden of sin 01:26 There's pow'r in the blood 01:29 Pow'r in the blood 01:31 Would you o'er evil 01:33 A victory win 01:36 There's wonderful pow'r 01:38 In the blood 01:40 There is pow'r, pow'r 01:43 Wonder working power 01:45 In the blood of the Lamb 01:49 There is pow'r, pow'r 01:52 Wonder working power 01:54 In the precious blood 01:56 Of the Lamb 01:59 Would you be free 02:00 From your passion and pride 02:03 There's pow'r in the blood 02:05 Pow'r in the blood 02:07 Come for a cleansing 02:09 To Calvary's tide 02:12 There's wonderful pow'r 02:14 In the blood 02:16 There is pow'r, pow'r 02:18 Wonder working power 02:20 In the blood of the Lamb 02:24 There is pow'r, pow'r 02:27 Wonder working power 02:29 In the precious blood 02:31 Of the Lamb Sing it now. 02:49 Oh, yes, there is pow'r, pow'r 02:53 Wonder working power 02:54 In the blood of the Lamb 02:58 Yes, there is pow'r, pow'r 03:01 Wonder working power 03:03 In the precious blood 03:05 Of the Lamb 03:14 Upon life's boundless ocean 03:17 Were mighty billows roll 03:20 I fixed my hope on Jesus 03:22 Blest anchor of my soul 03:25 When trials fierce assail me 03:28 As storms are gath'ring o'er 03:30 I rest upon His mercy 03:33 And trust Him more 03:36 I've anchored in Jesus 03:38 The storms of life I'll brave 03:41 I've anchored in Jesus 03:43 I fear no wind or wave 03:46 I've anchored in Jesus 03:48 For He has pow'r to save 03:51 I've anchored 03:52 To the Rock of Ages 03:57 He keeps my soul from evil 03:59 And gives me blessed peace 04:02 His voice hath stilled The waters 04:04 And bid their tumult cease 04:07 My Pilot and Delivr'er 04:09 To Him I all confide 04:11 For always when I need Him 04:14 He's at my side 04:16 I've anchored in Jesus 04:19 The storms of life I'll brave 04:21 I've anchored in Jesus 04:23 I fear no wind or wave 04:26 I've anchored in Jesus 04:28 For He has pow'r to save 04:31 I've anchored In the Rock of Ages 04:37 He is my Friend and Savior 04:39 In Him my anchor's cast 04:41 He drives away my sorrows 04:44 And shields me from the blast 04:46 By faith I'm looking upward 04:49 Beyond life's troubled sea 04:51 There I behold a haven 04:54 Prepared for me 04:56 I've anchored in Jesus 04:59 The storms of life I'll brave 05:01 I've anchored in Jesus 05:03 I fear no wind or wave 05:06 I've anchored in Jesus 05:08 For He has pow'r to save 05:11 I've anchored In the Rock of Ages 05:38 Rock of Ages, cleft for me 05:44 Let me hide myself in Thee 05:51 Let the water and the blood 05:56 From Thy wounded side 05:59 Which flowed 06:01 Be of sin the double cure 06:07 Save from wrath 06:10 And make me pure 06:49 While I draw 06:52 This fleeting breath 06:55 When my eyes 06:58 Shall close in death 07:02 When I rise to worlds unknown 07:07 And behold Thee on Thy throne 07:13 Rock of Ages, cleft for me 07:18 Let me hide myself in Thee 07:31 Yeah. 07:33 That's great medley of some wonderful evangelistic songs. 07:38 We read of some rock solid traits of Jesus 07:41 in 1 Peter 2:23-25. 07:45 "When they hurled their insults at Christ, 07:48 he did not retaliate. 07:50 When he suffered, he made no threats. 07:52 Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. 07:57 He Himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, 08:01 so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness, 08:05 by his wounds, you have been healed, 08:07 for you were like sheep going astray, 08:10 but now you have returned 08:12 to the shepherd and overseer of your souls." 08:16 Here is a long overdue request for a beautiful lady. 08:20 She's my Californian mom. 08:23 And she has taught me how to love, how to care. 08:27 And this request, like I said, 08:31 was made a few years ago, 08:34 and I'm sorry, I'm just now getting to it 08:36 but I hope it means as much. 08:44 Long ago in a faraway place 08:49 Rough rugged timbers 08:52 Were raised to the sky 08:57 There hung a man 08:59 Suspended in space 09:02 And though He was blameless 09:05 They left Him to die 09:09 Just to think of the cross 09:13 Moves me now 09:16 The nails in His hands 09:19 His bleeding brow 09:22 To think of the cross 09:25 Moves me now 09:27 It should have been me 09:30 It should have been me 09:33 Instead I am free, I am free 09:43 He put an end to my Guilt and despair 09:48 Turned bitter hating 09:51 To sweet peace and love 09:56 Even the men 09:58 That put Him up there 10:01 Were offered forgiveness 10:04 And life from above 10:08 Just to think of the cross 10:12 Moves me now 10:15 The nails in His hands 10:18 His bleeding brow 10:20 To think of the cross 10:24 Moves me now 10:27 It should have been me 10:30 It should have been me 10:33 Instead I am free, I am free 11:03 I love Thee, I love Thee 11:08 I love Thee, my Lord 11:13 I love Thee, my Savior 11:17 I love Thee, my God 11:22 I love Thee, I love Thee 11:27 And that Thou dost know 11:32 But how much 11:34 I love Thee 11:36 My actions will show 11:41 I love this song. 11:43 Not real familiar with it but it's... 11:46 As I've learned it, I hear the... 11:51 It's kind of a, got a little bit of a Western 11:56 feel to the melody. 11:58 And I noticed that the, in the Adventist hymnal, 12:01 it says it's Ingalls Christian Harmony from 1805, 12:07 and I don't know if that's like 12:08 Little House on the Prairie, the Ingalls, 12:10 but I can hear that out on their open range 12:14 it kind of goes. 12:22 Isn't that fun? 12:23 It's kind of neat how melodies are paired with lyrics. 12:29 And so let's sing the second verse of this song. 12:31 It was kind of random for me to talk about that but anyway, 12:34 this is a great second verse. 12:36 I'm happy, I'm happy 12:39 Oh, wondrous account 12:43 My joys are immortal 12:47 I stand on the mount 12:51 I gaze on my treasure 12:55 And long to be there 12:59 With Jesus and angels 13:03 And kindred so dear 13:08 You sing it now. 13:43 Oh, who's like my Savior? 13:47 He's Salem's bright King 13:52 He smiles and He loves me 13:55 And helps me to sing 14:00 I'll praise Him I'll praise Him 14:04 With notes loud and clear 14:09 While rivers of pleasure 14:14 My spirit do cheer 14:28 We'll be back right after this. 14:29 Stay tuned. |
